  • I head to the Hafren Forest for a walk to the Source of the River Severn. Following the River up the Cambrian Mountains and seeing the cascades and waterfalls as the Uk's longest river begins its life.

great video. it really is a lovely place, and I appreciate they took real effort to make it as accessible as possible for people. Best bit of that walk is the one person bench with a great view!

The trek was amazing, I do prefer to be walking by water though. I don't know about strength, but I can walk a bit further than when I first started the walking hobby just over a year ago. Thank you for watching 👍🏻

Superb video Andy, really enjoyed this.
Did the same walk myself several years ago and it's bought back fond memories.
    Many thanks for sharing 👍

Thank you, Shaun. I saw the walk on a CZcams video a while back and decided to give it a go a couple of weekends back. Really enjoyed it to be honest, and I think I will visit the forest again at some point. Thank you for watching, glad it's bought back nice memories 👍

Andy this looked like a fabulous walk with all of that rushing water of The Severn , interesting to hear this river is 220 miles long ! It was so relaxing watching the river flow as you walked through beautiful trees , loved the boardwalk provided there. The footage at the end of hills/ mountains was stunning. Loved the thumbs up ! 😃 👍 ~ Anna

Hi Anna, and thank you for watching. It was a lovely walk that I really enjoyed. So peaceful as I hardly met anyone along the way. I did not realise I was climbing as the scenery kept me entertained on the way up. I think it helped walking this the day after a lot of rain as the river was cascading beautifully. I have seen videos where the marker post at the top is dry. Thanks again.

Great video. A friend introduced me to this place and I fell in love with it. It is my aim to walk to the spruce this year.

I fell in love with the place, too. I would like to go back and follow the river the other way to the waterfalls. The Spruce? Thank you for watching and commenting. All the best, Webby 👍

Fantastic Webb. I watched all of that and enjoyed every step. The Hafren Forest is an awesome place. I've seen it from various angles but a walk through is no doubt inspiring. Well, I can see how inspiring. It's a water world - you chose the right time for sure. Love the top there at source. Been in and around there numerous times and always enjoy the peat hags. It's an interesting space. Well, good going. All the best. Mark

@@WebbysWalks A pleasure Webb. A decent first time I'd say - loads of water and super green. See you back there.

@@WebbysWalks No, not done that, I never thought about that till I saw your vid. It's one for the future tho!

Excellent video Andy. Love the way you capture the scenery. I followed a river up into the hills once when I was at school to find the source and this vid brought back the memories. Im possibly doing the West Highland Way this year and watched a lot of vids but one from a young girl called Tiny Pine Outdoors was beautifully shot as well. Been out injured with cracked ribs and covid type virus so need to build up the fitness. Going round the Highlands on the train and bit of bus next week so gonna do a small walk in eaxh town.Inverness.Wick.Thurso.Kyle of Lochalsh.Portree .Mallaig Oban and Glasgow. Gonna film it but since Ive got time for editing when O get back .gonna take lots of video shots with me not speaking then I can try adding subtitles.voiceovers .music overlays .plenty of bagpipe music. Im drawing the line at walk pasts though! Got a selfie stick for holding the phone and an external mike so be nice to have a trial video.

Thank you, John. I would love to do the Highland Way. From the videos I've seen, it looks like one of the best trails in the UK. I will check out the video you recommend when we get home. I'm with the family on a spontaneous weekend away in Weymouth. I managed to get a bit of footage yesterday (Spoiler Alert). I hope to get back to Anglesey soon once the weather picks up, as I don't want to divert from the proper path too much. Thank you for watching this one. I hope to go back to the Hafren Forest as well as there were a few more walks I would like to do. All the best with your recovery, Andy

I'm not sure. The ground looked very uneven for most of the walk, but there were other pathways that I did not try. Thank you for watching, it's a great walk. Thank you for watching. Let me know how you get on, if you head over. All the best, Andy 👍
