- Took the pack goats on an epic, April 4 day camping adventure! We found 3 brown elk sheds, including a matching set! 5 horns total found in a little over 20 miles. It always amazes me how amazing these goats are and how much they love it. Watch to the end and you could win a prize. Thanks for watching! I think owning goats is the missing piece in my life! I have been around them and find them amazing to be around. So easy going I have never owned a dog many a couple cats but goats or in the future. Living in idaho I have the perfect places. Thank you for sharing good luck on the up coming seasons. Thank you for sharing!
I’ve got to warn you they are a pain in the ass. They are very hard to keep contained. They’ve scratched the shit out of every one of my cars and eaten the paint off my house.
What a trip! I have 13 pack goats here in Texas and they are 3 now and ready to work hard. Makes me want to go camping soon with them

Great to get out there with you, even vicariously. Since my fall the first of June, I think my backpacking days are over. Broke my back in two places and other various injuries from a 12-ft. fall, but glad to be alive So...do these things while you can. You never know what lies in your life path that could prevent you from ever doing adventures like this one or even less adventurist ones like horizontal surfing. But with the assistance of goats, I might once again hit the trail.
The Goats are just cool Dogs with horns & hooves. Of the domesticated Ungulates, Goats and Donkeys/Mules, and Pigs are my favorites, and goats are such characters and a source of much entertainment.
It is the rare person that solo packs outback so will follow along. Stay as safe as you can.

I was doing some wiring in my dads pole barn standing on scaffolding and one foot went over the edge when I turned and I landed on my back on the concrete floor. My head partially crushed a gallon paint can and probably saved me. I could barely breath and laid there for 2-1/2-hours until dad came home and he called an ambulance.
A few days before that a friend of my son fell just a few feet off a step ladder while changing a light bulb in his garage. He died as a result. Commercial painting and roofing are some of the most hazardous trades.. Stay safe so you can produce more adventurous vids., @@jasonandzshopa

Boiling water - ouch, but glad you could do it. I found a cook pot with a bail/handle just in case there was no stove fuel and needed to do it over a fire. Dream item would be to find one that is also a percolator...the search continues, I guess...
I’m not sure what was going on with that damn filter but I cleaned it when I got home let it sit with water in it for a few hours and it finally started filtering

I've noticed when I'm out with my goats the deer follow us. Like they're trying to figure wtf is going on? It's almost made hunting way too easy 😂. Pack goats are the best.

Really enjoy your videos. Your spirit is grand my friend! I just bought a $980 external frame backpack. I've looked into pack goats a bit. How much weight can they carry long distance? I'd want to train one up slowly to get really strong. I threw 50 pounds in the external frame pack and did 1.5 miles on foot rested 2 days then another 1.7. The goal is 100 pounds 10 miles a day. If I had a pack goats he could take half that weight for me perhaps. In the future when I've got all my equipment I'm looking for someone who is down to do a 30 day survival trip. I'm gonna be packing a Diana 48 .22 pellet gun and a small fishing net and collapsible pole for game. I need to learn the edibles. I figured 50 pounds of that 100 pounds will be dried food for the first run try to hunt as much as possible small game. Then attempt a second run all foraging and hunting when confident with skill set. Posting this comment 3 xs I hope you see it. 👍 If you'd ever consider a 30 day challenge let me know old soul.
Good morning, that sounds like one hell of an adventure! Problem is you need two goats as they’re herd animals. I big strong goat can carry 50 pounds fairly easily. I usually only Cary 40-45 per goat. But hey if you got two they can carry all your weight! They don’t require much water or a lead rope, which is why I got goats. They need to be 3-4 years old before you can carry full weight. Feel free to ask any questions, I’m glad to help

Just find some big dairy goats males in your area. Get them as newborns and bottle feed them. Each goat can carry 50

Why not mules?
Why would I want mules?
Mules are expensive, cost a lot to care for, temperamental, and need a constant eye on em/lead to walk with. Plus they don't go near the rough terrain as goats. Only upsides miles have had for me was I could ride em, and they could carry more weight.
