Yes! Every time I hear these theme music intros and outros it really makes me long for the days of a much simpler world that we lived in back then. That brass sound makes all of the music of these shows unique and very distinctive.
When I was kid growing up in Oklahoma I used to watch this show. Fran Tarkenton used to do commercials for a Ford dealership in Oklahoma City and at the end of each commercial a group of people would shout "That's Incredible!" and Fran would say "No, that's Southwest Ford!". Thank you for this nice piece of nostalgia.
We never missed an episode of this show when I was a kid, but I had no memories of what kind of stories they covered or what guests they had. Thanks for posting this. The truly incredible part is that we found this so interesting at the time. But this and "Real People" were highly rated shows. (Btw, I can't say or hear the words "that's incredible" without thinking of that intro!)
This show was the only reason to watch TV on Monday nights back in the early 80's. The one segment they did about the ghost in the Toys R Us gave me nightmares for weeks.
The one about the near-death experiences of people, who went to HELL scared me at 15! One guy said that he doesn’t drink or even swears anymore because he “DOESN’T want to go back to that place “ from his near-death experience!
@@mrScififan2 Oh, yes, I remember that one only too well. I was 10 at the time and I insisted on sleeping in my parent's room for nearly two weeks! It seems ridiculous now but at the time it scared the absolute poop out of me
Happy 40th Birthday of That's Incredible! Cathy Lee Crosby, Fran Tarketon (ex Minnesota Vikings quarterback), and John Davidson. That's just incredible what I thought it was. Thanks for playing this intro❄️🇺🇸😎📺🏈
i remember this show vividly. I watched it religiously every Monday night at I believe it was 8:00. I loved it when I was a kid. It also scared the bejesus out of me when they did the shows on 'real' ghosts!
This was one of my favorite shows growing up. I saw some amazing and cool things that wasn't on before and I loved It. It's like the television version of You Tube.
As many others have pointed out, the popularity of this show (and "Real People" before it) was the same as the popularity of CZcams and many forms of social media. We get to see things we've never seen before. And back in the early 80s, we only got it for about 23 minutes (without the commercials) a week! Now, you could watch 24 hours a day!
I love their incredible video clips at the end, three skydivers linked up, a few cats on someone's stove, a motorcycle driving through some flames! Extreme!
Yes! I’m the same way. I get so nostalgic when I hear old theme music or songs and intro/outro music and songs. They sure bring back a lot of memories. Seeing Fran, Cathy, and John again and them being so young looking is what is incredible now. Fran is 83 years old now. I remember watching him quarterback the Minnesota Vikings back before this show was created and I have always thought he was one of the greatest quarterbacks the NFL ever had. He is a very honorable and humble man. I always really liked John Davidson, too. Cathy was cute and I have no idea what she is doing these days. I’ll have to look her up. It’s just so hard to realize that this is 40 years ago.
This takes me back when my mom and grandmother were alive and right before the show my mom would cook me a homemade hamburger with my Strawberry Quick.😢
My favorite episode as a kid was the one where the dude was doing tricks with bubbles. He even made square bubbles. Does anyone else remember that episode?
Every time I think of that's incredible I think of my childhood, Monday night football, and that scary ass episode they did with the haunted toys r us store.
Hah. I totally remember watching this episode back then. At least, I remember the three "talkers" - The first guy could repeat another person's words simultaneously as they were being spoken. The second guy held the world's record as the fastest speaker in the english language and set a world record for reciting a long speech in less than a minute. The third guy could speak backwards (kaeps sdrawkcab). The other segments they mention, I cannot recall.
I remember this show! Used to watch it all the time! The one I remember the most was the fastest Rubic's Cube contest they had and I think those were kids that were doing it at that time! I can't believe how old-looking the film is. It sure beats anything that's on TV these days!
Yes! I remember the fastest Rubik’s Cube solvers that they had on the show. And, of course, this was back when the Rubik’s Cube was a brand new thing. A lot of young people think that they were first made just 20 years ago or something. But Rubik’s Cube is now 40 years old. It just doesn’t seem that long. This was one of my favorite shows, too, when I was in junior high school and early high school.
Oh, my. Hearing that intro music and seeing those three REALLY triggers memories for me of junior high school and early high school. My mother and late stepdad watched this show without fail every week and we loved it. I don’t remember exactly what night of the week it was on, but I definitely remember being sure that I finished my homework and got to the living room television (Which was one of those big wooden console TV’s) to watch this show. It makes me long for those days of being so young and living in a MUCH simpler world. No smartphones, DVD players, internet, “viral” STUPID Tik Tok challenges, constant breaking news on 24 hour news networks, and so many other things that weren’t even thought of yet that have literally taken over people’s minds now. The world truly was a much simpler and more settled place. The world has always been crazy to at least some degree, but it seems that now it has gone off the deep end and shows like this would never hold people’s attention or satiate their thirst for constant stimulation and sensational entertainment that is both VERY strange and disturbing. I miss the world of the 70’s and 80’s. Oh, and Fran Tarkenton was one of the GREATEST NFL players of all time. He is a very honest and honorable man. It makes me feel so old to know that he is now 83 years old. Anyway, sorry for the long comment, but this intro really brought back a lot of memories for me and I felt the need to say what all I said here. Thank you for posting this intro and it is very good quality for being such old footage. It looks like it came from the original Master Tapes of the show.
For 25 years I got memories of this show, snippets & images here & there, but could never remember what it was called, then while watching "Poltergeist", Jobeth Williams' character, Diane Freeling mentions the name of the show. They don't make good shows like this anymore.
I'm just watching Inside Edition and they were catching up on John Davidson just now and I was like wasn't he on that show that's incredible cuz I was like maybe 7 8 years old watching that show that I loved with my father and my little brother wow memories
Hey, did Fran Tarketon used to play for the Minnesota Vikings, and Cathy Lee Crosby from the 1974 movie Wonder Woman? And remember that TV show in the late '70s-early '80s? That's incredibly what I thought. Thanks for the memories 😉🇺🇸🗽🦅🛣️
Yep, I believe it was in a Toys R US somewhere mid-west. I also had a paperback book on That's Incredible and featured a corner of a building seemed to walk away from the main building.
This famous tv show from the early 1980's that I remember very well, was very similar to later ABC tv show in the '80's of "Ripley's Believe it or Not!". After watching "Believe it or Not", it appears that "Believe it or Not" existed a long time earlier, on either television, the cinemas, or perhaps the radio, since all those incredible and unbelievable acts go as far back as the early 1900's, and the late 19th century.
I used to love this show. In seventh grade, one of my teachers gave us an assignment every week to watch "60 Minutes" and it was on against this so I was so mad. It was before VHS machines so I'd try to catch this during the commercials. I'd like to see the MGM Fire one! I remember when that happened (I live in Las Vegas) and we were watching it from our driveway. One of the firefighters was my cousin. I didn't know they put in on That's Incredible. I agree, this seems super-cheesy now!
I do remember that one. SO COOL Does anyone remember the High Diving Mules, on That's Incredible?? They were my next door neighbors in Florida. I've been looking for a clip of that for ever
How is it that something that is so obviously cheesy and practically unwatchable to us now was not so 25 years ago? I was 12 when this show was on and I remember loving it. It's really strange how the perceptions of an entire society can change so much in such a relatively short amount of time.
I suddenly have the urge to scarf down three bowls of Count Chocula, play with a Stretch Monster, and rip around the block on a Green Machine.
Wow I know what you mean man LOL
That’s Stretch Armstrong, buddy! 😅
im freakin here coz my family always used to say 'THAT'S INCREDIBLE' in unison when we watched the show!!..memories...
I love this show as a kid
I love those high trumpet orchestras from late-70s thru early-80s tv shows. Got character, man.
Dallas, CHiPs, you know.
Sure

