An epic orchestral dubstep soundtrack, in D# minor.

I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of this hybrid genre. I had a lot of fun producing this track and I'm actually quite satisfied how it turned out in the end. With this track, I've now probably set myself new standards for composition, mixing and mastering.
Many sleepless nights were spent making this track, but many revelations about composition, sound design, mixing and mastering were also had.
It took about 58 hours to make this track.

They say that the Event Horizon is the "Point of no return" in a black hole, in this case Event Horizon is the Point of no return where i started listening to Xtrullor's music and nothing else :D
This is easily the best song from Xtrullor's old era of music, and easily in my top 3 favorites of his entire amazing catalog, *to this day.* It's funny, because whenever I listened to it, I didn't really pay much mind to it, but after listening to it once more about a month ago, it just clicked with me more than any other one ever has!

in 6th grade, a couple years ago, i was obsessed with gmd and dubstep, especially this song. this song was my life for two months, becuz i thought it was perfect. then nearing the end of 6th grade, i started getting interested in nirvana. then pixies and then sonic youth, so all kinds of rock and roll. i'm in 8th grade now and i primarily listen to rock, but i have recently come back to the songs i loved then (good times) and holy fucking shit this song is the most fucking perfect thing i've heard in years. i love it so much, thank you so much for making my 6th grade amazing xtrullor.

Edit: Yea this is definitely 7/4 it's just bizarre cuz I expected it to sound Ego Death-esque but instead it's just like super unique. My only criticism is the piano in the middle calm part is a bit too loud and surprising. Idk if that's bad or not it just felt a little bit out of place in the track.

Honestly, I have always preferred 7/4 (7/8) music, and honestly I don't know why, but I find it easier to compose in 7/4 than in 4/4.

I have used EWQL Hollywood Orchestra series for most of my tracks so far. Nowadays I use Metropolis Ark 1 as my main orchestra library, you get pretty much all the essentials from it, including phonetic choirs.

That's a sub bass where the sound is a sine wave with lots of FX. Also, it has a high frequency filter. That's why it sounds as if the volume was decreasing.

Hey man, first off I'd like to say that this track is just godlike, along with a very strong majority of your other songs. You are by far my favorite artist. A couple days ago I was thinking why more people haven't given you the attention you deserved (in a perfect world this music would be mainstream, I LOVE it). The conclusion that I came up with is that some of the tracks can be a little hard to listen to (which is to be expected, people like their niche genres). In addition, I gave some thought into why tracks like Supernova and Ichor are all "diamonds in the rough" in terms of their popularity. One of the reasons is, of course, their fame through Geometry Dash. But another reason I thought of is that the drop of Supernova (usually the most memorable part in any dubstep song) lies on a set theme, being the power chords on the piano. Ichor has the same deal, with the tinkling music box melody that makes the song hard to forget. On the other hand, tracks like Earthsplitter (my personal favorite) have the drop as just an amalgam of noises. Personally, I find that captivating about your music. Most others, however, do not. If I were to give you one tip to improve in your music making, it would be to pick a theme first for your songs, then layer all the wubs and whatnot on top of it. I can tell you are starting to incorporate some of that into Event Horizon. But I can almost guarantee that if you continue strengthening on that aspect, giving each song a melodic theme and building off of it; then more and more people will begin to appreciate the musical phenom that your are.I understand that a lot of people make different styles of music, and this might not suit you perfectly, but it's just a subtle thing that I've noticed that could make your songs true masterpieces of dubstep. Sorry if this got a little ramble-y, but I just had a lot to say. Anyways, keep up the fantastic work my friend. :)
Thanks for the feedback man! I'll take this into account as I keep producing more music over time. Orchestras just keep demanding me to get more melodic and coherent with my electronic music, so I guess it's inevitable haha

Also... I met dubstep in Geometry Dash and now I think I'm ready to see if I can do my own music. Since I know FL costs, is it possible to create anything proper in the demo version?
The demo is essentially the full FL Studio without the ability to save your projects. I did quite a few tracks like that until I demanded the saving feature.

You can create stuff in the demo version, but with out the full version, you cant open it again after you have closed it. I would highly recommend getting the full version, and watching MDK's production school tutorials. they are a great place to start
