    Any suggestions for a spotlight or does it not really matter what one I get? Also, whats the earliest youd expect squid to be showing up down at this dock on woods whole or in hyannis?

      It’s said non LED lights work the best as they look more like “moonlight” but I have used and had success with LEDs... typically squid come around late April till mid May.. but that will depend on water temp

    Silly question but, after you catch them and have your bucket full. Do you then put them in a ziplock bag and put in fridge? My guess is they just die in the bag then next morning take out of fridge and clean?

    • @catchingzzzsoutdoors1872
      @catchingzzzsoutdoors1872  Před 3 lety +1

      Typically by the time I get back home they are dead, they die very quickly usually within 5-7 minutes of catching them, yes I keep them in the fridge overnight and clean them the next day

    Nice video guys. Love the way you explained the leader and the way the squid get caught up. Sure I knew it, but for people new to squidding its very helpful!
    The ink sack can be saved and used to make black pasta or or other sauces.
    Did you ever think about saving the guts to use for chum? Great fertilizer too!
    Counting the days until the squid come in 2021!

    Does it matter if the spot light is led vs halogen?

    • @catchingzzzsoutdoors1872
      @catchingzzzsoutdoors1872  Před 4 lety +1

      Many people will say LEDs do not work as well because they don't portray the "moonlight" however I have had success with LEDs so to me both work

      @catchingzzzsoutdoors1872  Před 3 lety +1

      Generally as the striped bass migration arrives in mass, the squid get driven out and are harder to find
