Ya'll....I don't understand this whole dumpster diving thing. My mother had me doing it as a kid in the 80's and let me tell you we did NOT make videos about it, nor brag about it. It left lasting scars on me and I would never recommend it to my children. If it is in the TRASH it is there for a reason....it is not good.

Also, literally found 2 new perfumes that had a tag stuck on the boxes them saying 'item not found in system'. It was my favorite too. I'm not mad about that. Anyway, you do you. My Daughter, 2 Grand Daughter's (Ages 6 & 8) & I Used to go a Couple of Times a Week to Various Shopping Centers that Didn't have the Incinerators yet. Ulta was Always our 1st Stop, for Several Months we were hitting the Jackpot on Straighteners, Curling Irons, Etc. Of Course, the Cords would be cut but my daughter knew how to Repair All 27 of them! We Didn't really get Pallets or Anything like that. The last time we checked there they had Literally Dumped Pallets, Liquids, Etc in ALL THE BAGS & SPRAY PAINTED "F*** YOU" ON THE DUMPSTER! We Still Do Awesome With Half Price Books for Whole Family. My Grandkids love going there. We always take Boxes for the Books. They also love Five Below. Our Bath & Body Works Stores Dumpsters are Nowhere WE Can Find/Access Them. We've Looked Several Times.
No, it's not lame. Some of the people who go dumpster diving turn around and sell that crap on Mercari, etc. I know times are hard. I've felt the pinch myself. Moreover with groceries. Would you really take the risk of using some type of makeup product over your health? Remember, makeup isn't a necessity. I'm glad they're locking their dumpsters. No one needs to catch an eye infection or God forbid, Herpes 1, something that's going to stay with you for the rest of your life. That possible eye infection could cost someone more money in the long run too... SMH

You don't know who or what has come into contact with that product. You don't know if it is expired. They throw it away because it's probably been used by customers as testers or it is expired. Would you use expired products or take the testers home from a store? Just because it looks fine doesn't mean it's suitable for donation or use.
There are no laws against dumpster diving in most states. Of course it is frowned upon and if caught by employees they might tell you to get lost, but it’s not illegal in most states.
Makeup is the ONE THING id never dumpster dive for (if I ever did dumpster dive). Heck no. Edit: This also applies for lotions, and just anything that can expire. No no. I’d stick to bags (maybe), electronic stores, etc. Honestly idk cause I never have done this and never will (not judging, just saying 😊) so I’m not sure what I’d keep but definitely nothing with an expiration date.
As a former ulta employee. DON'T use the thrown away makeup or skin care. Even if it looks new, it's contaminated. Not worth it
