This engine has a huge heavy crankshaft and long stroke meaning it is not a high rpm fast revving engine, it makes its power at low rpm and is good for leisurely rides with little need to constantly be shifting gears. A way of driving modern cyclists have totally forgotten how to do, everyone has been programmed for speed and racing or getting thrills from speed and noise not cruising slowly to enjoy scenery and the trip.
You can ride this bike anywhere as long as it’s not extended highway riding. Highway riding is boring and I avoid it as much as possible on a motorcycle. Most of my riding is under 50 mph. Implying that this bike or any of the RE 350s are only got for short stints on the road “to get coffee” in “a city” is kind of bs. Anyone could easily bang out 100 miles in an afternoon on the hunter, meteor or classic and probably have more fun than someone on a big bagger or super sport.
i think i'd enjoy this bike in rural England with winding country lanes - very different from the roads shown in this review! I don't think i saw a single corner
The hunter is not designed for freeway riding at all. Take it around the country roads of the UK and it really comes into it's own. I own one and I am delighted with the way it performs and it keeps up with much bigger and heavier bikes on the roads here in the UK. On your review ride you don't even get off the freeway. You also like to take it to the rev limiter all the time which is not where the engine works best. This is not a good bike for you.
Agree that the hunter is not designed for freeway/highway but in the US that’s hard to avoid to some degree, so use case in the US isn’t as solid. I also don’t take my bikes to the rev limited but just noticed how quickly it hit the limiter on the hunter
@@IronBornRider What you have to remember is it isn't an 1800cc Harley and to give the bike justice you need to get on roads that you don't have in America. I love the Hunter because we have very tight twisty and hilly roads where a 350 is just as nimble as the 1200 adventure bikes. You reached the rev limiter because you expected a little too much from the bike on the roads you ride on. These are the roads I ride on czcams.com/video/Dh7OwreDwLA/video.html
I've been riding for over 40 years...and you can tell this guy is a hot shot! (Or at least thinks he is) This bike is not a Ninja...nor was it meant to be. These bikes are built to ride...and enjoy the ride...not to see who gets there first. Kick back, relax, and just enjoy the view. In other words....CHILL OUT! LOL
Hot shot? lol ok. I ride a Harley so I’m not pressed to get anywhere first. These bikes are built to ride? Aren’t all bikes built to ride? I’m not sure where you’re going with this comment but I’m reviewing the hunter with urban riding and suburban riding in mind, and for he latter I want something with a little more grunt to keep up with traffic.
I got a Harley sporty for a grand. So, frugality is the key to getting a bike to me. I've been recently looking at the Enfield and fell in love with them and Triumph but first, the price HAS TO be low enough for a student can afford (and even if you aren't in school)
Got one, handles great in town and on the twisties. Not fast but sits on 65mph all day and when run in feels Ok at 70/ 75mph but there's not much after that. It is however great fun to ride and I use it way way more than my other bike.
Ha, I should have figured I was taking/you! I know it’s not the Maryland Motovlogger ride we had planned, but great to meet you and ride out on a rainy day! I even get 2 seconds of fame (@6:27) of your video. You’re probably in mine as well.

Bro, you need to understand what purpose this motorcycle fits and what generation it is aimed at! This is a beautiful motorcycle built specifically for city riding and aimed at GenZ, people from the ages of 18-27. For what it is made for, is has been absolutely successful, just do a little bit of more research and look up the sales worldwide, especially in India! No offense, but you need to be unbiased when it comes to motorcycles thay don't fit "your personal taste" :)
3 year warranty.
Unbeatable in the industry.
Don’t linger in low gear at high revs.
Use the torque at low revs.
Stay off the limiter and you’ll have a more enjoyable ride.
Sound advice.
Great points

For city riding this bike is a 100% win
Agreed

Would you say it'd be decent on a mountain highways.. even two-up?

Agreed. It would’ve been better for the demo route to be more windy and twisty vs the large stretch of straight roads

Yeah to me it was very reminiscent of my grom. Compact and very agile, and loads of fun around town
always wanted one of the old bullets in the military olive drab green
That would be very cool

I do dog walks in the city, think this would be a good one???
Sure why not
Nice little scooter.
The bike is great. The review, not so much. Typical I ride demo bikes for 30 minutes for clicks deal.
“The bike is great”…that’s your take? So insightful. Typical basement dwelling keyboard warrior comment.

Did you watch the video? I made all those points in the video….and I have a largely US subscriber base so the review is with that context as well.
Penultimate??? That literally means next to last. How is this motorcycle the next to last symbol of freedom?
Ultimate, maybe. Penultimate? Nope. 😂
