Was just thinking how Chaos Ruler was a ban not on many people's radar, as it's what gets decks that run it off
Touching chaos ruler will only make Tearlaments more oppressive and unfair in the end. Hurting dragon links and branded will not stop tearalaments from being overly ridiculous (Ishizu cards) and the abused milling in itself does make Punk and adventure less viable for Tears. It will only lower down the ceilings of other decks in the end.

I would keep him for the fact that Choas Ruler is strong, but not exactly splashable. You have to run a deck with a majority of darks and lights. Said dark and lights must be useful in your hands or in the GY. I generally find Applousa, Ishizu, Baronne de fleur and Niburu far more problematic in the formats for being ridiculously generic. The fact you have to think whether to run Chaos ruler dragon while Baronne de Fleur and Applousa is a “no duh” is annoyingly absurd.
@@justice8718 Extremely later, but dancin cause Chaos Ruler is now banned everywhere (TCG, OCG, and Master Duel) and I feel like the only one who called it.

adventure was limited in ocg when splight and tear was released, so their tcg version is going to be much more annoying to deal with
Eldlich and swordsoul are already annoying, gotta add those 2 to the list.
Adventurer kinda beats tearalament's entire wincon though

For anyone not in the know Splight was tier 0 in the ocg and what finally got Halq banned.
Rip Halq 2018 to 2022.

No Rip for Halq, Rip for all those tuners he’s responsible for getting banned.
halq ban had little to do with splight. It had little to do with anything relevant in the meta at the time. It was more like a very late ban after it stopped doing much which is puzzling to me.
@@stewrat0420 splight did have a hand in banning halq. I imagine they were thinking of banning halq for a long time but were still on the fence, but seeing as it was being abused by a tier 0 deck, even if it wasn't a make or break card for the deck, they finally had a good excuse to ban it, and especially since the splight cards themselves were too new to get hit, halq, along with toad, had to kick the bucket.

print broken cards -> ban them -> print new ones -> ban them, they either don't know how to print balanced archetypes and keep them making the game diverse, or they doing it on purpose so all players buy the new meta cards, only to hit them next ban-list.

I completely disagree, etele and adventure are not being played in splight and tear so far from the testing people are doing, and those are pretty much the only cards that make other decks remotely playable, limiting them on the banlist would just buff splight and tear.
@Casswury I would want them to Keep Adventure, PUNK, and Choas Ruler around so Dragon Links can have the potential of becoming the third meta deck. A meta with only two relevant archetypes will be a bore fest.

No one seems to note that by the time they came to the ocg adventurer was already dead, so the newest winda turbo deck, tearalament, didn't have to play against everyone's one card easily accessible commonly played out being rite
Splight will probably be in a better position, but ever since I've started following the ocg, which was a little before bode, I've noticed their tier 1/2 decks have never fully translated to tcg success
Ofc there's the infamous pk copium, but besides them, floodgate eldlich wasn't that good here, flunder was tier 2 at best after two banlists which significantly decreased the power level of the game, adventurer tenyi wasn't great due to banlist reasons
You could make an argument for despia, but they had similar representation numbers for like 2 weeks before dropping, and ocg despia played adventurer, which isn't a popular variant here despite the adventurer cards being unhit, while the ocg had rite and aquamancer at 2 at that point
Spyral, zodiac, true Draco, Pends, all of these decks were tier 0/1 in the OCG and translated here. The only difference was max C at 3 and some other “minor things” like Vanity’s

And with mr4 being a soft reset of the game, format differencrs are not expected at the start
After a while mr4 started to differenciate, for example during the eternal format the two best ocg decks were striker and dlink, the latter only becoming good in the tcg in like summer-autumn 2020, over a year later, during this time orcust was doing well in the ocg, which wasn't possible here due to harp's ban
The only parallel in recent times I can think of comes during the vw/tri zoo/drytron meta, which happened in both formats, other than that it's usually wastly different

