Beautiful song. When I hear it again, i think about how it must sound to hear thousands of people singing this together at live show and the irony/cohesion therein. It's not happy or sad, it's simply a revelation that we are together in our alone-ness. It's a beautiful thing.

BRILLIANT. I've listened to all of the Kongos albums NONstop for months now, and even learned to play a considerable amount of every part in each song just out of curiosity. I've soaked up every interview and am completely obsessed with everything these guys do. But the greatest of all of their gifts is their ability to philosophize beyond their years on this planet. These lyrics are just incredible. WELL DONE, Danny. WELL freaking DONE.

Can please someone explain what the meaning of this line is?

I am not sure if there is a hidden meaning in it, that I simply can not understand as non native speaker or it is only there to rhyme on "Milky way".
Humming Swordsman it rhymes with milky way, it fits with the space theme of the milky way line, and my interpretation is: space is often called the heavens and humans are seen as being nothing compared to he great expanse of space. To "disobey a cosmic ray" is to basically say "fuck you" to the universe which is infinitely larger and more powerful than you, but the artist wants to be free and have what he wants so it doesnt matter who or what he disobeys. thats only an explanation of that one line, I'm not sure how well my explanation may tie in with the rest of the song
