How can anyone not love Jim Henson and his puppet creations? One of my favorite Christmas movies is Emmett Otter's Jug Band Christmas.
RhettyforFun found one she’s afraid of them also she sucks
A man after my own heart
Such a classic!
@@PuppetNerd Yes it was
It's a charming film
Jim Henson was a genius - gone too soon.
Jim Henson was definitely a genius, his Muppets were loved by both Kids and adults which is something you don't see too much of anymore, but I find it 😥 that the Muppets aren't the way they used to be because a black and tan rat took a dump on them 😥😪.
Manebull Disney ain’t treating the muppets well
@@spongeycraftstudios4371 I know right, I remember watching some of the newer Muppet movies and it wasn't the Muppets. there was this feeling of Garvin, sadness, and depression that the Muppets gave out. it's. like they were trying to fix the Muppets, but the Muppets were never broken to begin with, in other words if it's not broken don't fix it. they should have retired the Muppets after Jim Henson passing.
@@manebull6291 I was more upset that their Planed revival show on Disney + was cancelled before it was even out or made that would of redeemed their short-live ABC show and flop from most wanted
@@WhiteDarkness3113 like I said before the Muppets should have been retired after Jim Henson, also lips is my favorite Muppet by the way .
NO FREAKING WAY. They have the Mystery Science Theater bots!! I might go there just to see them.
I love MST3K! One of my favorite shows!
While I'm an animator, I have mad respect towards puppeteers and stop-motion animators! Physical medium is far more challenging than digital medium, so I have a degree of imposter syndrome as I fiddle with my digital puppets.
After watching The Dark Crystal, you'll have to catch the new Netflix continuation of "The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance". His team and children knocked it out of the park and Jim Henson would be proud.
If you do watch Age of Resistance definitely check out the making-of doc that goes with it! SO much hard work and love went into every scene of the show and it really makes you appreciate it more. Best show of 2019 imo.

Yes!! CarpetBagger, JOIN USSSSSSSS!!! WE ARE THE ASCENDENC- oops. I mean... WE ARE THE RESISTANCE!!!!
I think Brad was Bert nephew
Larissa Barber You are correct.
Bert also had a brother called Bart that featured in Sesame Street
One of my favorite moments was when Bert was going to give Brad a bath and Ernie goes into the bathroom and calls Bert crazy because Brad doesn’t have any toys in the tub. Sesame Street still cracks me up, even as an adult!
I remember Manna Manna! He was in a bit with two pink aliens who sang, "Do doo do-do-do...", and he'd cut in with "Muhnuh muhnuh!" 😀
Hope Mr Rogers puppets are there along with Jim hensen, keeping fingers crossed as I watch your video
Mr. Rogers' puppets are in Pittsburgh
My local Cinerama did a 70mm film festival a couple years back and they showed “The Dark Crystal” and the print looked absolutely gorgeous
Omg I love the dark crystal
Saw it when it came out in theaters
An 80's classic.
This was a great tour!
I suffer from disabilities one being depression and another that often keeps me awake. Your video's are therapy. Thank you!
I would’ve cried if I saw Big Bird. What a special place, I would love to go there one day, I have such an appreciation for puppetry and animatronics.
Love Jim Henson’s work!
Jim was a huge part of my life .. thank you so much for doing this !!! Happy and safe travels my friend
I used to have some neighbors that I called The Doozers. They were always out in their driveway pounding on things.
Every time I drive through Atlanta and see the sign for this place I tell myself that I really need to go here sometime. Now I really need to stop and check it out. Looks so cool!
Puppets can be so interesting with their looks and how some can be more than they look.
Seeing victor and Emily (corpse bride) made me happy
Wow they had Jen on display but no Kira?
I absolutely loved the nightmare before Christmas and Corpse bride
Fraggle Rock. was one of my favorites when I was a kid.
Mine too
Since I was very young have been fasinated by puppets. A small shop near where I grew up had string puppets in there window. Could stand for ages looking at them. Loved Jim Henson creations. Watched Fraggle Rock with my daughter and really liked the Muppet Show. Now my granddaughter is all over Sesame St. Thanks for the tour. Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤
This place is just incredible. I’d love to visit. I’d probably cry if I saw those Corpse Bride pieces in person. And all the Jim Henson pieces...just amazing.
It's actually, the Center for Puppetry Arts. Glad you could visit Atlanta again! :-)
I got to see a Henson exhibit a while back and was blown away! So cool to see some of this stuff up close like this.
Brad was Bert's nephew
You're rights. I thought Brad was the brother
I would love to go to that museum!
