As a machinist and auto enthusiast myself, this video speaks volumes about HRE Wheels production process, and why the wheels cost what they cost. Aside from the CNC machining, which is basically a precision and time sensitive investment, these wheels are almost fully handmade and bespoke. Again, you get what you pay for! Not a boring video at all. Too bad it wasn't longer! LOL. Keep up the good work HRE...
@CIA Defector... Oh, I did. I just didn’t mention it in my comment. He should’ve said turn. He got a pass as he’s obviously not a machinist, but was very knowledgeable with the production process of the wheels.
As a tool maker i back this statement. This video also confirmed the price of these wheels are for a genuine reason and i can buy them with no doubt now
Well, you might be a machinist, but your not a business owner if you think that. I just see profit, profit, profit everywhere in this video. These guys must be making huge amounts of money. Sad thing is that people think that working for companies is a good thing. Its like being a slave, making other people rich.
(MSc mechanical engineer, own a machine shop and do custom wheels...)
@@revolveperformance what a stupid statement, after almost every USA wheel producer has to use China now to even stay in the black. You don’t think that most wheel producers would not prefer to use local employees instead of outsourcing? The problem is not about too much profit, competition always deals with that, the problem is what China is doing with almost every industry in the USA. Soon there will be zero jobs available, people will be dreaming of what you are calling “slave” work.
Did we watch the same video? Because he literally said he tries and minimize how much they do it by hand. These are not hand made or even close…
Some of the nicest wheels on the planet. I just wish I could afford them. 😩
ebay is ur best friend
That is exactly how to present such a company. Perfect vibes.
I'm a Cnc mill machinist in the aerospace industry, and I gotta say, this was a great video... very cool! Very interesting process! Not boring at all! 👍🏼
Very nice.
Very cool... Still can't afford them... But very cool
Love love HRE. Been a fan of their wheels for over a decade and this is an amazing video. Thanks for the tour and sharing it!
I could watch this all day long.
For a company on lock down with social distance, this vid was excellent. Going through every stage of making their wheels was amazing. Not many companies that I have seen, show an in-depth vid of their products, so I thank you for this Vid. I have seen HRE for many years and seen how they have developed over the years. Stunning wheels.
Amazing operation.
Thank you for the walk through
I’m very impressed... way more work and thought process in these rims than I thought. I’m going to get HRE wheels for my next Benz.
And we will be here to assist you with your purchase when you are ready.
Very impressive. An American manufacturing success story. Congradulations.
I feel like I just went through the ultimate adult Santa's workshop. What a great and informative tour.
Thanks for sharing
Glad to have Peltier family with such a great manufacturer.
It's awesome to see how my HRE wheels were made for C217 AMG - thank you! - and having worked with the WB I can highly recommend them as a great source for HRE and a bunch of other great gear
I could watch this video over and over. Also a nice surprise to see my center faces coming out of machining at 4:30. Amazing group of people at HRE.
I really enjoyed watching this. Awesome walkthrough! Want more of this!
Nathan Nguyen Hopefully a few other manufacturers could invite us to do the same!
simply wow. this is beautiful craftsmanship
im not so much of a car guy or a computer geek but I am a a guy that likes quality and you show that you put it in your product ,nice wheels sir !!
Excellent tour... Thanks for sharing
Thanks for showing your production process.
Awesome video, love the attention to detail and craftmanship shown. Makes me love my HRE wheels even more!
Amazing factory, now I understand how much work goes into the manufacture of each wheel hence the price. HRE all the way......
So dope, just beginning my dissertation on the sustainability of alloy wheels. Seeing the manufacturing process was a great insight. Thanks!
This is such an amazing video with regards to the manufacturing process that HRE undertakes! Thanks for filming this, I learned so much from it
Love my HRE wheels!!!! Alan, looks like you guys made some major improvements since last time I visited your facility. Say hi to the HRE family for me. Keep up the great work HRE!!!
Thanks for the tour. Nice to see that so much effort gets put into them little rollies :)
damn what an incredible process! i always knew HRE was the gold standard in forged wheels but I had no clue how much money you had invested. i wish more companies would do this, it's baffles me when i call a company for some basic shit and they tell me 2-3 months lead time...like damn i'm trying to impulse buy car parts don't tell me that!
