The one item I currently need is the 32" T-Square and the Woodpeckers version is on sale but even with the $50 off (including shipping) the total of my order was going to be way over 2x as much as the GoingMake. I like your videos. If there’s one thing I can suggest…your voice sounds strained as though you’re trying to keep it raised throughout the video. There are a couple of times when it’s not strained and we can hear the true timber of your voice.
    I would suggest that you increase your volume diaphragmatically. Focus on maintaining the bass and timber of your voice while speaking louder, almost as if you’re separating your voice from your volume. Start in small volume increases. Don’t let your voice get higher, only louder. You’ll get it in no time.
    Again, great vids. I bought the shelf jig because of your last video and just love it. Thank you.

    FlynnDogg! My dude is killin' it with the tool reviews. I am extremely thankful that you take the time to find really good tools for those of us that can't afford a collection of Woodpecker gear. I know you personally don't need alternative tools and you do it for us! FlynnDogg is the BIG-DOG looking out for the community. I follow a ton of woodworkers and NOBODY is doing it like FlynnDogg. He has an alternative for just about every red tool I can think of that most of us would use.
    I really want to try out some of those T-squares. I've always wanted the red brand but holy cow! I need a financing plan just to get a tiny L shaped square 😂
    I also want an honing guide. I checked Woodpeckers and I THINK they brought back the original model the Bangood version is based on but it's much more costly. The only thing I don't like about
    The Goingmake guide is it doest have a fixed positive stop for the chisel blade. The line leaves room for variances and error. The degree doesn't have to be spot on but users (I mean me lol) might set up the chisel on the line, a little past the line or a little before. That changes the grind angle each time. With the red models the blade bumps up against a solid stop duplicating the angle every time.
    The other tools you showed all look really cool! I don't know what I would do with a 45 degree clamp either but I can say I can do it would be reason enough 👍
    Appreciate you making Saturday mornings awesome! Keep it going!

    • @PJRayment
      @PJRayment Před 5 měsíci

      I agree bout the lack of the fixed positive stop. Also, although the red one only has one pair of wheels, they can still be swapped over to allow for both narrow (chisel) and wide (plane) blades, so it's not clear that these offer any advantage over the red one.

    • @FlynndoggWoodwork
      @FlynndoggWoodwork  Před 5 měsíci

    As another commenter mentioned, the honing guide lacks the positive stop of the red one from Banggood that you reviewed, so I'm not sure why this one would be better.
    And I gather than the corner squares only work on the inside of a corner, unlike the other ones you pictured? So this would be a trade-off: you gain the ability to clamp at 45%, but lose the ability to clamp on the outside.

    • @FlynndoggWoodwork
      @FlynndoggWoodwork  Před 5 měsíci

      Both excellent points! Thank you so much for sharing. I had completely forgotten about that positive stop on the other honing guides. Thank you for reminding me. You are indeed correct with the corner squares as well. They would be limited to inside corners. That being said, I honestly can’t remember the last time I’ve used one of the L squares on the outside. Probably need to do that more often, just to solidify my squareness on my corners. Excellent points once again!

    FYI, striking a line on both sides of the t-square does NOT test for square. It tests that both sides are parallel. If the handle is cocked a degree or two then it won't show up with the test you did. To over exaggerate this, think of striking a line from the outside edge and the inside edge of the 45 degree side of a speed square. The lines would be identical, but definitely NOT square. Testing that both sides is still a useful test of accuracy, though.
    To test for square you would need to either flip the t-square over and strike a line or strike a line from the other end of the board (after verifying that both sides of the board are parallel).

    • @PJRayment
      @PJRayment Před 5 měsíci

I would argue that the lines you drew in the manner you drew them does NOTHING to measure the “squareness” of the tools. There is an easy, obvious way that involves drawing lines in a similar way that would measure the squareness, but what you did ain’t it.

All this does is test the uniformity of thickness of the ruler. If it was cocked to one side and out of square this test would not find that. In every video, you ask for a "like and subscribe." I have subscribed since your first video and have looked forward to each one. Your reviews are spot-on. I can no longer click on the "thumbs-up" button as long as you insist on having these distractions. The presence of your "cousins" is distracting and impacts the quality of your videos. Please return to honest tool reviews and leave the comedy to others. Thank you.

      Just trying to have fun with woodworking. There are plenty of "serious" woodworking channels out there. This is not one of them. The whole reason I made this channel was to have some fun with it.

      I respect that. It’s your channel and you can do whatever you please with it.
      My point is that you’re alienating some of your audience. If you continue to have these two characters in your videos, I will look elsewhere. It’s a shame, because your woodworking content is unique - that’s the reason I initially subscribed to your channel.
      Thank you.

    Maybe 9 percent for a video that has 80k views , but some videos are probably 80 percent of us subscribers

      Yeah, that is very true! I know a lot of my tuesday videos that I release are probably more subscribers than non-subscribers. Thanks as always for watching Wealro!

    Typical Chinese copies I will never buy. Not even close to European or USA brands. Then there are the ethical aspects of supporting a country with an autocratic (communist) government. No thanks. I’ll stay with Festool, Woodpeckers and the likes.
