    a few notes on the cons. for the turbo going out you can make them last well over 120k miles with a tune as long as you do frequent oil changes at around every 5k miles. you can also tune the AWD system to be more 50/50 or have a AWD controller to customize it.

    Carbon buildup is only a North American issue. The European spec has both direct and port injection. With proper maintenance, especially when tuned, the stock turbo can last quite long. And like everything else, you gotta pay to play.

      That mpi is only pre face-lift or upto 2017, gpf golf r and the seat cupra face-lift gpf do not come with mpi, I have a pre face-lift seat cupra 290 which has the 4 extra injectors/mpi on the intake manifold

    carguy from germany here: folks please use thicker oil for the R since the turbo is generating a lot of heat, so dont use 0w30 or 5w30 but instead use 0w40 or 5w40

      5w-40 Liqui Moly is the way to go.

      @@sinnaever in germany most of the people use addinol or motul but actually its way more important that the oil company has some kinda of approvement for your car so the make of the oil is secondary

    Big pro is also mpg. My 19 R that’s IE stage 2 ecu/tcu still easily gets 30-32 highway in cruise control. It’s a regular hatchback until you don’t want it to be.

    The car is fine as long as your map isn't too aggressive with high boost on the OE turbo. If you use good oil, don't trash from cold there is no reason the engine should last for well over 100k miles.

    I have the opportunity to grab a 2019 golf r with 4 thousand miles. Certified preowned and it’s been stage 1 apr tuned. But they’re asking 42k for the car.
    I’m not in a position to wait until the mk8 comes out because I need a car, but idk what to do

    • @Zach-tm7oh
      @Zach-tm7oh Před 3 lety +1

      That sounds far too expensive. Try to hold out for Mk8 or at least until the market stabilizes. Consider a GTI, and AWD isn’t a necessity for you.

      @@Zach-tm7oh I live in NJ. In the winter awd comes in handy. I like the gti too, but all the ones I see are either automatic or have a lot of miles.
      I’m without a car at the moment otherwise I’d wait for the mk8

      The mk8 is ugly and the interior has a lot of quirks people don’t like, the mk7 will be the most valuable version in the future by far.

    I have a 2007 Cadillac CTS straight piped and the trunk is gutted I am going to take out rear seats get new tint black the car out new rims intake dyno tune race sparks but I’m trying to lower my car should I get springs or coilovers my car does bounce when going like 80mph it bounces really bad and like going over train tracks and stuff like tht or if it’s like a dent in the road Wht should I do I wan keep comfort while also feeling sporty but make the bounciness go away

    • @maperformance
      @maperformance  Před 3 lety

      Sounds like you need new struts! I would recommend a set of performance struts and some lowering springs. That will make your car ride better and be a bit lower!

      Tell that to my rear bald summer tires last winter when they pulled me out of a snowbank in the middle of a blizzard, while my front tires spun freely in a pocket of ice 🤷‍♂️ would’ve needed AAA if it didn’t have AWD