@@andrejv.2834 so here is the thing. In early 2017-2019 the ocg and TCG meta games were extremely similar with the same decks roaming around. Also, in 2020, our metas were similar with 1 pretty big difference. We didn’t have Dragoon. But the same decks, invoked, altergeist and orcust were still around. also, Striker, which has been up and down in the OCG is top here since we still have mystic mine and they don’t
@@jeffreylebeaux6141 2020 wasn't even close to similar, adamancipator was irrelevant in the ocg and synchro eldlich wasn't a thing, since duel devestator brough a lot of late releases it caused major differences along with the january 2020 banlist
2019 wasn't really similar, as there was never a "big 4" which defined the tcg meta
Not having dragoon for a while also meant invoked dragoon never existed, the deck that caused his ban in the ocg wasn't played in favor of the dogmatika variant, and due to banlist reasons
Sky striker is basically the only deck that appears in both formats constantly and at similar times relative to set releases

If Konami actually did banlists well, I think we'd prob be fine, but what makes it worse is how many generic win conditions/OP engine cards there are atm. Chaos Ruler, Scythe, Halq, etc. I'm definitely hyped for POTE due to all the cool support so many decks are getting, but Tearlaments and Sprights are just depressing to have in the upcoming format, ESPECIALLY with the dumb splashability of Brave, PUNK, etc. in these decks.
But if they hit griffon, they hit plunder

Chaos Ruler is definitely getting banned. Which sucks badly since this might singlehandedly kill Dragon Link.
@Casswury Literally every single generic splashable card had this exact story. When Verte got hit, Thundra, Branded Tri and many others became useless. When Halq gets hit, it’ll only be the Rogue decks that needed him that will get hurt. And yes, Chaos Ruler is absolutely getting banned, ESPECIALLY if new mill cards are coming out.
@Casswury Mill 5 and add potentially handtraps and extenders, and free body for link climbing 2 times. This card is busted as fuck, and will go. And the reason new milling cards are coming is EXACTLY the reason it will get banned. Thats Konami 101.

Sprights are gonna DOMINATE the TCG and become Tier 0. They are already dominating the meta in the OCG
They ALMOST WERE when Toad was legal. Now that Toad is banned, Teara is at 50% Meta share
I would argue 0.5. Tearlaments (or however you spell it) are gonna be really good too.
Because they search Maxx C which is banned here… Splite will be amazing but not Tier 0 here…
Tearalaments are the best deck in the OCG and will keep Sprite at bay in TCF

I quit playing Yugioh 2 years ago because me and my friends got tired of all the BS powerful cards. Wish I could go back
I think you are hard overestimating the splight and tears, they are not that bad. As a player who's been in for a long time this isn't as bad as pepe or Zoo so I think everyone should calm down and just play the game
Tears only get truly bad when they get earth fairy cards. Hitting PUNK and Adventure is outright foolish. When in practice , those two engines don’t merge well with Splights and Tears. Tears need fusion prices (which Punk can’t offer) and their absurd millings is counteractive with Adventure’s design. Splights need to play level-2 monsters in their entire main deck, or else their cards outright don’t function.
It's just hype because of ocg results like usual, and yugitubers gotta profit off of it
When was the last time an ocg deck fully translated to similar success in the tcg? Like tri zoo maybe
And before them sky striker, and before them spyral but that was with the soft game reset that was mr4
In other cases our meta parallels either don't happen at the same time or not at all, remember adventurer pk for example
@Casswury The only deck that will likely keep using Adventure and PUNK in top levels (especially after Ishizu) is Dragon Links, which will get a big boost in the Darkwing blast set and the leaked Choas Dragon SD.
@Casswury I don't think he will be power crept in the next set exactly, but he demonstrates that he is not stupidly generically nor is he badly designed as people make him out to be. They are going to lose their minds when Ishizu drops and realize that Kitkalos is way more unfair than Chaos ruler could ever be.
