We were hanging out with @FlyWithKay at OshKosh and I was telling her how we have the World's fastest Piper Cherokee PA-28 140. She said that she bets her Piper Cherokee PA-28 180 could still beat my 140, even though my 140 has a bunch of performance modifications. Today we are going to find out the throttle to takeoff time, takeoff to 3,000 ft. time, and the max cruise speed! Is it worth paying almost double for a PA-28 180 or should you modify your PA-28 140? Nice fun competition, with two great aircraft. I actually like the 140, it's just good cheap fun. However what was going on with the DG, did you guys take a detour to the Bermuda Triangle? It was spinning almost as fast as the prop 😄 . Hope you collaborate again with Kay, good video and presentation.
Must be the fastest pair of bricks with wings on them, the amount of drag on these things on a scale from 1 to 10 is number barndoor.
Any thoughts as to whether adding the main gear fairings would increase the cruise speed?
A few knots in cruise. Hassle to check tire pressure with them on. Not worth it imo.

Cherokees are awesome. My old Archer II with the wheel pants would do 132-135 Knots TAS WOT @ 8500'-9500'. Really fast for a 4 seat fixed pitch cruiser

Jason, put the lopresti or knots2U wheel pants on the main gear and it will make the 140 go 5mph faster in cruise at that 2550 power setting. I love old cherokees!

I am also conserned about the progress on the 401 progress seems to be a bit slow. I know a good number of the components has been send away but lots of other work can be done or am I wrong. I am not a expert on this

Where are used to have a 140 that was upgraded to a 160 we also had a 180 and I really did love flying to 185 little bit more like a sports car compared to the 140 a great show keep it up
That was fun to watch. Kay is a very knowable pilot and great sport. The mods sure made a difference. I need to look for your 235 vid. I want to see that baby run.

Love the channel and the work, but its been a few weeks since any work has been done on the 401 and tbh, this is what a lot of us are here for.
I think work is being done. I doubt if they only work when the camera is rolling. Maybe soon they will upload something. I just love the content. Maybe because I was here before the 401...

yeaaaaaaa cherokee 140 win!! i have a cherokee 140 GOD MODE.... 160hp wing extension, wing root fairings , wheel fairings and cruise prop... 140 mph with 1000 fpm i love the 140

The Piper PA-28-18 from Kay Hall from Cypress, TX flies really great. Yours PA-28-140 seems to be a bit smaller than Kay’s but that’s not too important because yours is flying also very well. Kay must be a great pilot because I’ve heart her name before here in the Netherlands. Thanks anyways for sharing this experience and I look forward to next vlog plus I send you love from the Netherlands
