Just got back from Top Gun 2. While the orchestral rearrangement gives an epic vibe, hearing this original theme in theaters was a dream come true. I'm glad they kept it, and Danger Zone of course.
My dad was a Naval Airman around the time Top Gun released. He loved when girls would ask him what he does and he would say "Well... did ya see Top Gun? Yeah? Well, I don't do any of that shit."
I don't know which is better: the 80's original with the guitar riffs, or the new trailer's Hans Zimmer downtempo synth version with so much orchestral undertones you feel like you've walked into the halls of Valhalla with thousands of warriors saluting your entrance. BOTH! Both are great, but different.

So many of the old classics have been remixed and released again in the last few years but thank god nobody can touch this masterpiece impossible to improve perfection
I remember the first and only time I saw an F-14.... I was an Aircraft Structural Maintenance mechanic in the Air Force, and one had stopped over at the base I was posted at.... I couldn't believe how big it was..... I worked on A-10's and C-130's at the time.... but the F-14 absolutely dwarfed both the A-10 and the F-16, both being aircraft that I was very familiar at the time. That being said, I do think it's one of the most elegant and beautiful fighter jets ever made. I'm sorry it's been retired. R.I.P., Tomcat.
So true. My only problem with the F-14 is the fact that it was the F-4 Phantom's replacement. But at the same time, it's frustrating that the F-4 outlived the Tomcat
Being from the UK, I never saw one "in person" so to speak, but I have to agree it is probably the best looking multi role combat aircraft ever designed by far!!!

Fun fact: The number of new naval academy and Naval ROTC recruits that wanted to become fighter pilots skyrocketed by a huge amount after this movie came out. Look it up.
I wanted to be one before watching the film!
Hell yeah!
I just saw Top Gun Maverick last night. So glad they brought this theme back.
It's just not Top Gun without this theme
Why isn't this our national anthem?
I feel the same this should be my countries anthem !
Forreal man....if this was our anthem imagine the olympics! Terrorist wouldn't even think about fucking with the US
I know its wierd but i think it should be the british national anthem for some reason.
How about this being the US Navy's Anthem?
Best comment ever!!!!
Before this I wanted to be a pilot... now I want to be a hair stylist .
Daniel Martinez: 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂Capt su idea.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😁🤣🤣🤣
Do they have a "TOP GUN" school for hair stylis
Zohan?!? Is that you? Make me silky smooth.
😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Every time we went on vacation, you would lower the windows and blast this when we reached the highway. I miss you so much, Dad. I miss your stories of serving at Top Gun in Miramar. You were so proud of your time there. It’s so unfair COVID took you from us. I listen to this religiously and it brings me closer to you. Rest Sailor, Rest. We have the watch…
I watched it just earlier today. It was absolutely amazing. One of my favorite movies hands down. I'm not the person that's tears up when emotional, but I get the craziest goosebumps. And that happened so many times during the movie.
I kinda just want to play this soundtrack on repeat and cur to it for hours. I'm so touched about this movie.
This is so 80's and I LOVE IT!
Bet these movie theaters are gonna be packed with pilots.
@Pyramid Head i don't know guys
Count me in! SEMPER FIDELIS! Hoorah! 😎👍🏼🇺🇸
@@devintariel3769 ffs Covid could have held off till next year so I could go see TGM.. :(
And how many of them do you want to bet, signed up to the air force or navy back in the 80's after watching the original Top Gun?
Your premonition will surely be correct
Today I saw the Maverick, they also used this marvelous title score, I realized that it's the soul of the whole film ❤️👌
マーヴェリックで色んなバージョンのAnthem流れたけど、このバージョンが1番好き

We walked to the reception to this song at graduation today. It was awesome!
Came here after watching Top Gun Maverick (2022). A perfect sequel to everyone's favourite Top Gun (1986)
I can't believe this CZcams video was uploaded in 2006! It's 2023 now.
The older I get, the more I miss the 80s....
+Infinty “Infinitygames” Games That hair though.. What was the inspiration for that?
+razorbackblood06 That hair is so original my friend. Jeff Lynne used to have great hair also.
+Infinty “Infinitygames” Games don't worry - virtual reality escapism is coming - we can all relive the 80s and never worry about real life again soon

+Diomedes01 great movies and cartoons, this latest generation is missing out big time
Steve Stevens
Grammy award winning guitarist, songwriter & composer!
Top gun maverick was awesome! So nice to hear this again in a movie after all these years!
I keep always coming back to this song over and over again, this song is a masterpiece
Just playing this in the background doing anything, even brushing your teeth, makes you feel heroic. And makes everything move in slow motion.
"Top Gun 2", or Top Gun: Maverick is tentatively scheduled to be released on June 26, 2020. Good to see that Val Kilmer won his battle against throat cancer and is part of the sequel's cast. The Iceman cometh!
Wait you legit i thought that they stopped the idea from happeninh
Ohhhh!!! Really?
The movie is set for release June 26, 2020!
I can't wait for it to come out gonna be lit
Is the Jet, right? Chicks love the Jet!
When I heard that first gong in the cinema watching the remake movie, I must have had goosebumps all over my body. Such an intensively happy moment.
Well now we can say both RIP f14 and RIP a10
@@hunterprokurat9909 The A-10 isn't dead yet.
Being from the UK, I never saw one "in person" so to speak, but I have to agree it is probably the best looking multi role combat aircraft ever designed by far!!!
Well, it was my favourite aircraft and still is. It was used as a base for the Valkyrie in the Japanese anime Macross.
The sound of this guitar chills my soul.
Steve & Harold at their finest an 80s landmark classic
Wow!! What a phenomenal movie “Top Gun: Maverick” is!! Tom Cruise, you are definitely on top of your game. I can’t wait for Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning!!
A Grammy... Not bad for a two hour guitar session thrown in while making a Billy Idol album... nice work as always Steve.
Steve Stevens has always been such an underrated guitarist. His playing is brilliant.
@Pollywog 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
When I heard this song, I felt the 80s nostalgia even though I am not even born then
Me too. But my parents grew up then so I’ve always been fan of 80s music cause of them but I only just recently watched the original and the sequel. Masterpiece. And Tom cruise young fire. Holy shot
Huge fan of 80s music it gives me nostalgia too.
And here we are 47 years later enjoying this incredible song.
You're 10 years ahead
This solo still makes you feel it. A masterpiece.
The lyrics really speak to me.
What lyrics? lol
lmfao
I think the first guitar riff is saying: "The United States of America".
YES :D
+Rukhage I think they all say that..
OMG! The guitarist is so '80s! His hair, high heels, and attire are amazing!
Lmao everyone is here after watching the new trailer... Gonna be awesome to watch maverick with my kids after I watched top gun with my dad!!!! Think about it guys, nostalgic af 💪
That’s what father-son traditions ought to be; passed through the generations.