HRE, thank you for manufacturing quality products in the USA!👍
Wow that’s high quality stuff. That’s why I have a set on my 997 😁
I love factory tours
even before this video, i knew that i'll purchase HRE, but now after i saw how its done, now i love them even more!
This is dope, thanks for the tour!
Yes, very dopey
I used this video for my engineering class, I had a Robert and choose to do HRE wheels and this video got me through half of it.
Always loved there wheels maybe one day I'll get some
Awesome. When I need wheels, you guys sold me!
We’ll be happy to assist you when you’re ready 🤙🏼
Wow !!! Made in USA !!!!!
very very very nice!!! I hope one day I have the money for such beautiful rims. Congrats. Nice design, nice work.
Now that I learned how the wheels are made from bare metal to fantastic racing designs are unbelievable, attention to detail and time consuming process, now I feel better paying 4-7k for the set of four, 😃
Reason why they are the best!!🔥🔥🔥
Just beautiful. This is what Mr Trump is talking about when he says "Make America great again". HRE is doing just that, they are the front line, making America great again, one wheel at a time. Recent events have bruised the image and reputation of American engineering, but HRE are helping to turn the tide. HRE wheels are becoming increasingly popular in Australia and for good reason. They are works of art...functional art. Love the video.
Ozgrade3 Australia: HRE America can keep. Australia can have “Mr” Trump.
@@RedEye19 Trump is the best President America has had since JFK. The rest of the world knows that. Heck even the Chinese are starting to realise the benefits to them from Trump. I can't imagine what the US would be like had that idiot Clinton got in. But one piiunt of difference. Unless the USA adopts universal healthcare the US is going to start falling behind other developed countries (Like Australia, UK Japan,Most of Europe)) who all have universal healthcare.
Thanks for the tour, I wish could have it for my car
Awesome video guys!!
wow! I had no idea it took that much work to make wheels!
Great Video... Thanks!
I own a powdercoating business and one day I hope to work at a place like this. My shop specializes in wheels. I would sell everything to work at a place like this...
awesome video... the pride in their work really shows. Maybe I'll get a set for my Porsche someday...
We would love to help you pick out the right model, finish, and sizing for your car.
This is good quality content : )
Amazing company no doubt!
Never would have thought the HRE president would be a downtown hipster. Cool wheels non the less
Seeing the craftsmanship and the process makes the price of these rims well worth it
8:50 That's me pretending to work when my boss is around. 🤭
Very nice !
They look so plain now of days!!
Forgiato are killing them! 😎
Very pro outfit, impressive
Wow, HRE goes above and beyond in making a great wheel.
Very interesting
Good vid and facility tour, hi tech production to deliver a quality product
HRE, one of the bests.
Awesome
Great wheels...
HRE ftw!
It's really cool that these are made in the US. Nothing's made here anymore!
I can't wait to see some on the C8 Corvette. Super car meets Super wheel.
Damn fire rims i need on my next car
Super cool
amAZING video
Cool video!
I'm amazed with your attention to detail and craftsmanship's. I have never bought wheels for my cars but I think I do want to this time for my 20 NSX and 21 992 Turbo S coming this January.
Thank you very much for noticing that. We owned one of the first edition NSX's when the new one released and we enjoyed that car a lot. We have our 992 Turbo Cabriolet shipping to us in the next few weeks so we are excited for that as well. Please give us a call when you are ready - we'd love to work with ya.
Top notch wheels! Say, does anyone out there still publish a custom wheel magazine much like Dub or Rides magazines use to do?
Or, is there an insider dealer magazine that you can purchase that showcases all of the latest new custom wheels? I've always liked
checking out the latest wheels from the many manufacturers.
Really loved this. The precision is amazing! I will get another set one day. Mine were stolen out of my garage 😭.
Donolotti sorry to hear that my man. When the time is right for another set I’ll be here to help.
F
Thank you, guys make some dope wheels. Really helped me out in a college project on performance wheels.
This sounds very interesting. Can you tell us more about this project?
