    I got the chance to kite here once during my exchange year and it was unlike any spot i have ever been to in Germany. The scenery is beautifull (u can see shanon falls from the water if u kite upwind) the wind constant and the people helpfull. And my kite failed so i got picked up with the jetski that was no problem. Some things did change tho since that video was taken, you can no longer drive up to the start and landing point it is now an island where you go by a boat shuttle. This drives every 15 minutes from another parkinglot (idk exactly where look it up before you go). And be carefull of logs drifting in the water so ur lines do not tangle in them when u put your kite on the water

    Awesome video! I’m starting to learn backrolls and I can’t wait to travel the world (when I’m old enough)

    Great vid but it's a bit misrepresentative. There's usually more than 1-5 people there as shown in the footage. That's only in the shoulder season or maybe in late in the evening. Weekends in the summer can bring 50-70 kites on the water and there's a really tight line-up pattern to get into the honey hole... you gotta work your way in there and get out before getting landed on. If it's high tide then the rigging area is also really packed and laying your lines down with everyone else can be challenging. There are strictly enforced rules about staging and rigging your kite. If you aren't actively rigging your kite then the staff just take it away... as they should because it's so damn crowded. And I've given up kiting on Sundays as the drive back to Vancouver on a Sunday evening is a nightmare taking an extra 30-60 minutes as traffic is backed up a couple kilometers as the highway narrows from two lanes to one. Great spot but it's one that's hitting absolute capacity at times so be prepared.

      Good vid, but yup this place gets crazy crowded on the weekends. Many Vancouver kiters I know don't even bother anymore.

      Thanks Henry!! Summer weekend for sure get crazy... more kites, more friends though?? :P Visitors that can get in for mid-week sessions and be there when the wind starts will definitely have a little more space. Maybe see you out there this summer :)

      Hey Adam! Are you from Vancouver? What spot do you ride at in Van?

    • @AdamsHadEnough
      @AdamsHadEnough Před 6 lety +1

      Hi Crystal, I am from Vancouver. I normally ride Dog Beach or Acadia at Spanish Banks on Northwesterlies or 3rd Ave is Tsawwassen. I'll work mainly on frontal winds so they can be calm in the summer. Fall through spring at 3rd Ave has in my opinion the best kiting on our South coast. I have some footage of both on my channel.

    I was told that squamish is now closed to kiters for environmental reasons. Anyone know about this?

      Thanks for asking, Jack. 🤙🏽 I haven't heard anything about the situation up there at Squamish. Maybe reach out to Sam Medysky at Airush. Think he used to live up that way. Instagram (DM: @SamMedysky). Good winds! -Aaron

    Great video but you seem confused about where the river is vs the ocean. The Squamish River is on the west side of the Spit. Kiters don't launch on that side; sail boarders do. The estuary is not in the river. You're not allowed to kite IN the estuary since it's an environmentally sensitive area.

    Hi guys, i love your videos. In case you want some inspiration for videos... How about a video on how to fix wetsuits?

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  Před 6 lety

      Hey Ole, we're all about taking requests on this channel. A wetsuit fix would be a quick video! Depending on the extent of the repair, grab some wetsuit cement and be diligent on patching as soon as you notice the damage. I have some fragile winter suits that I patch every couple of sessions due to the wind skin. Feel free to email me a photo at Kiteboarder@mackite.com We'll have a look and consult. Cheers! - Rygo

      MACkiteboarding Thanks Rygo. My problem is more that the seems seem to fall apart. There aren't any really good videos about fixing these and most of these out there are trying to sell glue. I heard you can actually repair by sewing instead of glueing? What are the pros and cons of glueing? 🤔 Would be cool if you guys could make a video that tackles all of that. I'll send you a picture. Thanks and have fun if you do this. ☺
