"I will go door to door and name all of your babies, if you want me to." LOL
😂😂 imagine me as a name registrar! I’d love it!!!
@@SJ_Strum Absolutely!!! Perfect dream job for you.
@@SJ_Strum my mum registers babies she loves it
My favorite is Morgan. My daughter is adopted from China and when I received her picture, it did not scream one gender. I thought she looked like a Morgan. But I went with my original name choice Amanda (worthy of love), and decided to let her grow into it, which she did.
Oh how lovely!! Funny Morgan popped into your head xxz
@@SJ_Strum what a beautiful name meaning for your daughter ❤️
SJ, any plans for a song-inspired baby name list soon? I love names with this theme, like Delilah, Jude, Caroline...
Yes!! We did it on the podcast - I can’t play songs on CZcams of the podcast!!! Is it still good without music?? Xxxxx
Georgia too 💜
I was called Ruby after a song
@@SJ_Strum Of course! We can set up our own background music LOL 😂 👍😘❤️
@@janeruby1795 Love Ruby Tuesday! I am guessing that is the song you were named after!
I love how positive you are about gender neutral names and gender fluidity! I also love Gender Neutral names
SJ, have you ever done a baby name list based on the Dictionary of Medieval Names from European Sources? It’s a compilation of medieval given names from documents and literature and I sure you could find some really incredible ones in there!
Oh this would be so cool (also I need a copy of this dictionary yesterday)
Here in the states, Chris and Jordan may likely have made that list. My beautiful 16 month old grandson is Riley! My daughter recently did a search and found that Riley is now much more popular for girls than boys. This was a fun list! Thank you SJ.
It’s always my fave part of the week watching your videos - I love adding new names to my list❤️😊
Ahhh that’s so nice of you!!! Thanks for watching Izzy xxx
I’m so surprised that Charlie wasn’t on here!
Probably cause the official name would be Charles for a boy and Charlotte for a girl
I hear just Charlie a lot too not for Charlotte or Charles all the time, but maybe its more popular in the US where I am
Instagram follow up post, where we can circle if we feel it’s more of a boy or girl name for us
Oh yes we’ll do that now! I’m with my sister xxx
SJ this blue colour is so lovely on you!
Oh yes!! Didn't even know this was the list I was looking for but this is really up my street! Think it makes the names more versatile and puts less pressure on the little ones :')
I find it interesting how the name Angel is consider a like a "girls" name, in english speaking countries. I'm from Puerto Rico, and here also spelled Angel, read like ann-he-l (the same 'he' sound you make saying hello), is a common "boys" name.
Yes very interesting. I'm in Texas with a high Hispanic population I hear it alot for boys and girls!
Happy Baby Name Monday!!! Fav day of the week now HAHAHA
🤣🤣 I picked Mondays as it was a boring day for me so it’s nice to have something fun to create! Xxxx
Some of my favorite gender neutral names are: Emerson, Easton, Sage, Chase, Dakota, Journey, Scout, Wren, Francis, Bellamy, Mavis, and Florence
Love these! Thanks for sharing Lexi xxx
Florence Emerson and Sage are 100% girl names imo 🤷♀️
@@SJ_Strum thank you so much!!
@@MsBianca78 I added these to the list bc I actually know both guys and girls with these names and I think it suits all of them very well🤷🏼♀️ just depends on the person I guess
I just had my baby girl in May, we named her Emerson Rose 💜
My favorite gender-neutral name for a girl is billie because of all the actresses and characters that seem very strong I think that's a perfect name
Everyone: sees sj post
Me: *frantically puts names into my notes app*
HAHA SAME
Loved this theme - great video as always. Especially love Sydney! Would love a 'science' themed name list!
Noor has the same meaning in Arabic as well and it's gender neutral too!
Also, Zain which means beauty in general and goodness or a beautiful good guy. The more feminine form is Zaina.
And Ward (pronounced with a short vowel like Wrd) and it has two meanings, flowers or lion.
i adore the names Harley and Aubrey - i mean, imagine those as siblings!!
I wonder if Angel is because Buffy fans are having babies! Lots of great names there.
Or Latinos…. It’s fairly popular in Latin America.
I work with a female Blake and it works so well! Definitely one to keep an eye on.
I had a young girl camper named Tommy and always thought her name was stunning!
Love this! My daughters name is Noa Victoria 💜
Our little lady’s name made the list! 🙌
I love Austin for both boys and girls! It’s 100% my baby name crush at the moment 💕
My parents stumbled upon gender neutral names when my legs were crossed in the ultrasound! They picked Ryan to have a name for either boy or girl and when I was a girl they spelled Rhyan:) I love gender neutral names, and surprisingly Rhyan as a girls name has never been something weird for me growing up as most people really like it!
