Same, it feels the most gamey out of the Team Silent games imo, even though they're all pretty similar aside from 4 I suppose

Yes, it is shown throughout the game Alessa loves books, one of her favourites shown at the end being The Lost World, hence the pterodactyl like monsters - they are taken from her memories
And also just cause I wanna say them even if nobody cares
Dogs = Alessa's fear of Dogs
Mumblers = her memories of her cruel, bullying classmates
Twin Feeler and Moth Boss fights = her love of bugs (she used to collect them)
Puppet Doctors and Nurses = her memories of the doctors and nurses at Alchemilla, under control by the cult and Kaufman
Only enemy I'm not sure on are the mumblers

I don't necessarily feel old, just kinda happy. Happy that it sparks that kind of happy memory and nostalgia feeling, especially since I was a real young kid watching my brothers play "grown up games" like RE and FF7, I just knew I was in for a wild ride and mentally steeled myself lmao. Makes me wonder if the youth these days feels the same about hearing an Xbox360 bootup and whatnot.
Silent hill 1 was actually the favourite in japan. The japanese were actually disappointed that the 2nd SH wasnt as scary as this one.
Supremely grateful that you played all three of these games so that someone like me can fully understand the appeal of them.
Also, after hearing the "voice acting" in Ascension, this sounds really good! I wonder why the memes about SH1's VA are there, because this sounds good to me. Am I crazy? Am I nuts?
At the time the ideal for graphics and voice acting was realism, it was harder to distinguish between artistic choice and hardware limitation.

If only Bloober and Konami weren't just bending to hype culture and remastered this game first. I've always found it superior over the second game. They're both good but I've never understood how or why the second overshadows this one so much.

Silent Hill 2 may have been a storyline bottled into a jug of perfection but Silent Hill 1 will always be my favorite. SH1 to me, is RE3 for Bawk.
Used to speedrun this game as well, but I've never hit any major records or anything. Bawk's time here was better than any of my runs.
I haven’t played Silent Hill in awhile. I happen to have at least the first 3 on my PS3. Granted, apparently I do have the supposedly bad HD collection of 2 and 3, which I haven’t gone back to check for myself, but maybe soon I will. I just prefer them on the console over PC just because of the convenience of it really for me. I will say, I too enjoyed SH3 a lot too, even though I know 2 is supposedly the better one. Granted I know the Shakespeare puzzle in the beginning does not help to show people why I think 3 is really good.
The shakespeare puzzle you reffer to is only a problem on hard riddlle difficulty

No, passes are all about FOMO and player retention, Patreon is not gameified. You subscribe at a certain tier and gain instant access to all available historical content.
@@ivangenc i'm not saying it's directly a one-to-one equivalent, but battle passes are about additional content that you pay for, and a lot of streamers use Patreon for that - offering patreon-only content to those that will pay for it.

@@ivangenc If streamers had the option of having battle passes on their channel, the only thing i could think of that the battle pass could include would be:
- Early content
- Additional content
- Cosmetics (like extra emotes)
I can't think of anything else that could be in a battle pass for a youtube channel. These options are already available to streamers (they can use patreon to implement early / additional content and the member perks can be used for emotes i think), so my point is i don't think it would change anything really (it might change HOW you pay for the extra things but i don't think it would really change what content the streamers give for free and what content is pay-exclusive).
I honestly think 1 is the best game.

Nowadays it seems an old and easy game, but, you know, 24 years ago this game was terrifying thousands of people, including me, and man, those puzzles today seem easy because we got the answer in a simple google search, but it could take literally hours to make some of those by yourself.
I love how you got to the school in less than 15 minutes while i usually take an hour getting lost 🥲

sh1 is way better than any other sh game. sh2 is overhyped garbage with no personal story and path for character. there are just a bunch of psychos with child trauma that a running around the city and kills all suspense and the feeling of loneliness, that was in the sh1/3 that were more personalized. also the cult plot for SH is logical instead of some devil town for atonement of your sins bullshit.
Ascension has a maximum of 4 people watching at once.
