I used to work for a company that did mail order. The boss would always get mad about the amount of tape I'd use to pack the boxes. They'd also buy the thinnest, crapiest tape because they wanted to save money. I didn't care. I packed it the same. We were shipping heavy items, and the boxes were often not the greatest, so it was often the tape that kept the boxes together. 😆
I suspected that is what was happening. It just happens so often and it costs so much more to resend things. It doesn't make sense to me anyway.

I I’m cooking dinner for my seven kids, chicken tacos and watching your package chat. Thank you Holly for doing them. I love listening to you while I clean and do other chores. It makes it go by much faster.😊

I love the Pack and Chats. You have such a darling personality. I switched from Adobe products because it became so expensive and now use Affinity Photo, Designer, and Publisher. I'm glad I did! Thank you for sharing with us.

I LOVE WINTER! I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. I used to just sit outside at 20 degrees and soak in the cold and sun.
Yes! 20 degrees in the NW/drier climates also feels much better than 20 degrees in humid areas.

Love your pack and chat videos ❤ I live in Marion Montana and the cold snap that we had here was -66°F it was so cold the wood in my house was popping. It was so loud it scared my dogs. My husband said the he could hear the trees popping as well. On a good note hopefully that cold killed the bark beetles, and carpenter ants. Maybe even those yellow jackets. Sending much love to you and your family. 💜🙏🏻💜
We are very close! The trees were popping here too. Our trailer popped once and it was so loud and our dogs started barking. The rain we're getting on the snow makes it so slick too. I love that we get more sunshine up here though than down in the valley with the inversions. Best to you and yours as well!
Illustrator is a layout program, so it is best to place your art into it to print labels. I love illustrator and do most my designs in it or I pull my art into it to finish. You always make beautiful labels. You have a gift for it!! ❤
I like the soap wrapped in paper and I see it as less waste. It does look to take more time to pack for you.

Great video Holly. I use Avery labels, but I buy the full sheet which just has one label on it, I cut them to size using my paper guillotine x

I am using the regional box A’s until I run out of them because they are free. All you have to do now is punch in the dimensions as a 10 x 7 x 4 box. The caveat is you have to ship priority. Apparently you can’t ship a “Priority” designed box “ground”even though they discontinued the regional program. My little brain thought I could. I found this out the hard way when my customer’s order returned back to me. I am going to order some 10 x 7 x 4 boxes from Uline. That size works really well for me and they work for the cubic rate program.
Yes, I tried to use a cube box as I call them. 7 x7 x 6.5 I think they were. But I shipped ground and they adjusted the price. Too bad yours came back, with my shipping program, they just adjust it and bill me the extra. The Priority is just so much more expensive nowadays. Buying the boxes are less expensive in comparison but we still have that added supply and expense.

I enjoy your pack and chats. You said you’ll probably go back to the soap boxes instead of paper, is there a particular reason why? I like both, I’m just curious.
Thanks! The wrapping just takes so much time compared to boxing. Additionally, the boxes give the soaps more protection in shipping. When they are boxed, the customer can also open it up, look and sniff the soap, and put it away until they are ready to use it. The paper just eliminates that part of the order receiving enjoyment.

They surely would! I made one a while back that was green, blue, and purple and it was so fun!
I live in Florida where the temperature is 62 degrees right now. Our winters are usually pretty mild for us but sometime we do get down to freezing but it only lasts for hours not days.

Yeah, I started wrapping in paper when I cut my bar size in 2022 and was trying to reduce costs. Paper is still so much less expensive. We'll see!

I am guessing you are talking about labels? I work my way through it but I wouldn't be a good person to learn from.
