Sadie and I recently got back from backpacking 118 miles in 7 days on the Tour Du Mont Blanc in France, Italy and Switzerland and it was incredible! We bought the tickets only about a month prior to leaving and figured it out as we went. Keep an eye out for the full trip film coming soon! Is this trip on your bucket list?
There is a trekking company that does a guided hike tour of Du Mont Blanc. It looks unreal. You and your videos have definitely influenced me to hike/get out more and see the sights.
Great tips and video. I'm looking forward to seeing more footage from the trip
It looked like an absolutely beautiful trip! 😄👍
Absolutely gorgeous tips bud, this was presented so professionally! Bravo 👏
Yup 😊
Thanks for the video. We are going to do it with my wife starting next week. We didn't have time to plan either, so I'm happy to hear that it worked well for you. Looking forward to a more in depth description of the route you took.
You’re welcome. Have a fun trip!
Thanks for all the great recommendations 😊
You bet!
Really helpful video thank you! Me and my partner are backpacking the trail in 2024 and looking forward to it.
You bet, have a fun trip!
Always have your towel😉

thanks for this awesome list.....i'm thining of upgrading to a clip for my backpack to keep my camera more handy....do you really like the peak designs?
Thank you!! This was super helpful mate. The info around refuges , camping, accommodation, meals was exactly what i was looking for. Did you guys also use showers at the refuges? If so, how was the accessibility.....Was it only for staying guests or non guests could also use it for a fee?
Glad it was helpful! We did not use any showers at refuges so I am not sure how that would work. sorry!
Really thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. Please what to buy as a Sim Card? Can I find one in Chamonix?
Hi thanks for sharing such good information, one quick question, where can I buy a cheaper used trekking poles at Chamonix?
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Hi! thanks for the informative video, really enjoyed it.
I would greatly appreciate your help...
I suppose to land in Geneva on July 2 at 9:40 am
I wanted to know if you think I will be able to get to Les
Contamines Montjoie (14km +/-) on the same day or is it better for me to wait the day in Chamonix and start the trek the day after?
You’re very welcome! Possible? Absolutely. I don’t think you’d regret spending a day in Chamonix seeing the town and getting a fresh start the next day, though. Have fun either way!
Can you bring trekking poles, tent stakes on plane? Do you need to check-in your full Rei backpack? Thank you. We will hike TMB in Sep, also want to avoid luggage loss in transit...
I have heard of people carrying both on the plane without issues but also have heard of people having problems. We just carried on our whole REI bags to avoid checking anything and bought poles when we arrived for $30 a piece. We used our trekking poles as our tent stakes. We had hopes of traveling to other cities after the hike and decided that not having trekking poles after would be more convenient so we gave them away. Hope that helps!
Did you have any group carrying your packs on the plane? We check our tent and trekking poles because we have heard they aren’t always allowed. And our bags we didn’t think they would allow on cause they are so big
We didn’t have any problem only doing carry on. We bought tent stakes and trekking poles in Chamonix when we got there.
Hi whar did u stay and whar was the lockers
Were you able to bring your tent on the carry on? Also, how did you plan out where to wild camp? And which campsites did you need to buy for? Also which hostels do you go at?
Yes, we brought the tent on carry on without the stakes. We didn’t really plan anything out, we just figured it out day to day. The whole itinerary/where we stayed is on my blog post roadtoridge.com/adventures/backpacking-118-miles-in-7-days-on-the-tour-du-mont-blanc-our-gear-itinerary?format=amp
@@ChaseChristopher1 also for the campsites did you prebook the ones in switzerland or did you just pay up front with cash or card?
@@bradleycrissman6554 I think I pre-booked it on my phone the night before and paid the balance with cash once we arrived. I think it would be ok to just show up and pay on the spot, cash or card.
Hi! Thank you for the info. May I know the name of the hostel you stayed at where lockers were available? Thank you!

No problem! It was the Auberge de Jeunesse, link to it is in other commnt.
Great video! My partner and I are trying to find the place you stayed where the locker can be rented?
Sorry, my blog link needed to get updated. @@ChaseChristopher1 Thank you, I read through your blog and checked out your website. Great content! Looking forward to watching more of your travel videos. We did manage to find the hostel name by looking at the corkboard on your video as you were approaching the hostel. The name on the hostel itself was not providing us with the correct search. Hi! France is where we were able to book it, not through any other platforms. Thanks again for messaging back and Happy Travels!!
@@cdwalks5243 you’re very welcome! Thanks for the comment, I hadn’t realized link was dead. Good detective work👍 I hope you guys have an awesome trip! I’m already dreaming of doing it again someday!
how about phone signal? do you have roaming service? how about charges?
Fantastic video. Thanks for sharing. sub & 👍285
Thank you so much 👍
220$ for a Nemo sleeping pad...tent 550$....nope...
Yeah, they are quite pricey. There certainly are cheaper options available that’ll do just fine but are heavier.
Good gear is worth every penny...spent the night in Timpanogos mountain pouring down rainstorm...woke up dry as a bone, our Nemo tent exceeded expectations!
