Great video, we were on the plane up to Kotzebue with you. We hunted the same week. Flew out with Golden eagle. We went 4 for 4. Had an amazing adventure. Congrats on your success.
Great trip, its tough walking on tundra the fall colors are worth it. Most of those hunting units up around Kotzebue are closed to non-locals for the next 2 years, so me being an Alaskan living in the city can't hunt up there. Thanks for sharing your hunt and congratulations.
Welcome to Alaska. Great video. Congrats on the two you did get. Need some GOPros for the visitors. You all handled those encounters quite well. Keep posting.
Excellent video!! I am heading after caribou the first week of august out of Kotze with Ram aviation. I am so excited. After watching your video I think I will make room for the bear fence.😂
We had all our own gear and food. We paid for an air taxi essentially. We went with ram aviation so you can look that up on their prices. It was around 800 for a over counter caribou tag and then we use Alaskan credit card so get free commercial flights with points. Still figure around 6 grand a piece and memories money can’t begin to buy!
Congratulations guys, very nice and exciting trip, specially the bear encounters. How did you pack the meat and antlers to be shipped safely in the airplane?
With the meat, when we got back to the hanger we put it in fish boxes and took it to the local hotel that has a freezer they let hunters use. It froze over night and we used it as checked luggage on Alaska airline. Antlers were put on a freight plane that keeps them frozen to anchorage a taxidermist picks them up and pickles them then sends a big shipment to the states and we met 2 hours from our house to pick them up.
Sweet! I believe we flew out the 23rd of august.. it was the funnest hunt I have been on.. tell everybody at ram that the girl from Idaho that shot hers with her bow says hi:)
This is awesome. A major bucket list item for me.
