The last time I was there the morning was very clear and yes it is a very beautiful place not many people, but it is one of my favorite places in Japan. The morning walks are very pleasing to the soul. good work Norm. 👍. Watch your step at 4:58 coming down the old steps as my wife stepped on a loose paving stone and went head over heels, more fright than pain was had, all OK though 👍.

Gorgeous and breathtaking rain or shine, though I think I prefer the atmosphere and moodiness of the UA rainy vid slightly more. :) Seeing the pagoda and falls photo on a travel book is probably one of the first things that drew me to wanting to travel Japan. It's set as one of the final locations to visit on the Shikoku Pilgrimage trip when I actually manage it. This was an amazingly peaceful and rewarding early morning walk. Thank you for this tranquility. 💜✌🐦

I did Nachi Falls back in 2017 though I did not stay overnight in the area. You can do it as a day trip from Osaka but it will take you the entire day. Start your day early around 7am, take the first train from Osaka Station (JR Kuroshio) to Kii Katsuura Station which will have you arrive before noon. It's a 4-4.5hr train ride but it's a very scenic one, past coastline etc. You can then take a local bus (right outside of Kii Katsuura station) and be at Nachi Falls in 25 minutes. Alternatively, one or two stops before Nachi Falls (there are two different entry points), you can trek a small section (500m) of the Komono Kodo trek called Daimon zaka which will take you to the town adjacent to the falls (where Norm started his video).
You'll have around five hours of exploring before you need to take the bus back to the train station a little after 5pm (it's right down at the bottom of the stairs that Norm walked down just as he was approaching the falls, where the little village is). You can then take the Kuroshio back to Osaka at 6pm and arrive back at 10pm. So for a 15 hour day you get 5 hours of exploring....definitely worth it! 😊

This video felt so peaceful but exciting to watch! It made me wish I could go out for a nice walk at a nice area, too. That place is beautiful.
There's so many stairs and they all lead to places I'm curious about! I really wish you had followed the stairs you were hiking on until the end lol. There's also stairs going down near the waterfall, too. I do hope that there's a video someday of you exploring those areas, too.
I kinda can relate with wanting to appreciate the place you live in through other people. I watch foreign vloggers travel and eat food here in my country cause while to me, the things they're seeing and eating aren't new, to them it is. It's fun to experience it as something new through other people.

As I've been watching your excitement for stairs, moss, alleyways, etc, I kinda get some of that and they found it weird seeing me taking soooo many pictures of just seemingly random stuff. 😊 Also, as it turns out, it is difficult to hike in the hills.🤔 Too flat in the Netherlands....

Has it really been three years since the last video of Nachi Taisha? Holy smokes, it doesn't feel like it. I went back and read my own comment and all those feelings of wonder and mystique still hold true. Always will I feel. No rain this time though! I woke up at 5am today and had some time to finally watch the video and I'm glad I did. Always a treat to see such beauty on display.
I feel like I say this more frequently than I should and wind up sounding like a broken record, but as a foreigner who tries to practice Shinto to the best of my abilities, these shrine visits are very special to me. I doubt I'll ever get the opportunity to visit Japan. So these feel like the very best thing that I can manage. It brings tears to my eyes on a multitude of levels. Mostly out of joy and beauty. So, I want to thank you, very sincerely from my heart. Thank you.

Hey mate, back in October I followed that same route from your first video about the Nachi falls, and 1000% it is that good, I loved it, my only regret is not buying the most epic goshuin book, which is only sold there. I will definitely go back. Fun fact I'm right now in Aomori, and found my second favority shrine in Japan the Takayama Inari Shrine, small but has the beauty to match. I will follow the adventures and will follow your steps.

A gorgeous spot - perhaps I will be able to visit nexr year. The discussion about tourists visiting Japan reminded me of my time growing up in New Zealand in the 1970's when Japan was a wealthy country and many Japanese visited New Zealand, not always the best-behaved visitors themselves. As a tourist I do try and treat everywhere as if it were my own country, but of course just by visiting I'm undoubtedly having some kind of effect.

I am not a hiker or one who exercises. One time I took a walk with a friend through a park. It says the trail is for the avid hiker, spans almost 2 miles and takes over 2 hours. 2 miles doesn't seem that much. To start the hike you go down steps and you end it on same steps. When I got to the end my legs were shaking. They make the steps extra tall and I had trouble getting back up. I almost couldn't make it.

That IS an absolute beautiful walk! Thank you again for taking us with you.
Let’s hope the Yen will increase in value again or that Japan can find a reasonable solution to compensate and make it easier.
