Great review Steven! I've got the ADV SKIN 12 vest, which is great! The Sense Pro 5 looks great also and seems to be slightly "simpler" than the 12 without loosing features or quality. I'd love to get the Pro 5.

Great review Steven, I’ve been a fan of the Sense Pro 5 as well! (It’s my first and only hydration vest) I will say that I got a Nathan 2L bladder to fit in the back pocket… I’ll keep you posted as to how that goes long term! And ditto on those hard tip soft flasks. I’ve made some adjustments so they don’t dig into my ribs (only one side gave me grief for some reason) 👍

I used to like Salomon vests until I tried Ultraspire’s and now all I wear is Ultraspire’s. Great attention to design detail and quality and great customer service from a smaller company

@@UltraTrailSteven I order all my flasks straight from the HydraPak website. They sell a 42mm locking cap that will fit a salomon flask. I also use their handheld SkyFlasks which have a locking cap. Good company and very quick to ship.

I'm on my second one of these (10L version) because the stitching fell apart on the first. Retailer replaced it. Second one is going the same way though but I've glued where it's starting. They fit one size smaller than the S/Lab vest.

May I ask your sizing on it ? What was your chest measurement. I know the older versions were very stretchy and had to move from a large to medium. ?
I’m thin. Chest size is 37-38”. 6’3” tall. 165lbs. This is a medium.
Apart from the colour its would be perfect
They do sell other colors. I think a red and black.

Is there any difference between the Sense Pro 5 shown in this video, and the Sense Pro 5 that is currently being sold? Maybe it is a 2022 vs 2023 thing. The new one looks like it just has a different logo on the back..

In my opinion, this vest is far more comfortable! But… if you need a bladder, the UD would be better.

I’ve had this one for awhile and really like the fit and functionality. Super light and well placed storage for sub-marathon training runs and 50K-50M races with aid station support. You nailed one con about the leakage on the spouts on the water bottle lids - minor annoyance, but could still be improved. I noticed one major negative though - the shoulder straps rub on my chest. Not noticeable during the run, but it snags and tears fibers of my technical shirts which is really disappointing. Anyone have this problem and find ways to fix it with fit adjustments?

@zschloesz7595 I got the adv skin sense 5 . I've had it for 1 year and use it atleast every weekend and the material holds of great. Definitely worth the money. It only damaged a shirt I got from dicks very very slightly from rubbing . The shirt was $20 so it could have just been the shirt because of the cost lol.
I actually never got into road marathons I've been doing ultras ,I skipped the 26.2 distance . I hope this helps

@@UltraTrailSteven For your information, I looked more closely at photos of the Sense Pro 5 and can confirm it has the eyelets necessary to hook the Quiver.

No. A waist pack would be your best bet. As far as vests go, this is one of the better ones.

No I did not. Would be a good idea though. My shirt from the back was a bit wet when I took it out.

If you want use bladder you have the Salomon Advance serie vests.

@@TrailSage I haven't Salomon vests. The Sense serie is the race serie from Salomon, and the vests from ADV Skin serie are more structured vests, a bit heavier with bladder support. You have 5 and 12 liters of capacity. There are many videos in CZcams.
Difference between sense pro and adv skin?
Different materials. Sense Pro is a thinner lighter material. Not as stretchy.
This hard bottomed flask gives me some rib pain for long distance running. Is there any way to reduce the pain?
Don't use those flasks. It does the same to me. I like the regular Salomon flasks.

@@khwan1 not sure there is anyway other than to wear them and maybe that area of the ribs will get used to it. Maybe wrap the bottom of the flask in some KT Tape or moleskin?

I don't like Salomon's vests. No matter how much you tighten it, everything still bounces around because it is so stretchy, can even see that in your video clip. When I tighten a vest, I want it to be rigid, why I use UD vests. Just a preference of mine, I know Salomon vests are hugely popular.
I only have experience with this one Salomon vest, but for me, it didn’t bounce near as much as my UD vests. But the vest will obviously fit differently on different people due to body shapes and sizes. Glad you found one that you like!