Happy Baby Name Monday, SJ! I love your gender-neutral name lists, they helped me name my plants!
I love to name my plants!
Happily here for Sim names 😄 I've ended up telling my boyfriend a few I'm hanging on to for non-sims though lol
Aubrey is Drake’s real name! You should do a video on celebrities birth vs chosen names! Some of the name changes are shocking haha.
That is a really interesting video idea!
My personal favorite gender neutral name is Ellis 💖
I really thought Wren would be higher up, it's such a cute name! I really love Eden as well, but would probably use it for a girl.
Yes, absolutely not a male name
Our newest little week old is a Blake Riley (girl) and our oldest is a Harper, we only consider gender neutral names! Wren is one of my top name but the partner wasn't having it 💛
My little sister is called Sydney, she is named after my grandad! I love it
Happy Baby Name Monday!🤍
A name similar to Casey that I feel is gender neutral is Cassidy I adore this name it’s actually my fathers.
I LOVE Riley!! Such a gorgeous name, that’s the sort of name I’d choose for myself! Or Remy 😍😍
Oooh yay, love my name is finally being seen as more gender neutral and not just a boys name! Interested to see how popular it gets!
My dog is called Bailey after the drink because she’s the same color as it! It’s such a common dog name but we have a real meaning behind it!
I love the name Robin and I always have! I considered changing my name to robin for a while but unfortunately my last name is Williams and so that would not really work 😂
I love the nane Whitney but our surname is Houston 🙄😂
I wanted to change my name to Robin when I was a kid. My mom refused to listen to me. Our last name was Hood. Lol :)
Aww love this list! Always loved gender neutral names so when I had my little boy we named him Remy Cove so naturally Remy is my favourite 🥰😍 it suits him perfectly 🤍 xx
Great choice!
Remy Cove is a lovely name! Well done.
yay! happy baby name monday xx
Happy baby name Monday Ellen xxxx
I love love love this list!
Love boy for girl names! Blake Lively named her first Jaymes and I'm a little in love
Yes it’s stunning!!! I really like it xxx
I love gender neutral names! My youngest is Sawyer Beth
I went to school with a boy whose brother was called Amari! His brother's name was Rhys if I'm remembering correctly.
My favorites are Parker, Reese, Blake, and Drew for a girl! Do you have anymore suggestions along this line?? Btw I love your videos!
¡ I love Frankie, sounds so cute !
Amari, Noor, Robin, Eden, and Casey are my favorites. Thank you for this list, it is super. Frankie can be short for Francoise in French-speaking places. I LOVE Noor but spelled Nur.
Woo! Never seen my name on your lists before:) it's a good name lol. Place, nature, gender neutral name.
I have 4 boys Bailey, Morgan and Frankie and the oldest is Xavier so 3 out of 4 isn't bad 😀
Your boys are beautifully named. I especially love Morgan and Bailey!
@@oddmnemosyne2869 agree
Here in the stare of Indiana, we pronounce Milan as My-lun. My brother-in-law is named Robin and he is about 55. I’m pretty sure that it became popular from the Batman TV show in the late 60s and 70s. It is cool how names make their rounds!!! 😃
I knew 3 sisters who all had had gender neutral names picked out on purpose: Jordan, Alex and Corey. I had never thought of corey for a girl before but it really suited her. My two kids both have gender neutral names, but actually by accident! Frances and Laurie
Ooo I love your children's names! I'm really keen on Laurie if we have a boy next :) Think its gorgeous and I'm a big Little Women fan! x
@@eiracapelan8808 ah thank you! Yes I love Laurie it's so classic and literary but feels cute and modern too. My daughter is known as Francie which I preferred to Frankie, it also feels more unusual and really suits her cheeky nature.
@@eiracapelan8808 my exact thought. Love Laurie and my sister went to school with a male Lauren.
Avery is my 90 year old Nanna’s name 😍😍😍
How amazing 😍 seens to be trending again. 😍
My favourite gender neutral name is Blair. I also think Cameron is lovely and so wearable for a girl following Cameron Diaz
I've always loved Bailey for a girl! Probably because I met a Bailey who was really lovely. Love that it's both a bit edgy but also soft and sweet in my opinion
My favourite name types are nature and angel names (people always joke I should love the name Metatron then lmao) but I mean like Micheal, Raphael, Sabriel, Saraphiel, etc.
