The direct drive from Thingvellir to Geysir is 34.2 mi (55 km), and should have a drive time of 54 mins in normal traffic.
If you’re going on a road trip from Thingvellir to Geysir, we did the research for you and compiled some great stops along the way - with Selfoss, as well as top places to visit like Alhestar and The Geothermal Exhibition, or the ever-popular Strandarkirkja.
Geysir is a famous hot spring in the geothermal area of Haukadalur Valley, found in south-west Iceland. Geysir is less than two hour's drive from the capital, making it easily accessible for many joining a Golden Circle day tour or those who rent a car.
This video was recorded in December . The weather can be very nice in Iceland during the winter time , the views are stunning.
