A few things you might've missed in chat.
It's Agumon, Greymon, MetalGreymon then WarGreymon. Rest in peace to the 2 who originally voiced Greymon and MetalGreymon.
I mentioned how a lot of the voice cast on Digimon, most of them were shared between it and Power Rangers.
Mythicals technically have a few differences.
Most have a total of 600 base stats, generally they can't be found in-game without an external method and most Mythicals as a fun fact, they actually keep their translated Japanese name when adapting it into the English format, Pecharunt the most recent 1 is the only 1 that doesn't. Shaymin can be argued that it doesn't either but that 1 is still pretty close.
The Wizards sequel seems like an interesting concept but it seems strange to me that Justin would retire as Headmaster and give up his powers when he was very happy with Juliet. I can see Selena coming back as Alex, I just hope she keeps her rebellious side since that's part of her charm.

Ah, got it. The Pokémon differences make a lot of sense. Thanks for the clarification on that!

@@HopefullyAwesome Yup no doubt and you are welcome, I bet you are curious exactly how many in English actually keep their translated Japanese names, there's actually a bunch of them.

    • @HopefullyAwesome
      @HopefullyAwesome  Před měsícem

I actually really am interested to know that. I always find it interesting which things get translated from Japanese to English and which don’t when it comes to nerd stuff. I used to change my Smash Bros region just to hear their original names haha

      @@HopefullyAwesome Sure thing.
Here's the ones that keep their Japanese names.
I'll do the Pokémon by Generation so of course we first start with Gen 1
      Caterpie, Butterfree
      Arbok
      Pikachu, Raichu
      All Nidoran members including evolutions
      Zubat, Golbat
      Paras and Parasect
      Dugtrio
      Persian
      Golduck
      Mankey
      Ponyta
      Dodrio
      Shellder
Gengar is pretty close, the spelling is just different since the Japanese name I guess has more of an emphasis on the gangar part of the name sounding like it's pronounced as in doppelgänger, still sounds close enough to me though.
      Kingler
      Seadra
      Starmie
      Gyarados
      Eevee
      Porygon
      Kabuto, Kabutops.
      Mewtwo
      Mew
      Gen 2
      Chikorita, Bayleef, Meganium
      Ariados
      Crobat
      Lanturn
      Pichu
      Togepi
      Mareep
Yanma is pretty close, the Japanese name is Yanyanma so they just shorten it here.
      Unown, different spelling, same name.
      Gligar.
Granbull, not quite the same but still pretty close.
      Heracross
      Delibird
Mantine, can't say for sure since there it's Mantain which they could pronounce similarly so I'll do my best to investigate on the questionable ones.
      Kingdra
      Donphan
      Porygon2
      Elekid
      Miltank
      Raikou
      Entei
      Suicune
      Lugia
Ho-oh, different spelling but same name.
      Celebi
      Gen 3
      Poochyena, I'd say close enough
      Pelipper
      Ralts, Kirlia
      Nosepass
      Plusle
      Minun
      Volbeat
      Illumise
      Roselia
      Vibrava, Flygon
      Zangoose
      Lunatone
      Solrock
      Armaldo
      Tropius
      Absol
      Huntail
Metang, Metagross. Funnily enough here their pre-evolution is Beldum but in Japanese, it is Dumbel.
      Regirock
      Regice
      Registeel
      Latias
      Latios
      Kyogre
      Groudon
      Rayquaza
      Jirachi
      Deoxys
      Gen 4
      Luxio
      Roserade
      Pachirisu
      Cherrim
      Skuntank
      Gabite
      Riolu, Lucario
      Hippopotas
      Drapion
      Togekiss
Yanmega is pretty close, mostly just abbreviated and switched since in Japanese, it is actually Megayanma.
Porygon-Z, same name, different spelling since in Japanese, it's all a singular name.
      Dialga
      Palkia
Heatran was pretty close, there it's Headran.
      Regigigas
      Giratina
I think Cresselia is close enough.
      Phione and Manaphy
      Darkrai
Shaymin, very close, there just isn't a n in their name.
      Arceus
      Gen 5
The only region that doesn't keep the Japanese name.
      Victini
      Emboar
Munna, different spelling but same name. Musharna for its evolved form.
      Archen
Zorua, Zoroark, close enough, I'd say same names, different spelling ways.
Swanna, different spelling but same name.
Terrakion and Virizion, Cobalion was very close but there's sadly no i in the Japanese name.
      Reshiram
      Zekrom
      Kyurem
      Keldeo
      Meloetta
      Genesect
      Gen 6
      Vivillon
Flabebe, Floette, Florges, all same but Flabebe uses Flabébé as the English spelling.
      Gogoat
      Dedenne
      Xerneas
      Yveltal
      Zygarde
      Diancie
      Hoopa
      Volcanion
      Gen 7
      Yungoos
      Type: Null
      Togedemaru
      Mimikyu
      Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala.
Guzzlord has a decently adapted name. Japanese name is Akujiking, akujiki basically means bad eating and then there's kingu which is obviously king.
      Necrozma.
      Magearna.
      Marshadow
      Zeraora
      Meltan, Melmetal.
      Gen 8
      Inteleon
Wooloo, I'd say same name but different spelling.
      Morpeko
      Duraludon
      Zacian and Zamazenta
      Zarude
      Regieleki
      Regidrago
      Gen 9
      Scovillain
      Koraidon
      Miraidon
      Terapagos
There's also instances where they don't keep the Japanese names but aren't bad with adapting or localizing the meaning.
Audino is a good example of this since its Japanese name is Tabunne, the tabun ne part could come from the same word which means maybe and Audino kinda is adapted to this meaning since they went with our saying of "I dunno."
