      Yes maybe some fans could even design my own game they would have to like free print a cartridge make artwork print out a quick try to find some way to convert the game into circuit put those circuits inside the split in half quart and then mash the baby and then boom you got a game it wouldn’t take long but if SEGA is too lazy to make stuff for the system then the fans are not!

      @@idaholana Agreed. Just looking at AAA Genesis titles like Paprium which also has amazing packaging shows there are people out there with the talent and resources to make it happen. They could also sell the game on Steam to help cover costs and I know people like me would still by a physical copy to play on real hardware.

      @@StandingUpForBetter yes and another thing the count is that SEGA Is it way too lazy to be released them so it just gets even harder to obtain and was like 2 ways to play those kind of games number one on real hardware which is pretty much expensive Number two emulators but hey I mean someone has made an entire series of scrapped games for the 32x showing how there was a lot more attention for the 32X than what it actually got

    Looking back, these graphics should have been enough to get Sega by for a few years. The Genesis was immensely popular and this should have added to it. But nobody saw the point with the Saturn about to come out. If they had just skipped the Saturn and made all of their games for the 32x until the Dreamcast came out, I think they would have succeeded.

    • @sc0tt1shpr1de4
      @sc0tt1shpr1de4 Před 4 lety

      Do you really think that they would have succeeded if they took this route?
      why do you think the Saturn only had a 1 year run, The Playstation 1 that's why dude, The Saturn couldn't compete with Playstation never mind the 32X trying to compete,
      I think if they took this route then the Ps1 would have sunk the Sega Ship long before the Ps2 did with the Dreamcast.
      I am not bashing on Sega here i think Sega was awesome, but this is just what happened.

    The 32x is pretty amazing in 2d performance. Sega has made many flubs with their consoles, starting with making Mega Drive compatible with Master System but requiring an adapter. Had they had more patience such that they merged and improved the Sega CD and 32X into the same addon such that it's mostly the same as a saturn (and the saturn wasn't a mess with a bajillion CPUs) they might have done a whole lot better and wouldn't have to call it quits early with the Dreamcast

    Virtua Fighter was god for the hardware but even with the glitches the Saturn version looked way better. This is coming from someone who owned the arcade version, 32x, Saturn, Nokia, PC and Astro Mini version. The 32x version scaled down the graphics so much, and it takes away from the arcade feel. It is good for the system but it is not better than the Saturn version. The 32x is a good 32x game, but for fans of the original arcade Virtua Fighter, it was not really the best solution.

    • @TechRyze
      @TechRyze Před 6 lety +4

      The ones with bad music are using only the Mega Drive sound chip, and using it poorly.
      The 32X hardware is great, but it costs cartridge space to store sound samples, and that was very expensive back then.
      I wish that, once The Mega CD was around for a year, that every major Sega Mega Drive / Genesis game was bundled with a CD as well as the cartridge.
      They could have provided both better music if you owned a Mega CD / SegaCD, plus added extra features such as sprite scaling / rotation or moving certain processes to the MCD CPU which was faster. They could also have added bonus 32X content to normal Mega Drive games, once the 32X was added.
      It would have been nice to see regular Mega Drive games like Bare Knuckle 3 / Streets of Rage 3 with a bundled CD for decent music, and perhaps high colour sprites, more voices or a 4 player mode if the 32X is attached and the CD inserted in the Mega CD.
      It would have provided a sales boost to many games that came with the enhanced CD, and avoided having to release an entirely new version, which had no hope of selling nearly as well as the original.
      In addition, the 32X power supply should have had connectors to support the Mega Drive and Mega CD with a single plug, or something else more practical than 3 huge adaptors.

      Going to disagree. Technologically you may be correct. But the Sega CD did not sell well, and it was owned by a VERY small minority of players, cross that with the CD + 32X, and you are in aingle percentage points of ownership.
      The 90s Sega proved why add-ons make somewhat financial sense but do not make last impressions. You will always be at the mercy of the host system.

      Being a hardware expansion, the system used a combination of 16 & 32-bit hardware.
      The same thing could be said of the Atari Jaguar (16 & 32-bit, really), and the Amiga 1200 / CD32 (32-bit).
      A software title is only as good as the developer and effort/time spent. Virtua Fighter and Virtua Racing are the games that really started to push the hardware.
      Most of the others are either rushed, severely limited by lack of cartridge capacity, or are simply cheaply enhanced Mega Drive games.
      The system could have offered much more, but Sega just were not committed to it. It was half-baked and put out to die under those circumstances. Massive shame.
