    Greetings Mrs. Jessie
    I recently bought a high powered 21" stick blender from Vevor for under $200....great quality and well worth the investment. For the amount of soap you make I believe it would save you a lot of unnecessary hard work and time.

    I really enjoyed your video and watching this process. Very interesting! I watched a couple of your other videos and noticed you also make cold process soap. Do you prefer hot process for certain recipes? I’ve been wanting to try it for essential oil soaps since the fragrance is added at the end.

    Saw you at the conference but did not get to speak to you. I have never tried this HP method myself. I also use a very steep WD for all my soaps, Enjoyed the video .

    Can you get one of those paddle mixers for large dough making or for epoxy mixing? Would that be easier then stick blending?

    • @countrylathersoapworks
      @countrylathersoapworks  Před měsícem +1

      I am figuring on getting a commercial stick blender. I have a paddle attachment for a drill and it is super hard to hang onto.

      @@countrylathersoapworks I spent a little time making soap for a business. For it I bought several identical cheap stick blenders. They had enough power just not enough duty cycle. 3 stick blenders was what I needed for a 10kg batch to not burn out the motors. Cost me all of 30$ (looks like 40$ would do it now)
      Once the soap hits a certain viscosity a bit after trace, the effective area being stirred is pretty small, and around then a paddle becomes more efficient. For soaps that try to seize like pine tar a paddle was required since the stick blender was useless after about 20 seconds.
      This could also be my soap base I use castor oil (emollient) base rather than olive oil. I don't like the smell of olive oil soaps.
      when oven processing If you can seal your heating vessel you can save on the expensive ingredient of smell. (non metallized turkey oven bag) I never used more than about 1oz of essential oil for a 10kg batch. like 3/4 oz of mentha piperita oil, or 1oz pimenta racemosa essential oil in a 10kg batch.

    So you add the goatmilk after the cook? I’m a cold process maker but I want to switch to hot process and I can’t wrap my head around it 😆

    I’m considering making soap at home and have watched quite a few videos, but I’ve never seen the mix erupt before. Can you please tell me why it did that. Thanks in advance.

    • @countrylathersoapworks
      @countrylathersoapworks  Před měsícem +1

      This is a different method than most soapers use. It’s called the high temp hot process method. It erupts because of the oils being so hot and adding the lye solution fresh and hot.

    I have only made hot process in a crockpot and Love it. I want to make bigger batches. What size pot would you recommend for a 10lb and 20 lb batch? Love your videos ❤ or what would you say the rule of thumb is for sizing your pot? Double the size of the batter? Or triple the size?

    • @countrylathersoapworks
      @countrylathersoapworks  Před měsícem +1

      I use a 50 quart for 30 lbs and the eruption gets pretty close to the top so I would recomend a 50 quart for the 20 lbs batch. It doesn’t hurt if you have plenty of head room.

    psalms 37verse 11 the meek shall inherit the earth and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. im so glad to be able to show God i want him here instead of the suffering. and enjoy the earth God has made for us. peace, one minute we have it the next we dont. slippery that peace is to keep a hold. someday there we will lokk around and there will be an abundance of peace. hallalujah
