  • Join The Mate Night Podcast on their journey to rank every film ever made. This week, episode 7, explores "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes," considered a modern revival in the iconic sci-fi series.
In this video FRED tells us a bit about the storied life of Pierre Boulle, author of 'La Planète des Singes' (Planet of the Apes).
In the remainder of the episode, it is their job to rate this film in 9 different categories:
    How much Fred enjoyed it
    How much Jambo enjoyed it
    Plot
    Character
    Dialogue
    Performance
    Visuals
    Sound, and
    Genre realization.
They will take the average across the 9 areas to finish with a perfectly accurate score representing how enjoyable, and how good, "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" really is. This score is held up against other sci-fi classics already in the cinefiles, including "The Godfather," Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey," and "Apocalypse Now" amongst many others. Aside from the rankings of this film, the question which guides this whole segment is: "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes," should you watch it?
In addition to this, 4 special segments have been included in this episode, titled:
What if Caesar kept the Medicine?
    Jambo's review
    Common questions
Neither of the hosts have any idea what they are talking about and so if you are a beginner, an everyman, someone who doesn't know films, then this will be digestible for you. If you are a film expert, this may be a bit more like watching your 8-year-old kid playing football: great to watch but you could absolutely mince them on the field.

I had no idea about the depth of these stories, great history video. If you’re interested in other book stories, look into Kurt Vonnegut and Slaughterhouse Five. That’s a really interesting story in itself.