You watch Defunctland?! I love you even more.
Crow and Tom Servo...Riffing B-movies since the 90s. Love all of Jim Henson’s creations as well
@10:23 the Wilkins coffee can is very significant. Jim Henson created a very successful ad campaign for that product using puppets named Wilkins and Won'tkins.
Mr. Rogers puppets are on display in Pittsburgh where they are cherished and loved.
4:30 , that doesn't look like a leisure suit -- more like a zoot suit
Even though I'm a Mr. Rogers guy when I was growing up, I still like Sesame Street and The Muppet Show! I think the JIm Henson Experience should do a feature on his work with the early 90s Ninja Turtles live action films and the Muppet Christmas Carol, my favorite Muppet movie!
Actually you bring up a good point! I'm shocked there aren't any Mr. Rogers puppets on display here!
Good one Jacob 😎👍🏻
Thank you for the explore today. It was interesting and fun!

I absolutely adore The Storyteller. I have an original storyboard and script, and a prop which is a fiberglass leg bone used on screen as a skittle pin. My son's middle name comes from one of my favourite characters.
Huh, I've always thought Brad's name was "Bort" for years!
Whether these Muppets were restored or have been stored away very well for so many years, it's so good to see none of them are rotting or icky. MoPop could learn a thing or two from the Center of Puppetry.
Great video! I went there many years ago with my students. They have really expanded the museum so much! The shows they do are great as well!👍🤗
I loved this museum! I grew up watching Seasme Street, The Muppet Shop & I remember when the first muppet movie came out, The Muppets take Mannhanit, if I remember correctly my mom took me to see it. Then when the Great Muppet Cappier came out my sister took me to that one. Such good memories...🙂🙂👍🧚🏼♀️
You find the coolest 😎 places
I used to work there. Was fortunate enough to to do an internship there as well, so I was able to be hands-on with some of these muppets. That Big Bird display case was a fun time to move. Haha.
I'm going to see MST3K live and I'm SO excited to see Crow and Tom Servo irl. I think I might just cry lol.
Also you definitely have to check out The Dark Crystal!! One of my favorite movies from childhood that also scared the bejeezus out of me. The Netflix series is one of the best shows I've watched in a long time.
Yay! I’ve always wanted to go here! Thank you for sharing!
This is one of my dream spots to go! LOVED this, thank you so much Jacob!
We had a Gumby toy we could bend into different shapes. Thanks for sharing!
We visited for my birthday last year, specifically to see Ma and Emmet Otter. It’s my absolute favorite, but they were off display. Still excited to see Harrison and Gretchen Fox. It was super emotional to see all of these characters that played a huge part of my childhood. Sprocket, the Fraggles, Bert and Ernie, Kermit and Miss Piggy. Magical, thank you Mr. Henson for bringing these delightful creatures to life. You are missed!!!

Brad is Bert's nephew, he would appear occasionally on the show from Season 9 to Season 10 but still makes casual appearances every oce in a while.
I love it! Thank you jake!!!!
Gonzo is my favorite. And my wife was always scared of Beaker.
Jim autographed my book at the grand opening back in the 80s and I got to talk to Kermit in his own voice much to everyone’s surprise!! It was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I still remember.
Jim died young but he changed child education on Sesame Street.
Tanks for the memory’s!!
Thanks for going-I wondered if it was still open!!
I was there a couple of years ago. My cousin, who lives in Atlanta, took me. The museum is absolutely amazing. Also, the tiny door outside the museum, there are several you can find around the city, you just have to keep your eyes open and look down. LOL.
Aside from this is my favorite and the best of all time I have no words to express the thank you for showing me this!
The Dark Crystal is so good. It’s beautiful to look at and just wonderfully weird and different. If you like the movie, then be sure to check out the Netflix series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. It’s a prequel to he events of the movie. Again, visually stunning and they used actual puppets instead of going the CGI route.
Croooooow! It's always been my dream to visit this museum!
"That's one 'O'!"
They have the full movie The Dark Crystal on Netflix. The series The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance is also on Netflix. They did true justice with this series. Jim would have been very proud. Please check it out! So far this is my favorite video from The Carpetbagger 😍.
I love Dark Crystal!
The Dark Crystal is amazing! Showing how he wanted to do more for an adult audience.
Awesome video ! I was born in the 70s an I remember watching sesame street in the morning time an eating my rice krispies cereal with sugar sprinkled on it. This was before I even started school ! Good times😉 keep up the great work enjoy your channel. Have a nice weekend.
