He beat a drained, injured, 2 yrs removed from the ring, couldn't spar spence. He was overtrained and dehydrated, spence was running mountains in 108 degree weather 3 days b4 the fight. He took back giving him the 154 rematch and was forcing spence to 47 even though he openly stated he was goin to 54. Ward spits the truth and then he starts the capping. For example, people give Canelo shit for John Ryder, but Ryder been in the ring against better comp than David Benavides has so far. Ryder fought Callum Smith who won a 168lbs tournament David didn’t even try to compete in and most thought he won. He defeated Danny Jacobs and undefeated Zack Parker who Andrade ducked. I’d say Ryder accomplished more than most Buds opponents and I’m a die hard fan of Buds, but to try to even insinuate Bud has faced more number 1’s than Canelo is hating. Canelo fought both Trout and Lara at 154 and 155, but most thought Lara was the best at 154. GGG at 160 and he won undisputed at 168 while David was losing titles from hard drugs and missing weight.

Personally I do want Bud to fight & beat Boots first before Bud moves up to 154. Other than that I want Crawford to fight Charlo at 154 first cause Charlo never lost his titles, so he's really still undisputed at 154. It’s not different then Canelo really, because GGG was the other best fighter in the division, and a p4p guy himself at the time. Only thing is Crawford just fought the top guy recently and Canelo it’s been a minute. But realistically Canelo has taken big risks across his career, and stepping up to take Bivol at a weight Canelo prolly shouldn’t even be fighting at is just as dangerous (I’d argue more dangerous) than Bud fighting Spence.

Bud beat the best fighter at 147 over at PBC, cause besides Kell, he never faced anyone outside PBC. Thurman act like he’s an ATG just off Danny, who has no big wins at 147 and Porter who Kell already beat. Spence was really good at the time, but if you’re only fighting guys under your banner, you’re not the best. Canelo fights anyone with the highest profile and to get there you have to be good unless you’re Ryan Garcia.
