I love how techincal you are and how detailed you get with the steps and how you skip the sewing for this video...
My project I'm making a tunic and adding a cowl... I've never done the neck holes, so your measurements strategy is perfect. I'm going to see how I can get the back of the neck to sit higher than the front with it being one piece of fabric folded... I may mesure the circle of the neck then scoot it forward a third... But before I cut I'm going to search your vids for you making a "crew neck"
I don't have a specific crew neck video, just a general one dealing with neckbands mellysews.com/sew-knit-neckband-finish-knit-necklines-sew-knit-binding/
Thank you for this tutorial!!! God bless you❤️❤️❤️
Glad it was helpful!
Great information and well taught. Looks cute.
Thanks!
This is so helpful. I'll definitely try adding one to my sweater pattern. Thanks
Have fun sewing!
Hi Melissa!! Wonderful vlog.. Great hack & tutorial....
💜💜🧵🧵
👍
Thanks for doing this! It’s really given me an idea. I have a sweatshirt I really like but the neck is just too large but I can see that if I take the neck bad off and replace it with a cowl then that should solve the problem. I’m otherwise very happy with the sweatshirt. Going to give this some serious thought.
I would think that would work - you might want to narrow the cowl toward the fold line instead of doing a straight rectangle like I did.
Love a cowl neck 😊 this is so cute xx
Thanks! I'm wearing it again today 🙂
I don’t like anything too close to my neck, but your cowl is loose and you started with a drop-neck sweatshirt, I want to give it a try. BTW, love the material for the shirt you are wearing, noticed you matched your cuff patterns...nice.
Yes, I can't stand things hugging my neck, but I do like to keep it warm.
Great tutorial! I can't wait to try this.
Thanks, have fun sewing!

Nice Job
Thanks for watching!
The link for pattern no longer works. I really want to make this.
I don’t understand what you mean. the blog post linked in the description has all the details to get the pattern, and it’s working.
I also clicked the link and got a 404 error - page not found.

@@Mellysews thank you! And thanks so much for this tutorial. I am so uncomfortable in crew neck sweatshirts, but also don’t want to be as casual as a hoodie. This is the perfect alternative. I’m doing this on a 3x sweatshirt, so my measurements seem huge, but I think it will work out.
Happy Holidays!
may we knwo the size of the eyelet??:)
You can use any size that is less than your seam allowance.
Hello, what type of fabric are you using for this one?
