- A driver in New Jersey won't permit anyone to pass him. Swerving from one lane to the other (without signaling) the only thing on his mind is being inconsiderate and creating a dangerous situation for himself and others..

I had this happen to me yesterday. I faked going left and quickly went to his right (he was in the middle of both lanes)

I grew up in Florida and I saw this happen all the time. People would almost wreck, swerving to keep others from passing them. I never understood that.

@@captrodgers4273 Their not though. They are the ones who end up causing accidents. Rule 1 in defensive driving school, never attempt to control the speed of another vehicle. If someone is driving unsafe you are welcome to call the police or a local hotline to report them. That's why we have license plates. You also have no clue what the speed limit is here or how fast either vehicle is going.
Best way I find of overcoming the frustration in situations like this is to tell myself he's better off where he is. Let's face it, do you want a complete berk watching _your_ back?

I think everyone should get this straight, you are always behind someone on the road get over it, you are baby for thinking I have to be in front and not allow anyone to pass. Seeing Jersey plates, well expected dumbness but it's true. Haven't met and non-pretentious one, not saying there isn't just haven't met one yet.

Wait it looked like at the last second of the video the explorer was pulling off the side of the road. It might have broken down earlier than I predicted. Everybody knows a Honda will outlast that explorer 4x longer.

Had this happen to me the other day, but crazier. A guy in a GMC Savanna was blocking both lanes. When I'd try to go around him, he'd block me. I wasn't tailgating beforehand or doing anything to provoke. When he went back to the middle of both lanes, I faked going to his left and quickly went to his right. He tried cutting to the right, but I had pretty much passed him

That's simply crazy. Best thing is to pull off at the next turn, report him to the police including video evidence - chill, have a coffee and donut then get back on the road. More that a few minutes on the road with these imbeciles will infect you with rage.

Normally I wouldn't call the cops on somebody that's pissing me off but somebody that's being this deliberate, I don't think I would hesitate. You got a dashcam to show that you're not driving dangerously and he is I would take them off the road

In both of these instances that you called "ramming or tailgating" are just where the camera was zoomed his camera in to see the guys tag.
Traffic here is going about 45 miles an hour and at no point are they within 5 car lengths of each other.

This is why everybody should be mandated to have to pass classes to get their license to find out that although speeding is dangerous is not nearly as dangerous as these conscious maneuvers people move to try to prevent other drivers actions and if they knew how much stiffer the fines were for what they're doing.
ablut 20 years ago I had a guy tailgating me in the right lane and I squirted him with my windshield washers and he passed me.
He got ahead of me and slow down no hard braking just slowing down and I called the police and they sent three cars that chased him as if he had stolen the king's dog. They pushed him off the road and all I saw was blue lights.
I called the police back and told him that I had dash cam footage and they said they didn't need it they had him on the traffic cams.

This guy in the Ford truck that is aggressively driving in a manner as to try to prevent the camera car from passing feels as if he is making safe however he is a dangerous road rager.

I really hate people like these. So many I come across on a daily, and when you do pass em, you will see them hot on your tail fuming that you got past their fragile defenses.

It sucks following someone who drives that way. However, looking briefly at the responses to this video reveals that over 70% of those replying can't get it right either. They seem to want to up the ante by playing more games, or doing something illegal, which leads to escalation and the worst types of outcomes.
I live in Germany and the first thing i would do is, remember his licence plate and type and
colour of the car, pull safely over to the right and stop, while watching my rear for traffic, and then immediately call 110. I have no intention to get involved with potential maniacs.

Someone did this to me a couple years back, I used to have really bad anger issues and my girl was in the car with me so that inflamed my ego, so i shot at his tires, luckly after the first couple misses he kindly decided to stick with one lane for some odd reason, after I drove passed doing the wave with one arm out the window to assert my dominance

New Jersey tag; you gotta believe he's got brain damage from breathing the polluted air there all of his life. Just don't pass him in the oncoming traffic lane and then knock his truck into the right lane or completely off the road or you will have to tell the Police that you were passing him in the left lane and he was swerving all over both lanes and HE struck YOU, forcing you into the on-coming traffic lane, so you instinctively reacted by jerking back into the fast lane, hitting him for the first time and ACCIDENTALLY shoved him off the road entirely. AND tell the Police that you called them immediately and that you have called your attorney and are going to Press Assault Charges against him through your lawyer (Do Not Say This -because they will NOT do anything to him if you don't. I was the witness at a accident she was responsible for, I have seen them let a Illegal Mex woman drive away with kids in car, NO Driver's License, NO ID, NO auto insurance and admitted that she can't read English.). Also be the first to say, "I will take a Lie Detector Test to prove what I say". Cops know that the guilty Never say that.

Let alone all the wasted time afterward to get your car fixed....just to try to shorten your trip a few minutes by passing him.

Had someone do this. I was just a block from the store I was going to so I just stayed behind him then turned off. Wish I had got the plates in case I see him again then I can surprise him. I don't like to confront hostile people when they have the drop on me. They might be driving like this to look for a reason to shoot someone.

Ugh! Same crap happened to me today, but I was already in the left lane when he suddenly jumped in front of me and then slowed down back to the speed he was driving previously. I moved over to the middle lane to get away from him, and what does he do? He moves back over in front of me. Jerk kept this up no matter how slow or fast I went until finally I pulled out my phone and showed it as I was behind him to say, I am photographing you - dude moved over and I never saw him again. I guess he didnt like the idea of me reporting him.

There is no "rest of the video." The guy started driving crazy when I tried to pass him, so I got my camera and started to record him until he turned off the highway.
I'll bet they are a transplant from Miami. Another way to tell is if they are behind you in the adjacent lane, signal like you are going to change lanes in front them and see how fast they accelerate next to you.

This behavior is an everyday occurrence on every freeway in Houston Texas as you near an enter change people beside and in front of you must do all they can to make sure they are first though the tangle of lane changes....I have seen wrecks due to this obsession

The driver could see, and you couldn't, that the left lane was ending up ahead. Maybe there was enough lane left to pass, and maybe there wasn't.
