    This video should be on Tandem's website. I've been on TSlim for 3 months and been through 120 sets (ridiculous I know). I've been pumping for over 20 years so I'm not inexperienced but the Autosoft is so fragile and nuanced that it requires tricks to work well. After following your instructions I've had great success. Thank you so much!

      Just started Tandem, lumbee22 is right! I am not sure What they were thinking. I have been using pumps over 25 years, I am 72 with right hand numbness (Carpel tunnel) and this is NOT USER FRIENDLY at all. Considering going back to my MiniMed 630 if this HQ Technology is not life changing. I will recommend your video’s to my RN Educator😊

    Wow! So helpful! I’ve been using a pump for five months and never heard some of the tips you gave here! I can see how a couple tiny technique changes would totally improve the effectiveness of my pump! Thank you so much! Instructions were so clear as well as the visuals.

    Thank you so much for this. Today was my first time doing it on my own. I was so anxious, but your slow step by step on this video and filling the cartridge made this a lot less scary. I really appreciate you! ❤

    Thank you for the video! I've watched the one on the Tandem site multiple times and still had little success. Watched your video (pinched the set together while removing the needle guard) and made a huge difference.

    Very good tutorial. So many people have kinked cannulas with these sets. I have one comment though, and that is that the white plastic center piece is what you are supposed to use to remove the inserter piece. It’s on the Tandem video and the instructions in the sets themselves.

    Great tips on techniques that added to my confidence in doing this successfully. I have been using a Tslim for about 10 weeks, and never noticed the arrow on the infusion device. That is just one example of a very useful fine point.

      Thank you Mary! I am glad that you found this helpful. There are so many small steps, that if done incorrectly, will cause the cannula to bend or kink! Good luck with your pump.

    Good video better than the Tandem video which pipes in distracting music. This is straight to the point while the Tandem video is straight to the music. I subscribed to your channel.

    Relief. Thank you for this clear instructional. We were told to ensure at least 3 drops of insulin are coming through the exposed needle before we do the onto skin insertion part. This adds another minute to the process. Thank you.

    I completely concur with the other commenters. Your instructional style is superb. Thank you very much. I usually use the tru-steel to avoid the bent cannula concern. However, my new vendor did not send me enough of the infusion sets and i am not resorting to using some leftover xc sets. Many tx.

    Very helpful with all the details. I came from Medtronic where the site change was SO easy to the AutoSoft XC where I always think I’m going to dislodge the cannula when removing the needle as I lift off the applicator.
    My medical supplier had only 23” tubing to send, so I’m also on a very short leash now having used 43” for years. But I would not go back now that I have the t:slim and Dexcom.

    • @cubehire3653
      @cubehire3653 Před rokem

      I find the Tandem pump menus with the Dexcom sensor are superior to the Medtronic's menus and sensor. Medtronic's infusion set however is clearly superior to the Tandem infusion set.

    Nice refresher course. Been doing for 3 years, usually use trusteel, ran out so using auto soft. Having issues with auto soft as it bends and don’t insert. Thinking maybe cuz I’ve been pinching skin then popping in. Just tried like you showed, just put on and no pinch of skin. Let’s see. A bent insert is just pumping insulin nowhere.

      The Autosoft XC and Autosoft 90 insertion process are identical. The only difference if you were to look at the two is how the disconnect is at you insertion site. Let me know if you are having a hard time with anything in particular.

    I have been using this infusion set for quite some time and I also use a dexcom G6 device. With my G6 I use an overpatch which is great because I'm very athletic, however is there an overpatch that I could get for Autosoft XC infusion?

    • @takeabitediabetes7035
      @takeabitediabetes7035  Před 9 měsíci

      Yes… you can purchase an overlay cover for these types of infusion sets as well. The only thing is you cannot get them directly from Tandem. Simpatch and Skin Grips are sold on Amazon and they have a round overlay with a 0.8 in hole cut out that works for this type of infusion set.
      Skin Grip Universal Adhesive Patches CGM and Insulin Pumps (20-Pack), 0.8-Inch Hole, Waterproof & Sweatproof for 10-14 Days, Pre-Cut Adhesive Tape, Continuous Glucose Monitor Protection, Multi-Color a.co/d/53uf6Kb

    Excellent video. Thanks for this. I have been using the AutoSoft 90 for around 3 years now and the past few months have been getting bent cannula. It could be based on many different variables I imagine but partly I think I am to blame for rushing the process of insertion. You mention holding the base down when removing the needle protective cover...I think I have not done that at times and my cannula gets jammed into my skin, the cannula bends and my sugars went very high. Question for you...I am using the 6mm cannula. Would the 9mm cannula be less prone to bending in my body?

    • @takeabitediabetes7035
      @takeabitediabetes7035  Před 2 lety +1

      Great to hear this was helpful! I would not recommend the 9mm cannula. It is longer and I’d say possibly more prone to kinking. Keep practicing with the video for good technique and make sure you are not pulling up on the tubing when unraveling from the inserter OR pulling it once you cock back the infusion set inserter. Good luck.
      If this keeps happening you might want to try the Trusteel infusion set. It’s a steel cannula vs a flexible catheter and it does not bend or kink.
