    Thanks for making this video and I wish it was available 4 weeks ago so I know where all the campgrounds are each night. I'm going there next week for 6 days but will do daily hike instead on certain trails and come back to town to sleep. Maybe tent one\two night on the France side. Next year, I will hike thru with tenting overnight and a few refugios stay if this trip goes well. And maybe do it in late July and Aug when weather is more sunny. Weather channel said thunderstorms and rain every day next week, not sure if that's only in mountains. Thanks again.

      @WanderwithXander  Před 4 měsíci +2

      I can totally imagine! The TMB is one of the most populair multi day treks of Europe i would say. The wilderness of USA and Europe are hard to compare. Maybe the trail from Chamonix to Matterhorn? Im not to familiair with wilderness treks. The more East you go in Europe you will find some more wilderness. Or in Scandinavia perhaps. Good luck!

    Hi,
    thanks again for the informative video.
    I would greatly appreciate your help...
    I suppose to land in Geneva on July 2 at 9:40 am
    I wanted to know if you think I will be able to get to Les
    Contamines Montjoie (14km +/-) on the same day or is it better for me to wait the day in Chamonix and start the trek the day after?

    • @WanderwithXander
      @WanderwithXander  Před 24 dny +1

      I think it will be more relaxed if you start a day later from Les Houches. Depends on the time of arrival at Chamonix or les Houches. Its contains some bigger climbs to Contamine! If you're camping you can also just start from Les Houches and Camp after the first climb! Thats what i did

    Thanks for that video! And I have a question, is any risk I'm not gonna be able to bokked places on campings or shelters for night? Should I called them at same day, or day before? We planned to go in August

    • @WanderwithXander
      @WanderwithXander  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Campsites will be less of a problem. Shelter might be best the day before and the same day if the day before didnt work out! :)

    Really helpful video, it has answered quite a few of my questions. Just one thing, is it really necessary to take crampons? I'm starting the tour on 19 June and I'll be carrying a lot of stuff. I'm guessing the answer is check snow conditions before setting off.

    • @WanderwithXander
      @WanderwithXander  Před rokem +1

      Maybe you will only need it at the Cho La! I think its a glacier which never melts. Also tryable without crampons but way less nice haha

    We also plan to hike TMB in Sep. Do you think it is possible to camp at Col de Seigne in that season? Is it too windy? As the next available campsite in this stage is in Val Veny, quite far from Refuge de la Croix du Bonhomme. Thank you!

    Question while watching this video. I can climb up easily but descending is problematic and I take time so that I do not overstress my knees. Do you think that clockwise is better option for me in that case?

    • @WanderwithXander
      @WanderwithXander  Před rokem +1

      I think it won't really matter that much. But you might be wise to look into the possibilities of taking lifts down the mountains, since there will be some steep descends. Or try descending backwards (really helps haha) and use your poles effectively! Good luck !!

    • @365tage9
      @365tage9 Před rokem +1

      @@WanderwithXander haha, thanks. Lifts are fine, but I would try (by taking all measures) to hike on foot totally. So, I decided that I would go anti-clockwise facing Mont Blanc. Thanks for this video. Not sure if you have any fitness video yet, but having such video can help for those who are going to train for the hike. :)