Grover- ‘Near, far…you get it now right…RIGHT?…no?…ARRRGGHH!!’ LOL 😂 OH MEMORIES.
Ah a lovely video from carpetbagger for my birthday what a great day
This must be the creepiest place to be alone at night at
I always loved Bert and Earnie!
The Center for Puppetry arts is my favorite place in the entire world. I'm so glad that it is getting the love it deserves from so many! I wish you could have filmed in the old museum though when they still had some very strange pieces and walk throughs.
Awesome! Thanks so much for sharing!
Looks amazing x
Only been once but wanting to go back soon - felt like a child again walking in a wonderland - love Jim and Muppets and was a puppeteer for several years - thanks for sharing
Atlanta is a wonderful city!
I never knew this existed! I love puppetry, and I definitely want to come here on my next trip to Atlanta
Excellent job!! Thank you!
One of my favorites is Lefty the Salesman
Thank you for showing us this.
Saw the first vlog as well, both very interesting.
I think if Jim was still alive he would of approved of the film "The Happytime Murders"; adult movie like he wanted to do featuring his own puppets :)
Knowing Jim, he'd add more madness to the film.
This video make me so happy . It is a place I am going to try to go someday.
Excellent video!
Puppets favourite childhood toys!!! Great video!!!
Grover is my favorite too! Just love his innocence, positive attitude and humor. This video is so fascinating from beginning to end. THANK YOU!!!!
I love Grover to. Especially when he was with MR. Johnson . He always drove mr. Johnson crazy at Charlie’s restaraunt , or a sales person. So funny.
I was born in 1975 & I remember Madame puppet I loved her :-) I also loved the Muppets: pigs in space, the chef,& of course the 2 elderly men in the balcony
You are a very kind and calm man.
This is pure nostalgiea!!
This place is amazing. I really love puppetry. It inspired what I' ve done with my life.
Hands down my favorite museum in the entire state
This was fascinating 👏 🤔 👌 thankyou wonderful tour.
One of my favourite Christmas movies is "The Muppets Christmas Carol!!! It is awesome. There is so much going on in each scene you can watch it a million times n see something new n cool every time. Michael Caine is awesome as Scrooge, n Kermit is a great Bob Cratchit as is Miss Piggy as Mrs. Cratchit n the tiny Tim muppets is too cute for words!!!!!!! I am 64 yrs old and can't get enough of it!!!!
3:19 noo freaking way
Remember dark crystal when I was a child very dark scary movie . Bought the dvd & in my 50s amazing film 🇬🇧👍
Now they have Dark Crystal Age Of Rebellion on net flix. I don't have net flix so I didn't see it, bt people who havesay it is really good.
Hi fish&garden thanks for that will definitely watch that on Netflix 🇬🇧👍
This would be an awesome museum to visit. I saw a temporary Jim Henson exhibit locally a few months ago and it was amazing, this however looks so much more extensive. It's awesome to see these characters in person you've seen dozens of times on TV or in the movies.
What a great place to visit, so cool.
I love all the Muppet stuff!!!
This is my jam. THIS IS MY JAM!
When I was visiting Atlanta last year I stopped by this place. It was an amazing place. Growing up with Jim Henson’s muppets and Sesame Street and to be able to see all those characters I grew up with in person was a thrilling experience for me.
Man, what a great video. I'd be all over that puppet museum.
You absolutely **have** to see 'The Dark Crystal.' It's beautiful, profound, allegorical, political and philosophical all at the same time, and unlike Labyrinth there are no humans in The Dark Crystal. You'll absolutely love it!
I’d love to go there, I am a HUGE muppet fan. It looks totally worth it!
Lmfao, why did you call Elmo infamous?
Clawster there is some rumor and infamy regarding impropriety about his operator.
my mouth was open the whole time i watched this because i was questioning how i got here (it was actually on my recommended)
Of course jim henson pretty much owns this place
I'm amazed and pleased that this museum exists even though I know I'll never be able to visit it.
me and my grown up son went there last year we both loved it and plan on going again,,
Very cool museum. I do remember several of those puppets, including Madam. Didn't see Snufalupagus by Jim Henson.
I truly enjoyed the near and far sketch 😊
I love this place, went here in real life, absolutely loved it
Bradwas Bert's nephew. Check out when Ernie tries to give Brad a bath. I loved Jim Henson's storyteller. The Dark Crystal is my all time favorite Henson movie and the prequel on Netflix is a Wonderful series. Now I want to visit this museum. Thanks for sharing
