Dodge Charger does burn-outs in front of Arkansas State Police - Crowd shoots fireworks at police

On Wednesday, July 04, 2024, I was leaving the Pulaski County Jail, as I approached the area of Asher Ave. and Adams St. I
observed a large group of people in the middle of the roadway. A gray Dodge Charger was doing burn-outs in the middle of the
crowd, almost striking multiple subjects. As I approached the vehicle, it began to drive in circles into oncoming traffic. I activated
my unit's emergency equipment, attempting to stop the vehicle.
The vehicle began to flee driving eastbound on Asher Ave. towards my unit. I conducted a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (T.V.I.)
on the suspect vehicle causing Catastrophic damage to the front driver's side. The vehicle continued about one block before
coming to a stop near Asher Ave. and Washington St. due to the damage I inflicted.
While taking the driver, DeQuazius Jones into custody the crowd that was in the street began moving towards my location,
shooting fireworks at me and my vehicle, multiple fireworks struck the passenger side of my vehicle.
After placing Jones into handcuffs, I helped the passenger exit the suspect vehicle and placed her in the rear of
my unit. I searched the suspect vehicle and located a Micro Draco in the rear seat. The firearm was loaded with (22) cartridges
in the magazine and (1) cartridge loaded in the chamber.
Action Towing towed the suspect's vehicle to the Action Towing lot. Jhook Towing towed my vehicle to ASP Headquarters due
to receiving damage to the front driver's area. The firearm was stored at the Trooper A evidence vault to be submitted to the
State Crime Lab for testing.
[CHILD] was released to her mother, Jasmine Pennington. Jones was transported to Pulaski County Jail where he was
booked and charged with,
5-74-105 Unauthorized Use of Property (Fel)
5-27-205 Endangering the Welfare of a Minor (Fel)
5-54-125 Fleeing (Fel)
27-50-308 Reckless Driving (Misd)
27-16-303 Driving on Suspended License (Misd).
What's heartbreaking about the kid is hearing her say I have to hide daddy's phone from the police. So young and clearly she has seen and heard way too much!!!

And the kid knows the typical excuse: "He didn't mean to. Can you please let him go?" Wonder how many times he's heard mom or someone else pleading on dad's behalf. Father of the year. What a future this kid has. So very sad.

Yeah, it's Asher Ave. Quite possibly the shittiest part of the city. The whole area south of Markham and east of University is mostly ghetto slums.

Trooper report says he was just leaving the jail after dropping someone off, pulled out and seen the crowd and donut king down the street.
All the african parts of the city are like that. It is the environment they prefer.
This is just so incredibly sad. That poor kids only got their poor excuse for a father. No wonder there is such serious problems in that community. Hearing that kid i just wanted to give them a hug and take care of them.

Hearing that child's voice was heartbreaking, just knowing what future is in store based on what she is surrounded with for parents in her life. And what's wrong with people? Aholes firing fireworks at a police officer with a child in tow. Some people need their heads examined! I hope detectives went back and looked at video from the businesses in the area to figure out who was shooting at the child in the officer.

Everyone in the entire state of Arkansas driving a *Dodge Charger* has a suspended license & *can’t stay away from trouble.* 😔 I’m not saying that other drivers in other vehicles don’t have suspended licenses etc but they’re *smart enough to not commit* traffic *violations* or *attract unnecessary attention* while out in public. It’s *not that hard to stay out of trouble.*
