So... can I safely assume this is something you guys would like to see more of when it releases?
Yes please.
You assume correct 😂
YUP!
Yes I've been waiting for this game for ever
Based Pravus
the details of this game are so much closer to real medieval systems than most of the other games in this genre. from things like artisan families being a staple mode of production to roads looking like they've been worn down due to foot and wagon traffic rather than mimicking the modern car-produced grass-in-the-middle style of road, this game is filled with proof that the developer has really considered the time period they're capturing. this may not be a review, but the game speaks for itself
Villagers setting up their own stalls at the market place is a lovely change.
Natural development is a complex but pleasing mechanic
Fun fact - morgen was an measurement unit describing how much field can be plough by one person during one day (from sunrise to sunset). It's as big as something between 0.5 acres and 1.5 acres, depending on the region.
Cool!
This kind of comment is what I am looking for.
............Suddenly Guten Morgen makes a lot more sense
I believe it was specifically how much could be plowed with an ox and plow in a morning's time, not a full day. A full day's worth of plowing was referred to as a Tagwerk
@@brunhin2 Medieval history is actually pretty interesting.
It is a nice variety of game to treat family as 1 unit of workforce instead of individual person.
I love the way how you can set up your housing, farms and such. Makes it look much more natural and realistic.
I love how natural the villages turn out even if you do it in almost a grid system, fantastic details on the buildings
Copium. Grids are grids, nothing natural about it
The fact this was done basically by one person is incredible.
How is that possible 😮
The fight also shows why walls are important, and why cities and villages wanted to clear out the forest close by.
I love the slick UI when setting up paths and structures. Art direction is fantastic overall!
I cant wait for the full release of the game! Like seriously this is Early access and it basically feels like the early to mid game, I feel like the corners of the map will be expanded and rather than stretches of land we might even play in full blown kingdom. Call to arms by our king, and schemes being made. Ofcourse this is all my fantasy but that is what this game is making me dream of. It has serious potential from small villages to town and finally to full blown fortress cities, ofcourse I know this game is more realistic than most but a man can dream can't he?
This is the second video I've watched on this game, and in the first five minutes I've learned this game has more options in how to go about things than the entire previous 40 minute video I watched. Thank you.
Ah yes, the bane of any production chain, your people eating your raw resources. One of my most appreciated features in Against the Storm is being able to disallow people from eating certain foods to make sure it gets turned into better advanced foods, and often getting more food out of the process.
Very much looking forward to this!
The dev took their influences from TW, Foundation, Ostriv, then took as long as they needed to execute them well without falling into the bland gridlocked anno/banished pit.
I didn't want the video to end keep rolling them out!!!! this game is amazing
So it's kinda like Lords and Villeins but more advanced. Looks pretty good!
A cool thing to have would be a space system for your house extensions. Like, you have different extensions cost different amounts of space and how much space they have is of course how much you gave them while planning out the house. It would be a good incentive to give these guys some space and it would allow you to do many fun things by playing around with this system.
For example have them have a small patch of carrots and an orchard, keep them as builders so that will be their priority, but if you aren't building anything right now and they don't have anything to do, they can keep themselves busy with that until you start building something again.
Or have one of those extensions that locks them in a profession plus some side prduction building like an orchard or a chicken pen, so that when let's say they start producing way too many shoes and you order them to stop the production, they can just focus on their side gig. Or gigs! Remember if you give them enough space you can even build a few and then the family for sure isn't gonna go to waste! This also solves the problem of the danger of making craftsman houses too big and having them house more than one family - you can just build two big extensions and have one of them make shoes and the other be a blacksmith if you give them enough space. And mabye even perhaphs still fit a few carrots in there? No way they are gonna overproduce now!
Anyway, I'm rambling. I would LOVE to play around a system like that, it sounds so cool to me! Does anyone else feel that?
This game looks super interesting! I'm excited to see you play it and learn it and see if I'd find this game fun to play or watch. Thanks for the great video Pravus!
would absolutely love to see you do more of this mate
Looks sick! Looking forward to watch the series :)
They are REALLY confident when they give Spiff a key.
Or they just know that it'll get them exposure. Even bad publicity is still publicity.