I adore River and Seraphina
I know a little girl named Carson and it suits her so well 💕
I had a baby boy in December and named him Carson. It really works well for both genders
I do too
In my family, all the girls happen to have gender neutral names (total coincidence). My Grandma is Kris, my aunts are Jo and Nick, my cousin is Robyn, my mum is Phil and I’m Charlie. When I have children if ones a girl I’m definitely continuing this tradition!
You should do a video about names inspired by birds, if you don’t have it already ☺️ I have a baby boy named Finch, and I’d love to see a long list of names x
yes there is already one on her channel! from a year or so ago 💕 love the name Finch 🥰
Yes I did one a while ago but will do a new one. Love finch!!!
@@SJ_Strum yes would love another one. I love Bird names. Some lesser known are Merle and Lonan (both mean blackbird) :) Drake is cool too!
Thank you, it suits him well although sometimes I screams like an eagle 🦅🤣 Can’t believe I missed the bird name video, I’ll catch up. Would love a part 2 then 😍
I'm quite surprised that Mackenzie isn't on this list! Maybe it's further down in the top 50, I'll have to go take a look. My favorite out of these is Avery!
I have so many female students named Avery. Not sure I like it for a boy though.
I was actually just think I'm surprised Madison or Addison wasnt on the list but maybe it isnt as popular for both
Wow there are a lot of my faves on here! We have Wren (girl) and Quinn (boy, middle name), was going to be my little girl's first originally.
We also considered Blake (girl) and Eden (girl), and Robin (boy).
I love Rowan for girl but we have Lowen with the "en" (boy). With the "en" it's a lion and with the "an" it is an Australian bird.
Beau is one of our Angel babies.
I also love Reign, River, Avery, Aubrey, Noa, Noor, Sydney and Phoenix :) Also Indigo!
Lowen is also Cornish for joy 🙂
Yes Indigo
@@wildnfearless9840 knew I had heard it somewhere
Surprised James and Elliott aren’t on here 💕
SJ, any plans for baby names that are 5 letters?! 5 letter boy names are hard! My son (Kyler), husband (Chase) and I (Grace) are all have 5 letters and we are itching for a baby #2 with 5 letters! It was a coincidence and now we want to stick to it haha
Danai 😁
Fab list. I really thought elliot or wyatt would be in the top 2 and they didn't appear.... So interesting. 💕
Yes Wyatt is big for girls now that Ashton and Mila named their daughter that.
I think Shay is a gorgeous gender neutral name. Indiana has been a favourite of mine for a boy for a while too!
Oooh adding Avery to my ever growing list!!
It’s lush isn’t it!!! Maybe a nickname option for the girls?
What would the longer name be if this is the nickname? Love it!
I’ve always loved the name Hilary.
Hey my dog is called Aubrey and I'm pregnant and I'm using the name Forest thanks to you
My name is Sydney and my older sister is a Morgan and i find it funny that my mom gave both her girls gender neutral names and they’re both on this list
I wonder if the popularity of Georgie was at all influenced by the recent film It, from the Stephen King novel? Georgie is such a cutie pie little boy, the little brother of a main character, but has a sad story :( I first read the book 30 years ago when I was in junior high school, and I actually love the name because of him!
Oooh maybe!! I’ve never seen or read it but recognise it from the novel now you say it!
And also one of the main character's in Mae Martin's Feel Good show on Netflix, her name is Georgie.
My favorites are Wren, Quinn, Rowan, Riley, and River. I'm currently 13 1/2 weeks pregnant & recently found out were having a boy. We've decided to name him River Solomon 💙💙💙
that is a great name!
@@mariebrown4966 thank you so much +
just me as a 21 watching her congratulate me on my nonexistent pregnancy. anyone else here because they just love names and want ideas for future babies?
Names from this video that are on my future baby list already lol: Harlow (girl) , Rowan (girl) , River (boy) , and Wren (girl).
Khai, Ryan, Lennox, Azariah, Teagan, Charlie, Adrien, Hayden are my fav. neutral names😊
Morgan is one of my favorite names. I love it more for a girl as I think its just a bit more different and edgy for a girl. Actually love this list. Sydney is another favorite. I think Place names can honestly work for either a boy or a girl. I have a Boston and I know its been sued as a girl name before same with Brooklyn, Sydney, Milan, Rome etc. Love Avery, Taylor, Casey and Remy. Actually I love most the names of this list haha
I love Owen, Drew, Finley, and Jo 😍
Finley is a great gender-neutral name, I feel. I had never considered Owen to be gender-neutral but my friend has a little girl named Wyatt.