@@WheelsBoutique I'm studying mechanical Engineering. In my Materials class I had to do a final project on material selection process for a part of my choice, I chose performance wheels, monoblocs to be exact. A big part of the project was to explain the manufacturing process, that is were you guys came in clutch. Much appreciated.
@@filatsharapov4841 That is amazing. We're happy to have helped. Thanks for subscribing to the channel!
That’s dope dude arp fasteners. I’d love to work there you can tell they take pride in there products.
DOPE🔥
HEY!? SO!,WHERE ARE ALL THE GREAT PEOPLE! THAT HELPED MADE THIS ALL POSSIBLE FOR YOU!!?
Neat!!
Wow 👏🏎✨✨
Bad ass !!
Good video. Sometimes cast alloy wheels have the marking X-HT and XX engraved on it. What do these refer to? Are these flow formed alloys?
Love this vlog and thanks for sharing this. Now we can really appreciate how high quality wheels are built. Didn’t see you touch upon the Flow Form wheels. Are those built there and how’s the quality and weight on the flowform models.
The FlowForm wheels are not built in house at HRE. They are built in Japan by a manufacturer who HRE vetted carefully to ensure that the quality of the wheels was up to par to their own strict standards. FlowForm wheels are more lightweight than traditional cast construction wheels & factory wheels.
WheelsBoutique Since they have their own machines to build their own wheels wouldn’t it be better to build their own? Which Japan wheel company is building them? Could it be partnering with Work Wheels, Rays etc some of the high quality brands in Japan.
@@lapchoine6600 FlowForm wheels would require a totally different type of setup in regards to machinery & the machinist that operate them. HRE wants to stay focused on doing what they know & what they do best & that's custom forged wheels. Allowing another company that specialized in FlowForm technology made the most sense for them. I don't believe they have ever mentioned who they partnered with - that would be a question for them.
Excellent video!! My next vette will definitely have HRE wheels, since GM decided to put those crappy wheels that bend and crack, on their C7 Vettes! Thanks for the content HRE...
Thank you very much. Much sure to call us when that new 'Vette arrives - 786 249 0127
Great explanation... do you also make motorbike wheels?
And nice logo - do you guys have any relation to Switzerland? 😀
So where do the initial drums (rough wheels) come from at min 2:32. Do you buy them from some allu-foundry , do you forge them from block of allu ? It wasn't explained where these drums come from?
Amazing video I'm looking to get some bespoke rims for my Peugeot 508 SW can you help ?
Of course. Email David@WheelsBoutique.com for assistance.
Got these on my two thousand dollar honda civic! At $1500 per wheel, it was a great investment.
So much for forged wheels, did not show any forging process and did not really show any actual real machining process,
a disappointment I thought.
Yeah, they should give us their trade secrets. Damn them.
Doberman Pinchyou it’s not like the people in the comments can afford that million door machine... jackass
Yup. I just wanted to watch the cnc go. For hours. Mesmerising.
As a engineering it’s always reminds me why I wanted to to what I do when I see videos like HRE taking you through there production process.
HRE and BC Forged my two favourite brands 🥰🥰
For the value you can’t beat BC Forge and their style and quality. Another high quality wheel that won’t break your bank account is Work Wheels. Their quality and top notch. Those are the only 3 wheel company I would buy from.
I designed some wheels of my own. How do I work for them? What degree?
🤤👍👍👍
Your 2 piece isnt available in 19" why would you shoot yourself in the foot like that?
I have your FF01s on my RS6 👍
I am curious as to how much the CAD designers typically make when it comes to wheel design and exporting the Gcode for the mills.
I love mine, beautiful set. Need new ones tho, can you guys hook me up with a free set??lol 🤗
i love HRE, i always put HRE on my cars, resale value also good too in my country. strange how HRE hold their value while similar ADV or Forgiatto lose more.
If hasnt been mentioned before, the correct term for the rotational machining of stock material is not lathing but turning. The lathe is the basic machine tool that is used to complete the turning process. I dont know any fitter turner, toolmaker or other professional machinist who would use "lathing" in their vocabulary. Other than that, top notch facility doin the business.
I could not stop looking at his shirt
With the Swiss flag as the logo, I thought they came from Switzerland. Whats with the Swiss logo then? Glad to see theirs still some cool stuff made in the USA. Thanks.
