Also to add on to the conversation of brands running their course, you have to also think that Maybelline started their company in 1915 and are still popping in 2023. I think how they survived for literally over a century is because they kept up with the times.

Does anyone remember how relevant and popular Gerard Cosmetics was? I’m surprised they didn’t bring them up! Their lipglosses with mirrors and lights were always talked about.

I feel like urban decay has kinda fallen off, I use to love everything they launched. I think trends have changed so the popular brand is going to change. Everyone is obsessed with clean beauty so those brands are having their moment.

Two influencer brands that i never heard why they ended are: Nicole Guerrieros ‘Best Damn Beauty’ and Crisspys lash brand. Both were only out for a bit and they never said anything about them.

Having flown to china and back several times, the jet lag is intenssssse. On the way there I am doing math to time my naps to adjust quickly but when I leave back home I do not care at all and it will take me 2+ weeks for not just my brain but my body to fully settle back. The first night I was back home, I slept for 27 STRAIGHT HOURS.
Don’t feel bad Laura! When I was 2 weeks postpartum I woke up in a gallon of sweat, didn’t make it out of bed in time to go pee so I leaked everywhere AND my newborn peed through his diaper right next to me too. So I threw down a few towels and decided not to lose an extra 40 minutes of precious sleep 😂
I'm due in about a month and this story got me a lil nervous not gonna lie😅
Omggggg i also had night sweats 😮

worked for a skincare brand that had a couple viral products years ago. It’s so crazy to be on the side of things where everything is going down hill, from the secretive lay offs, the budget cutting which would include not providing coffee to employees, to now downsizing to a we work space. It’s noT fun but I’m so glad I’m out and working for a cosmetics brand that’s reputable and doing so well.
Coming from two brand owners, I can’t wait to hear their thoughts on this ❤❤❤

I really really really liked this episode! I tuned into the whole thing I loved listening to manny so intently he was so informative and educated in these brands. He has so much experience and I loved it all. It was so eye opening and interesting but I loved how alive manny was on every single brand they spoke about. He knows his shit 💯

Hi Laura. Just some suggestions on the body line. I got the body oil and love the product itself, but DO NOT LIKE the smell, at all. Is the most synthetic headache Inducing smell of vanilla to the point where I can’t use it. I hope you make one of the future thats unscented. Or change the scent.

@@_paolacx_3412 Yeah, they haven’t been on anyone’s radar for a long while. But maybe if the new foundation does well enough Ulta will keep them. They’re also in a few of the main department stores like Nordstrom and Macys.

Laura you should totally do a revamped Cat’s Pajamas collection with an expanded palette and some other products, totally redesigned to go with your brand’s newer aesthetic. It would be such a cool way to honor the brand and how far it’s come (and clap back at the haters who flipped the f*ck out over the design of that palette 😅). Kind of like what Manny did with Life’s A Drag: Facelift!
Gerard Cosmetics…. There liquid lipsticks with the built-in light in the lid of the lipsticks and there gold bullet lipsticks and highlights were all the rave back then… Love you guys and love the podcast!
