      Looks like our decision to wait for the 2025 refresh will pay off. Our main hold off was the rear wiper but looks like there are lots of new goodies coming!

  • @Molishious

    Wow, this is better than I could have hoped for. Lots of cool new changes including heated seat buttons, rear wiper, no low conductivity fluid, and a bigger battery. I am truly excited. Thanks for the update.

    My 3 biggest gripes with my current ioniq 5 are the lack of rear wipers, the lack of tactile controls for heated seats, and the lack of wireless CarPlay so this is definitely peaking my interests

  • @aatheus
    @aatheus Před 2 měsíci +9

    Honestly, the rear wiper and full OTA updates being added are VERY tempting to me. I've driven in blinding rain a lot in the last month, and I basically have an unusable rear view through the back window. Not having to pay for a round-trip Lyft for software updates is super tempting too

    • @ntm787
      @ntm787 Před 2 měsíci

      my pickup truck rear window is basically useless too... I just use my side mirrors. Is the lack of rear wiper really enough to keep me from getting into a 2024 year model?

  • @Yanquetino
    @Yanquetino Před 2 měsíci +3

    Nice. Yes, I'd like a bigger battery, but from my experience I know that we rarely drive more than 150 miles before needing a restroom, so… our 260-mile range suffices. The rear window washer is welcome, but honestly, the digital rearview mirror already solves that problem for me. Also, I prefer MY console, not only because it slides, but also because the cup holders are side-by-side, and it leaves the floor area wide open. I understand that the 2025 model will now have a J3400 charging port, but I'll eventually be able to replicate that with an adapter, so no big deal. All the other changes? Bells-and-whistles IMHO. Thanks for confirming that I will have no regrets with my 2024 Limited model!

    • @jennyduncan11
      @jennyduncan11 Před 2 měsíci

      I agree. We have the 2024 AWD long range it's great. The rear view camera does it for me. No need for the wiper. My wife wants it tho. I feel like we get better than 260 miles. I pretty sure we also get OTA updates now.
      USB c plugs are cool but all our wires are USB-A to C now so non issue. And wireless car play not an issue for us either....we never had any car play stuff...lol

    Yeah, good stuff. What I would really like to see is the RWD version getting a little more power along with 18-19" wheels to enhance range (Polestar 2 RWD/Volvo EX30 approach). When I look at EV6s available in my area the version that is easy to get is the GT Line. So I'm not sure adding an N-Line here is a great idea from a sales point as it will likely be more expensive than the Limited. IMHO preservation of performance, range, and affordability is the name of the game.

It must have the NACS port so we can put this charging issue to rest. All the other changes seemed positive so far from what you just shared. I am so glad they didn't substantially change the way the car looks. I was really afraid they were going to muck up the retro modern look. Good job Hyundai. Definitely going to keep my 2023 I5. The new Infotainment has it's advantages but probably also comes with the annoying mandatory speed alert over here in Europe, and everything else is irrelevant or even a downgrade for me. I really, really like my 2023.

    Damn the Ioniq 5 N-line with 4WD is the perfect option for me! Love the body styling of the N, but I don't need the full arsenal! Better range, rear wiper, buttons for seat heat/cool is very welcome. lots of small needed upgrades. almost a maybe perfect car for me! 👌
    I really just hope new headlights are much better and that the interior door handles are aluminium now, because I hate that plastic!

    I wonder if the larger battery will be available in the EV6 since the wheel base is 2.9M vs the Ionic 5’s 3.0M wheel base. One must assume the EGMP skateboard under the EV6 is 100mm shorter then the Ionic 5, hence less space available.

    • @Dqtube
      @Dqtube Před 2 měsíci

      It was mentioned that the battery pack volume remains the same, and if you look at the specs of both cars, the amount of battery cells is the same (384 cells in 32 modules). So perhaps it should be possible for a facelifted version of the EV6 to get this battery.

    Very nice changes and I think Hyundai has really worked hard to improve things! Not enough for me to trade my 2022 in but very cool to see this! Looking forward to seeing how you like the 2025 when one arrives in your driveway!

    I'm really hoping this one has NACS in the U.S. One thing i've never been able to confirm or find a clear answer on yet is if the whole NACS on 2025 cars means "model year" 2025 cars (ones coming out later this year in 2024) or cars releasing in the year 2025 (which would be model year 2026).

    I really like what I see. Especially since they didn't try to screw up with the exterior design. And extra battery capacity is absolutely something that would instantly make me consider trading in the current model for this upcoming one - even though my daily commute is usually less than 50 miles I would still want to have as much battery capacity as I can for unforeseen emergencies where I would have to drive very far away with no available charging on the way, or when I will want to power the house during prolonged power outage.

    • @amperformance7998
      @amperformance7998 Před 2 měsíci

      I think it just means that the battery and motors are cooled using a single circuit with longer-life coolant, much like the EV6, instead of the dual-circuit system (with special, expensive, low conductivity coolant) used in series-1 Ioniq5s.

    • @MrBucko1990

      The Ioniq 5 is an outlier with the current low conductivity fluid that requires changing. It’s a costly maintenance job.

    Pretty much nailed anything that's been bugging me: Rear wiper, check. Wireless Android Auto, Check, Awkward placement of wireless charging pad, check. Awkward access for seat warmers, check. If they do end up including the NACS charging port in this model year, and Tesla Supercharger integration goes through, I maaaay just have to consider a trade in. Are there going to be similar updates incoming for the EV6 too?

      This has been a unique problem for markets that use 110-120V as a base voltage and this is the Korean spec and this problem doesn't exist in these versions, because it utilizes a different type of charger for 3 phases AC.

    Here are my questions:
    1) Expected improved reliability (knowing it's a bit hit and miss)?
    2) Better turning radius?
    3) NMC or LFP battteries?
    4) Better driver ergonomy (like toyota you need either long arms or short legs)?
    5) Can we expect to see our speed when wheel is adujsted at the right height?
    5) Prices?
    My comment:
    The key fob is big and there's no spare key? Really?

    It is compelling because there are several improvements, and I would actually like the car to be a bit quieter so that's pretty attractive. The cell phone charger I think is ineffective at best in my 2024. Sad thing is, I've only had my 2024 car a few months so I won't be able to upgrade right away. But love the experience so far and really appreciate these videos!

    Things I’ll be surprised if we see them: Rear Heated Seat, Rear Power Sliding Seat, Memory Card for cameras and Passenger Bolster Buttons so others can move it. These switches and bits slot cost next to nothing but so does a center console that moves vs is being stationary. While considering other regional features differences I’m curious about the good/poor indicator on the climate control screen.🤔I like the changes on the rear bumper light/reflector and can only hope the N LINE front bumper pixel garnish👍🏼 vs the double line Limited version has some startup sequence(s) that come with the cost of the car and isn’t a paid for feature like the EV9. The rear seat release buttons are a nice addition along with a one hand lift. The 8.6% battery capacity is welcome and I can only hope there is a 20% cooling capacity to support that maximum charge rate on those hot summer days. I think the 25 year comes a bit early with the GA factory start up that is moving up the schedule as well. Looking forward J3400 supporting that same 18 minutes charge rate widely.💯
