    It’s like a cassette tape but with the ability to face each other like a mirror.

      Good comparison! Like a tape ribbon with electrical wires running through it 👍

    Thank you for the video. One advice for you. The black wire shall in the COM connector, not in the amp connector in the multimeter.

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  Před rokem

      Hey good catch! I must have been using it for checking something else and forgot it was in the Amp port. Having it in the COM port would have been the right port. Thanks for pointing that out 👍

    My horn goes off ,soo i changed my whole steering wheel,after changing it run good for like a 2 yrs then same thing ,can the problem be the clock spring ?

    Beware.... On Ebay etc, most sellers don't know the difference between a Clock Spring and the Steering Angle Sensor. ( The SAS is for cars that have Vehicle Stability Control and tells the computer how much the Steering Wheel has been turned) As shown here, the Clock Spring is just to connect Horn, Airbag and other ancillaries to the other side of the column.

    My wheel is turning lisse all the way but tires stay still Ford Edge 2010 clock spring ??

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  Před rokem

      I wouldn't think the clock spring would be the issue. The clock spring only allows wiring on the steering wheel to pass through the column without getting tangled up. I would hook up a scan tool and monitor the steering wheel position sensor as you're turning the wheel. You may also have codes that will point you in a direction for diagnosis.

    Can a clockspring be repaired

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  Před 19 dny

      I don't want to say it's impossible but it would be very difficult. You would need to take the ribbon out and locate the break. After repairing the ribbon you would need to assemble it all back together.

    I still don’t understand why they made it so difficult 🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s just a horn . Wouldn’t it still be easier to run seperate WIRE From a spring loaded button behind the centre of the spring loaded hub . It seems like a scam - in Australia 2023 👉 to bye the clock spring unit costs , just over $500 dollars 🤦🏻‍♀️.
