took my 13,11,10@8 year old children to see them last month. When they came on stage my 8 year old stated balling. In between gasp for air she was saying ITS THEM. The cops and there security came to check on her. When I told them she was just happy to see them. The cop took my daughter and let her sit on the rail right in front of the stage. she says it was the best day of her life.

TRUE LOVE STORY! My husband and I were neighbors for several years. We saw each other in passing but were both kind of shy. One evening I was walking my dog and he was outside on his balcony. He got the courage to shout to me asking "If you could listen to any song right now, what would you choose?" I stopped for a moment and looked at my playlist and after having just heard this song, I told him "Crystalized by Young the Giant!" I shyly walked away and then heard him playing it a few minutes later. It was sort of awkward trying to ignore him playing this when I thought about how intense the lyrics were.."when the beat of my heart..." But to this day as a married couple three years later we sit in our beautiful backyard listening to this song and argue over who really asked who on the first date after he broke the ice with that question. 🥰💕😍🎵❤️

I spent the longest time looking for this song because I didn't know who sung (sang?) it. All I "knew" was that it was called The Beat of My Drum. But finally after a long time I made it.

This sounds great. While a slightly different sound from these guys, it's still great. I wasn't expecting them to stay the same, that's what makes the band (like any other band) so great.

Still here & I still love this song. It helped me through high school. Everything car rides getting my self through tons of bullshit. I would pay good money to have these guys play at my wedding or some shit. I love them. ♥️ takes me back to simpler times when I would watch the fault in our stars in my bedroom. Eating brownies I told my mom I would bring in for my birthday to share with everyone. I did not. So much past events to make you the person you are today… am I right
This band and their music is absolutely jaw dropping
I'm liking this new approach to their music, being a mix of their laid back stuff and their 'my body' upbeat type of stuff. I just hope it isn't the label forcing them to do this.
I remember discovering the Jakes when I was in high school, back in 2008 or 2009 from some website called PureVolume. I immediately fell in love. I kept up with them my first few years in college, when they became Young the Giant and put out their first album.
When they released their second album, it had been a few years later and I hadn't listened to them for a while. I was actually hesitant to ever listen to it because I was afraid that it wouldn't be as good as the original album that I always knew and loved.
So many years later, now in 2023, I randomly thought of them and looked them up to see that they have several more albums now. I actually listened to this one and man...I have missed out on so much over the past decade. So glad to see they blew up and became big.

I hope I could watch a concert or gig of them someday ❤ much love and support for their music.. some* people don't realise that musicians continually grow and create their own music regardless of who influenced them, they continue to produce their music their sound their lyrics and sometimes i wish people would just listen and appreciate. ❤✌✌✌

I saw them perform at the Hammerstein ballroom in Manhattan on March 1st. I even met the drummer Francois Comtois and took a picture with him. Such a cool guy, an amazing night that I will never forget

I'm in love with this song. I don't think it's a huge departure from their previous album. Perhaps "It's About Time" is a different sound, but this song reminds me of their first album. And it's all good. This band can do no wrong in my eyes. Can't wait to hear them live!

His voice is great. If you want to acquire a well-positioned view of an artist/band listen to their live material, and Young the Giant kills live. Listen to/watch their "In The Open" videos and I think you can come to appreciate their progression just as much as their specific sounds from album to album. It's not about you and your opinion, it's about musical expression and Young the Giant, no matter what "genre" you might think their sound evolution belongs in, has incredibly genuine musical expression.
