Trombone Tuning Slide Dents: Using Mandrels (Video 1 of 2)

There are two techniques to remove dents in trombone tuning slides. This video is about how to remove dents in the part of the crook near the slide tubes. The other video about how to remove the dents in the curved part of the crook will be published next Monday.

Do you put any lubricant on the dent ball? Just to make it slide a little better and reduce friction. I have heard some people use Vaseline.

Sometimes I use valve oil. Vaseline or slide grease works too. Thank you for mentioning that.

can i put a steel ball into the tuning slide and use a magnet ?

The balls will be too small for the magnet to have enough pull on them.
