    Typical US commentators - for some reason almost every US fighter "had an off night" against Lewis. Why weren't they taking the fight to him? Why were they throwing away the opportunity? Foreman got it right with the Tua fight - it's because Lennox was out-boxing them and they couldn't get to him. Never got the credit he deserved - particularly in America.

      I'm cool with that. Who cares. The heavyweight Americans back then were nothing to waves the flag over. Lewis is cool and he had the best line in boxing: regarding Tyson, "I'm a fighter not a biter."

    Lewis never got the respect in boxing he deserved. A very tough, and skillfull boxer. He had a strong right hand that leveled most heavyweights. Tyson Fury wouldn't last against the Lion. Lennox is a true warrior. 👍

      I just remember that Tony during the match against Mike, don't succeeded to smash Mike with a SINGLE fist the prime Mike. Here while Tony put at the target some good punches combination. True, Tony twice at the carpet, but nothing of very and definitely distructive comes by Lewis. Prime Mike vs the best Lewis, it's what I wanted to see..

    Lennox lewis was a great fighter, better than any American during that era and literally beat every american shaming the same. But lennox lewis must not have been made to fight in the heavy weight division. They must create a super heavyweight division for big boxers like him.

    Watching this fight…….
    Tucker was a beast. Got the knock down but needed more stamina. Don’t know if age at this point was catching up to him or not but getting the knock down on Lewis showed how talented and strong he was. Slipping and falling showed me he was getting older and fatigued

  • @J.Crooner
    @J.Crooner Před 3 měsíci +2

    If Tony Tucker got in the ring and went the distance with Lennox Lewis then it's absolutely no excuses that Riddick Bowe can use for why he didn't defend the belt against the The Lion. Maybe it was the overhand right that dropped Tucker that had him shook, I SEE THAT NOW!!!!!😳🤣🤣🤣

    • @markhiggins8315
      @markhiggins8315 Před měsícem

      Bowe had already lost credibility and thrown the world title belt in the bin to avoid Lewis some time before this fight so whatever happened here had nothing to do with Bowe's chickening out of a Lewis fight.

    • @J.Crooner
      @J.Crooner Před měsícem

      @@markhiggins8315 That's precisely my point. Riddick Bowe didn't fight either one of these guys vs Lennox who did the very opposite. Lennox fought everybody he was supposed to fight in his career just like Holyfield did and they never dodged anybody for any reason. As great as Riddick Bowe was he now looks like fake champion for what he did and his struggles with Andrew Golota outside of the nut shots he took solidifies just how sad his situation ended. It's a "DAMN SHAME"!!!!!😩

      I don't think you saw Klitchkos face after his fight with Lewis. Lewis did him a big favor by not agreeing to a rematch under any circumstance. Lewis would have bashed in the other side of his face as well. It's the same with Frank Bruno. The public just wouldn't like it.

But the stupid ref stopped the fight and that was the only reason Lewis won even though Klitschko screwed him up in all rounds and would surely win the fight but then the chicken Lennox did not dare to accept reematch when Klitschko said I want reematch but instead run away and retired from Boxing cowardly with very very lucky victory shame on him !

      @@MiddleEast-4Ever oh really? You think it requires luck in order to bash in your opponent's face like that? I DON'T THINK SO. Do you think Lewis won that fight because he was lucky? I DON'T THINK SO. EITHER. The fight was stopped because Klitchkos corner men threw in the towel to save him from any further punishment. That in my opinion was the right thing to do. Those injuries on Klitchkos face are one of the worst injuries I have ever seen on a boxers face. And finally what was the point in having a rematch? What more did Lewis have to prove to the boxing world after that fight? Lewis quit while he was ahead, at his peak. He has made his money and he walked away peacefully and sensibly. He is the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time and a real gentleman.
