My father met Meyer in Cuba and always spoke highly of him. He was a quiet, wise, well respected man, whose word was his bond. I personally met him in 1973 in Miami, Florida during one of his many trials. He remembered meeting my father in detail although that had been in 1955. RIP Meyer.

Every organized criminal syndicate needs a financial genius. Prevents ( IRS ) issues. Increasing legitimate business opportunities over shadowing the illegitimate ones. Keeping a respectable low profile kept Lansky under the radar. Las Vegas was his El Dorado. As was Havana for a short duration of time. All in all till his legal problems started to haunt him.