I am so excited for this game. Thanks for doing a run through of the current systems and how they work Pravus!
Love your videos. I know when you are reviewing a game I’ll get a quick yet very in depth, intelligent, and interesting look into a game before I buy! I have been waiting for manor lords and would end up playing it even if you said it was bad. However this game looks amazing and will definitely pull me away from my other rts and city builder adventures
This is such a great demonstration in a evolution in the presentation and gameplay mechanics for city builders and or even rts
45:20 I think there was an editing mistake...
Great video though, looking forward to seeing more!
Thank you for keeping it up with these videos! I discovered the 911/112 operator games through your Infection Free Zone video and I think I might be thoroughly obsessed. It's nice to come back here and get some new game recommendations every now and then. :]
Fantastic vid -- lots of information that other channels haven't had.
Thanks for the run through
This looks great! Looking forward to playing this myself.
YESSSSS!!!!! LETS GOOOOO its here finally. Please need more of this Lord Pravus!!!
The names of the regions on the map sound like somewhat reasonable German village names.
Morgen is German for morning or forenoon and has the same definition as acre. The actual size varied between 1/2 and 2 1/2 acres.
The tooltip of the trade points says WIP but maybe cheap and expensive goods are already implemented and different for each? Or you are right about the price increasing.
I looked up the developer, they're from poland, so it makes a bit of sense, that it's inspired by medieval europe
@@KiaraKitsune Cool, thank you.
Bit surprised they didn't go for Slavic names then but I'm not complaining and maybe they plan to add other options/regions later and just started with German because of a wider audience.
Edit: At least in my region quite a few names are of Slavic origin. Like the capital of Saxony Dresden.
I cannot wait to see more of this game!
I love this and need series yesterday lol
Pravis! Omg thank you so much for this video. I have looked for days on someone not just playing the game but explaining what there doing and why its needed. You are verry good at this. I love the game but I was getting so frustrated cause I didn't understand how to get different army units and their weapons. How to trade properly. This game is really good for an early release, but it is lacking on info on how, lol.
First game I've genuinely looked forward to since Skyrim
This is indeed a series I wish to see continued
Great video showing us the majority of available mechanics. Would love to see how the orchard syatem works with the housing & lot sizes since it seems fields of orchards for the farms isn't possible?
Watching the video I think the mercenaries tell you which province they’ll appear in when you hire them.
would love to see it become a series.
i've been so exited for this game, its been a year and its almost here!
This is so good, I can not wait for the full release of the game.
Been waiting for this game to release for a LONG time.
Omg it's beautiful!!!!!! It's very natural
The game looks gorgeous!
It's both great to see new video and exceptionally painful to still have 12 days left to wait.
i have 5 of these videos to watch
Grr roar! I want to play this
This game has been on my wishlist on steam for ages now lol
looks great :-)
God the music's sooooo goood!!!!
I hope they add lots of content.
Biffa and Pravus release the same early access game at the exact same time is crazy!
Looks fun and stress free compared to the competitors
That TAA ghosting, though. 👀
awesome video. i really enjoy how informative you are. Its refreshing to see someone who reframes from 'meta' gaming as there is nothing more cringe than people abusing unbalanced content and building in perfect squares for efficiency. Your town looked great! It was historically authentic whether you meant it to be or not, whilst still being practical. Id love to see a few more videos from you before early access is released to the public. i dont agree with the extra 2 weeks given to creators, but if im going to ruin the game for myself before early access id rather it be on your channel, your videos are that good. cheers
Imagine a first-person city builder with improved KCD mechanics and historicity?
There is medieval dynasty
Im oddly reminded of your old urban empire series
I can't wait
45:38 don’t know if other people have told you this yet or not or have pointed it out or anything else like that since there’s a few too many comments to see but at this timestamp the video got messed up a little bit and had an older part of the video overlap it.
awesome
Praise Pravus! The people in this game are truly lucky to have a magnanimous manor lord!
looks like an improved Banished
Just take my money, I NEED THIS
been looking forward to this game!! looks pretty good so far!!
does anyone know if multi will ever be a thing?
would love a coastal dlc in the future maybe have someviking raids
This game is looks insanely good.
lol the region in the middle is called forest fire xD
Awesome for the algorithm
Looks like Banished with advance graphics, amazing game
I hope this game will have an open ended mode where there are no victory conditions
The victory requirements are like similar to those of dune spice wars
Already want this game because similar to Banished.
more please
Hey is there a color blind color adaption to that color map by chance?
