    This is an easy job, and should be done at every oil change. The MultiAir filter WILL eventually clog up, and your MultiAir unit will be toast. It may not be necessary to swap the filter if the mesh looks good, but that will fray over time so maybe every third oil change get a new filter.
    I'm convinced 90% of MultiAir unit failures are caused by blocked filter.

    Just performed today the cleaning of this filter on my Fiat Bravo 1.4multiair 2012/205k. It looked terrible of dirt when took it out. I can say that it didn t had more than 50-60% efficency the way it was looking. Cleaned it properly good with breaks spray and now it looks like brand new one. Cheers!

    Very nice video! I really want to buy a multiair giulietta. Your car looks very clean, so i suppose its a newer model, but do you know about some high mileage multiairs ? Can it do over 200 000 km ? Also do you think the engine will suffer with short journeys ?

    • @SlowFord
      @SlowFord  Před 3 lety +1

      My wife's Giulietta multiair it is a 2013. It has almost 100.000km and still drives like the first day. It is a very good built car. Just stay away from the older ones, 2010-2011, they have some problems with the multiair unit. I used the Giulietta for almost 2 years only on short journeys, 5-10km per day. Now we use it for 10-20km per day. Yes, you can use it for short journeys. ✌️

      @tyronpepler7842 Před 3 lety +2

      I've got a 2013 multiair and she's clocked over 160k doing an avarage of 25km per day. If maintained well, she won't break your heart or your bank. I switched over on 120k to a TD04 tubro so I'm not sure if the stock turbo will last that long? But you'll be safe getting a high mileage one if she was maintained well 👌

    Wenn der Filter zu weit rein gedreht wurde, aber dann zurück gedreht wurde auf den 1mm. Kann da was dabei kaputt gegangen sein? Ich meine unter dem Gewinde einen Riss im Guss zu sehen und hab jetzt natürlich Angst die Multiair-Einheit geschrottet zu haben. Werde nach den nächsten Fahrten mal auf Ölaustritt prüfen.

      Du muss eigentlich der Filter nicht so tief rein drehen. Sobald dass er flach mit der multiair-Einheit ist, noch 1mm rein drehen. Es gibt nicht etwas drin dass du kaputt machen kannst.
