Wireless are cool for multiple choices like you mention but one thing I hate the most, turning your head left to right .... the wires sometime pulls the earphones out of the ear having to always push them back in.

With true wireless I'd be worried about them falling out of my ears while running at night and then you won't be able to find it. Even if it's a snug fit, the bouncing motion from running and exercise will cause them to fall off. With my current wired ones I still have to push them in every few minutes while working out, but if they do pop out I know they won't be lost

I like options, I have a wired over the ear, 2 wired in the ear (not the best), an old wireless in ear (doesn't last anymore). Need: Wireless Bluetooth in ear headphones (long lasting and maybe noise cancelling), over the ear hybrid (wireless/wire) with Bluetooth & noise cancelling (it's never quiet even in the library) , and the sleep/headband headphones when I have to wake up early.

Single ear use is the only thing that makes "true wireless" necessary. I love single ear mode as I usually need to hear my surroundings and mostly listen to standup comedy or podcasts. Only music needs stereo sound (both ears).
