Fantastic design! I love how the first floor has a bedroom and bathroom in the back where there's more privacy and quiet. A guest would feel super comfortable in their own little area. And the bedroom and bathroom upstairs are so spacious! The blue, white, and black color scheme is so peaceful and comfy
Charming layout……..I would exchange the kitchen table for an Island with storage, overhang for two comfy stools instead! Room for lots of bookcases upstairs!
And maybe some furniture to store shoes and sit on while putting them on.
Personally, I think that even larger homes neglect the entrance. It should be not just possible but also comfortable to take off your shoes, coat and hat and store them without dragging dirt all over the place...
Plus, in such a small home, I'd go for Tatami and futon so that I have some empty space during day time, e.g. for doing some fitness.

I'd just use the upstairs for a guest bedroom and,yes an island instead of table and chairs. Also add at least ten feet for mobility aids.
Or a round one with 1 - 2 inserts to make oval.

Your title is correct this is a great layout and configuration.
I'd give it a woodstove and solar ( just in case ) and an island/bar for workspace and eating.
My dream house...
I imagined myself living here alone as a single person with a little doggo... The downstairs bedroom would make a great office and/or make shift guest room. Though if I had guests, I'd probably shift the living area just a tiny bit to make way for a small desk if I'm still working... The only thing that would make this better is a tiny yard with a patio and a big pretty tree!

What a charming little home. Personally I would replace the front door with a large glass sliding door to allow more natural light. Upstairs bed aligned to face the bathroom, and a workspace next to closet with another window. If possible, I would also add a balcony upstairs, turning right after walking up the staircase.

Love the storage cubbies when you enter! I too would do some sort of island vs just a table, plus add a small dishwasher. In the downstairs BR I would turn the closet unit and build it around either side of the bed. I would maybe even make that bed a Murphy bed. I think you could get at least a full size bed in there that way rather than a twin.
A front loading W/D could be stacked in that hall near the lower bathroom rather than under the stairs making for better use of that under-stairs storage space too.
I love the freestanding tub in the upstairs bath. This should just be mirrored in lower because it is hard to tell if that is just supposed to be a wet room possibly but not my style. However, what a great size master for a tiny home! Well done! Plenty of room for more storage if you wanted to add some. I love this! I have some questions about exact dimensions but this is in my top 3 for sure!🎉

Very nice for a vacation cottage! A door to the outside in the kitchen area would help. The upstairs bedroom needs more windows, if it can be done. The clock over the bed is.....amusing. :)
Door to outside in kitchen area to get to outdoor dining when guests come great idea. I would have a bar type dining inside either as an island or u-shape kitchen.
I understand the need for storage space, but a closet doesn’t need to take most of the wall. A window would be perfect; I’d also ask for solar panels and a balcony up top. This house would be perfect for me and a couple of cats

More windows couldn't hurt. Even just a small round decorative one above the stairs or one in the front door. Otherwise cool.

Pretty nice. Needs some space for dressers in the upstairs, unless the mom and dad of this small family only have two pairs of clothes each. And the master bath looks like it's a mess waiting to happen every time you take a shower. As cool as the old school bathtub looks, you'll shower ninety-nine times out of a hundred, and spill water all over the bathroom every time you do.

This is a great design. As I get older, however, walking upstairs is becoming more tedious and tiring. With that in mind, it would take much to make the room in the bottom floor bigger in order to accommodate a couple. It is just a matter of dealing with the money and work to get it built.

Top of front porch roof needs to be lowered c. a foot to allow for longer windows upstairs for more light and possible views.
Do these have all appliances and people just furnish them or is the outside complete and you finish the interior.
I got as far as the kitchen and gave up. The kitchen is going to be hugely impracticable. If there are people at the table, best not open the oven door. There is next to no work surface. There is even less storage. A totally impractical house. Not sure where the space disappears to, as it is within a very few square feet of the house I grew up in. We had 3 bedrooms and a bath upstairs, living room, formal dining room, and eat in kitchen on the ground floor. Our house was 15 feet wide on the inside and 35 deep, again inside measures.
