Imagine you're in an arcade in 1993 playing some Street Fighter 2 and a guy walks in with this. Can you imagine how dumbfounded you'd be to see something this small running the game you're playing on a full sized arcade cabinet? Now by today's standards the emulation is pretty bad, but in the 90s and even early 2000s this thing would have blown minds.
Sure at this time the most powerful handhelds we had were the Atari Lynx and Pc Engine GT. The most impressive handheld game at the time was Street Fighter 2 on the PC Engine which was VERY impressive for its time. However this emulation handheld would have been another level unbelievable even at these frame rates.

i think the logic of this argument is very flawed, this handheld plays meh very old generations of games compared to today's standards. Instead, back in 1993, we already had stuff like the GameGear by couple years.. which could actually play stock Master System cartridges through an adapter (so literally the immediate previous gen of home console HW made 100% portable, actually slightly improved, one that was already more powerful than the rival NES in the first place!) . it was backlit, in color, you could watch cartoons using the TV tuner. So you would have been the boss anyway if you walked in Arcades with that. In proportion even the Nintendo Switch is not as remarkable..

Thanks Wicked...you're meant to spend your money on these cheap devices so we don't waste ours...but this review is so much better than I expected I've ordered mine on the strength of your opinion...the 'Disk' pad looks odd but master system and a few third party controllers had 8way dpads back in the day...a few frame drops don't bother me rather bad in game music and apparently sounds fine for the most part...I await my Package from China! specs
I've had my Q8 for a couple of days now and already probably had my $20 worth out of it I like it Raiden looks and plays great on it For the price it's not bad at all
The new version of this console are coming with a new firmware version, i don't no if the performance get a increase, but i think what a cfw it's possible coming soon.
@@WickedGamerCollector I've had the Q8 for about a week, figured out how to operate the settings, I played Super Punch out, Super Contra, Pit Fighter, Sonic Advance, without any issues at all. Battery life seems good, the game titles are in Chinese despite setting the language to English, but for $25 I can't complain. Cool &fun little handheld. Now I'm waiting on an x9s handheld to arrive 😁 My wife is going to shake her head when she see's another game console arrive 😬 haha

Hey wicked, I just received mine in the mail and even though I switched it to English all the title are in Chinese still. You didnt happen to do anything speacil to yours did you?
Got mine and tested for a few weeks. The only 3d game it can run so far was the gba mario kart. But it can run cave story for the megadrive :o the sound is pretty bad for this one, and the megadrive button layout is kinda messed up, but its playable.

that stuff looks like one of those kids toys with water. where you make the rings shoot over a needle. i'm surprised that it actually works pretty well. and for 20 bucks, it's actually not that bad. good enough for an entry level video game thing for kids, instead of letting them use your phone/tablet.

I really enjoyed playing this. It has nice buttons and somewhat decent emulation. Buti really hated the screen. If only the screen is a bit better. Left eye is brighter right eye is darker.
Hahaha.. i totally understand the question, most of these handhelds have 8-bit, opendingux or android. and there they come in 2020 with an all new multi platform cheap and wicked handheld ...

This can run more emulators with the bitt boy firmware, but the screen goes sideways and the buttons aren't configured. Anyone have a fix??
