Hamburg, my hometown. "Fabrik" one of the best locations to get 'near'. Missed that concert by a youth hero, so sad. Still one of my favs ever. "Lady in Black" from album "Salisbury" will be on my eternal playlist. RIP, Ken Hensley. And thank You very much for the moments U added to ty life; saw Uriah Heep several times in late 70ties. Some of those eternal flames.
Echt obergenial! Bin erst 16 und fand das Lied schon geil als ich das zum ersten Mal im Radio gehört hab. SuperMega...ach mir fällt einfach nix mehr ein. :)
GREAT PERFORMANCE OF THE ORIGINAL 1971 STUDIO RELEASE BY HEEP,ON A SIMILAR GOOD FEELING LEVEL, AS WITH, RITCHIE BLACKMORE' S, BLACKMORE' S NIGHT. LOVE THE SAX AND VIOLIN ADDITIONS. FIRST HEARD THIS WHEN I WAS 21,THE HEEP LP, SALISBURY WAS A BIRTHDAY PRESENT FROM MY FRIEND, MARK RINGLAND FROM SOUTH AYRSHIRE, THANK YOU MARK, YEARS LATER IN 1995, WHILST DRIVING IN BERLIN, GERMANY, HEARD IT ON DAYTIME RADIO, SRANGE (BUT ELATED), AT THE TIME, AS NEVER EVER HEARD THEM ON RADIO IN THE UK.UNDERRATED.
Ken Hensley and John Lawton like this together yet always very cool and his end the electric violinist John Smithson... Hey! ...was there on the implement very much
I still love the words to this song, even more timely today than back in the day. I can't say the sax goes with it much. Still nice to see Hensley in good voice. I don't know how he recorded the original version. I was once in a garage band (we were awful) and tried to cover this. You have to take a massive deep breath between vocal lines. The words just never pause. We had to wind up alternating lines between two "singers" to catch our breaths. Amazing stuff.

wardka.....I'm 55 now. I have been listening to Heep since I was 12. So many changes. So......you are totally right, sax doesn't fit. What frustrates...cannot pick a favorite song. Timely back in the day............lol'ing One of my favorites besides most of them.........1st Heep song I ever heard...."Gypsy." I was totally hooked. Ever watched their early videos? Love their music but what............no stage presence. Loved Hensley..."Lady in Black." Grinning like a virgin boy !!!
MARK RINGLAND, FROM SOUTH AYRSHIRE, INTRODUCED ME TO, URIAH HEEP, THANKS TO YOU MARK, SUCH A WONDERFUL BAND. MANY MANY THANKS, THEN TO, IAIN MC LAREN, AN OTHER SOUTH AYRSHIRE LAD, IN FACT, MOSTLY FOR THE AYR, IN AYRSHIRE WITH HIS LOVE FOR , AYR UNITED, HIS KNOWLEDGE ABOUT URIAH HEEP, AND THEIR GREAT CONNECTIONS, IS FANTASTIC, DRIVEN BY GREAT FAN WORSHIP AND ENTHUISIASM, RIGHTLY SO, FOR THIS GREAT GROUP. TOTALLY UNDERRATED IN THE UK, THEN HOWEVER, GREATNESS IS NOT FOUND IN CONTEMPORARY TRENDS.
ООО, MrKen!!! Сколько энергии,сколько жизни!!!Восторг , уважение и благодарность Вам MrKen!!!

"Lady in Black" für Sonja nach UZ
Музыка на все времена!
Супер :3 В свои года очень красиво) Видно что тяжело, красиво
one of the best perfomances
She came to me one morning
One lonely Sunday morning
Her long hair flowing in the mid-winter wind
I know not how she found me
For in darkness I was walking
And destruction lay around me
From a fight I could not win
Ah, ah, ah
She asked me name my foe then
I said the need within some men
To fight and kill their brothers without thought of men or God
And I begged her give me horses
To trample down my enemies
So eager was my passion to devour this waste of life
Ah, ah, ah
But she would not think of battle that
Reduces men to animals
So easy to begin and yet impossible to end
For she the mother of all men
Had counciled me so wisely that
I feared to walk alone again
And asked if she would stay
Ah, ah, ah
Oh, lady, lend your hand, I cried
Oh, let me rest here at your side
Have faith and trust in me, she said and filled my heart with life
There is no strength in numbers
I've no such misconceptions
But when you need me be assured I won't be far away
Ah, ah, ah
excellentissime !