We were watching it in Greece in the '80's when I was a child!
I used to watch this program every Sunday night. I was in Jr. Highschool at the time. It was a great program, leaning experience!
WOW, I can't believe I used to watch this show!! It sure brings back a lot of good memories, though.
Doesn't it though?
We never missed an episode of this show when I was a kid, but I had no memories of what kind of stories they covered or what guests they had. Thanks for posting this. Are you there? Are you still alive?
Loved this show!
sritger Remember the one where the guy drowned?
This show was the only reason to watch TV on Monday nights back in the early 80's. The one segment they did about the ghost in the Toys R Us gave me nightmares for weeks.

I used to have a paperback book of "That's Incredible" stories a long time ago that I ordered from The Weekly Reader in school.
Same!!
I soooo want this show on DVD! ;)
They look so excited. Must see TV in 1981 for me.
I was 10 when this started and I loved the show. Never missed it.
i remember this show vividly. I watched it religiously every Monday night at I believe it was 8:00. I loved it when I was a kid. It also scared the bejesus out of me when they did the shows on 'real' ghosts!
Just remembered this show and did a quick utube search thinking no one else would remember it. Thanks for proving me wrong.
John Davidson looks like a giant Ken doll.
Eric Bischoff from WCW
Charlie I met him a couple of times two years ago. Nice fellow.
Bullshit. Ken dolls look like John Davidson
@@northvilletunnels you mean anatomically.
Charles is GAY

This show was awesome.
that was one of my shows. I love it. THAT'S INCREDIBLE!
I had a huuuuuuuuge CRUSH on her back in 1983 when I was 10yrs old. wow.
Look at that HAIR ON JOHN DAVIDSON!!!
That's some Ron Burgandy Hair for ya!
This was such a great show! Used to watch it every week.
I only knew about this show because of I love the 80's. I was born in 1981.
Monday nights at 8 pm on abc. I definitely love the brass sound intro of the show. I'm a theme song fanatic.

OMG! I remember when this show premiered!

I used to love this show!! ^_^
Boy does this bring back memories.
This was my favorite show!
John Davidson's hair: now THAT'S incredible!

Great 70s show a classic

Brings back memories. I remember when I thought this was the best show on TV!
Still is

Northern Ontario viewed this series when our YTV (Youth TV Network) channel started September of 1988.

Look, i'm sorry that it had to be this way, but we needed you Adam! You were the best Head of Security that a company like this could ask for!
we also only had like 3 channels to choose from and no internet! This show was like gold
This show watched in Spain when I was young.
The way John Davidson used to run down to the stage... You knew he meant business.