Mayenzeit one Neidt :D
The thing I wish this game had was how roads are formed by people like in Foundation
In the early stages of the games they actually tried to recreate that, but it caused to many problems and errors with patting and actual building so they scratched it and did this system. However I do agree it would been fitting
@@clewintheunissen7438 Ah, I see. Sad that the dev couldn't make it happen in the way for it to work with other systems, but it's understandable.
@@user-ne8gp2fm2d it was a massive investment that drastically reduced performance. They decided that its not worth to tank the game, especially endgame performance for it. Great decision in my opinion. Was fun but not worth it if it causes the fps to drop from 150 to 20
I hope at some point the dev makes the map about 6 or 7 times larger. Maybe more with more npc lords.
How does it run what specs have you got?
If you actually read the mercenary screen it tells you which region each company arrives in xD
Looks like the AI lord claimed territory along the south or west of you (not sure how the map is oriented). He was in the far corner to begin with if the crowns over icons is anything to go by.
omgomgomg
Looks like Ostriv, but with military elements, isn't it?
Is there map with river?
like anno on crack cant wait for the release!
Should have read when hiring mercenaries "will spawn in"
May we have 1440p videos on this changel. Please and thank you :)
My main concern is that although it all looks beautiful, will the late game be able to operate smoothly? Its fine and dandy to have really detailed graphics when you only have a handful of entities to track, but what about when the game is trying to track 8 different villages, all with hundreds of villagers? I'm extremely excited, but I could definitely see it become a problem if it wasn't accounted for like with some other city builder games I can think of.
This doesn't really have a whole lot of actual moving parts. Other city builders have things like conveyer belts and crap to keep track of (and individual herbs that need to sway in the wind). This looks more toned down, as far as the "what actually animates and is relevant".
@@dyanosis well, its not the "moving parts" aspect, although that is definitely part of it. Its polygons. and it still has to calculate productions, transportation, battles, etc. Like, high detail models usually involve a lot of polygons and that is hard for computers to process on large scales because of sheer volume. Its one of the biggest reasons why most large city builders keep low detail models.
All hail manor lord pravus
So when is part 2 coming out?
Hey, @PravusGaming, how about playing one rts game called ratopia. It is pretty good, and hard strategy game
Just looked up what a morgen is. It's about 1/2 acre
Because this was teed up nicely... "Reticulating Splines".
How is this the work of a solo developer? I can't wait for this game
If the Dev adds Politics/Government System where you can assign valiant/intellectual villager to a certain position; have a General (commander) in a unit possibly 3 Generals in one Army unit; have the main Lord takes the Lead of the battle (the Lord himself is one the General in a unit); have your Lord a Family System where you can select a villager as your wife and have kids; have an Heir System just in case your Character dies in the battle where your son or daughter or wife takes over the throne; The Character(lord) must have a title or rankings based on achievements; AND LASTLY THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT THIS GAME SHOULD HAVE IS THE ABILITY TO CHANGE ALL VILLAGERS NAME FOR BETTER IMMERSION OF THE GAME. then this will be great alternative for TW3K
How to play, it has been in early access for years but I cannot access to buy or so...?
nice grafik
Wow, this is the third survival city builder you’ve p/reviewed inside two weeks. I like them, but… not that much, I have to admit!
Edit: Okay, so it’s a Manoral arrangement. So… where is the actual Manor Lord’s holding? The taxation? The ability to force your populace into generational debt slavery? Hiring reeves to beat up workers who refuse to work? Boom days, etc?
Mount & Blade: Skylines
He said “homeless tents” 😂
YES nom nom nom i eat comments
😂😂😂watching new games every day which I will not be able to play for next 2 years lol
Can you help me import my own Symbol? I'm having the hardest time doing it.