First time my name has ever been on a list!!
We are calling our baby Vaeda. If they are boy or girl. It originally was a boys name but now more associated with girls. I love it for both ❤️ our favourite name
I’m surprised the Brits haven’t got on board with the Charlie for a girl trend that is booming in the states.
I’m in the UK and know loads of girls named Charlie, however they’re all around 10 now so maybe there’ll be a reboom in the UK for newborns somewhen if it’s trending in the States!
Someone else mentioned it and I thought the same thing. Pretty popular in the US
Do u know where you can get a baby name journal and What is it xxx
My name is also unquie and can be for both Joelle
Good thanks
Love the gender neutral names I had so many of these oh my list but only for a boy or a girl, never for both
I'm the same way. I tend to like heavily gendered names even though unisex is popular and my own name is unisex
My favs on this list are reign, Casey, Taylor, Morgan, wren, beau, Eden, Blake, Rowan, Riley, Frankie
If I was rating the ones I like on this list 10, Blake 9, Frankie 8, Eden 7, rowan 6, Taylor 5, Morgan 4, Riley 3, wren 2, Casey 1, beau
My fav gender neutral names are Hollis, lux, Lennox, Parker, lark, Lennon, Carter, Mackenzie, reese, Clark/e, Elliott
My all time 5 fav gender neutral are and in my top 20 names is 1. Hollis, 2. Beau, 3. Lark, 4. Mackenzie 5, Parker/Carter
I like Carter for a boy and Eden is 100% feminine imo
my favourite gender neutral names are fable, noble, iver and brave
my granddaughter's middle name is Morgan, after her mother's surname. My son and his wife chose to be surprised by baby's sex upon delivery, but had chosen the neutral middle name ahead.
My daughter is pregnant and she likes Harlow Aurora. What do you think?
I like Ryker Phoenix for a boy.
Do you have an idea of what to name a sister to my daughter Mila? I love i names and m’s!
I love the name Ivy! Maybe also Indie, Maya, Macey
Surprised how many I like! Amari, Avery, Harlow (mum's maiden name is Barlow), Wren, River, Blake, I like 😁 all gender neutral but think still prefer for one particular gender. Like idea of boys name for a girl but also feel I love too many feminine names 🤔 love lots of these for rabbits as well as baby list
I love gender neutral names. love the name Shay. I also love Grayson but it’s too popular for my liking. I recently saw Gracyn for a girl and thought that was cute.
I think most of the names on my baby name list are gender neutral. I’m already pretty sure of first names for my first boy & girl, but may use of the gender neutral names on my list for my first girl’s middle name. My first boy’s middle name will depend on my future husband’s first name, as it’s a tradition on my dad’s side to give the father’s first name as a middle name to the first son in the family.
I love gender neutral names! I really want to name a daughter Darcy because it's just such a wonderful name. But I also love Remy, Sutton, Emery, Oakley, Sawyer, and Sloane. Not all works that well in Sweden (where I live) but I'm sure that if I have a girl it will be Darcy, Frankie, or Sloane. Love those names. Love Frankie for a boy too,
Sloane would be such a cool middle name for Darcy! Darcy Sloane! Love it 🤞you get to use it somewhen
@@emilyxx6689 ooohh that’s a fantastic idea!
I know a baby girl Darcy and Emery and babysit a baby girl Sutton
can you pleaaaaase do a video of baby names based off of tv show characters and like movies and stuff that would be awesome
Any ideas to go with our girl who is named Charleigh? Planning for a second baby. Need both an option for a girl and a boy.
Jaime is also a cute gender neutral name!
I can’t see Georgie on a grown man
My whole life I’ve been expecting my name Stevie to have a surge in popularity, with the move towards gender neutrality but it just never seems to happen!
My names I would add for this list are:
Teddy
Lennon
Kennedy
Shay/shae
Ace
Wren
Devon
Fox
Harrison
Spencer
Navy
James
Layton
Blue
Cameron
Camden
Bowie
Phoenix
Eli
Bellamy
Rey
Grey
Ash/Asher
Shiloh
Vann
Winter

Addley
Levi
Cohen
Knox
Maddox
Aspen
Forrest
Serren
Haven
Kinley
Asa
Wilder
Beckett/Beck
Zenn
Indie
Blythe
Farryn
Cyrus
Corbyn
Yeah nice list. James seems to be a pretty popular middle name for little girls around here, but I never met a girl with the first name James yet!
It’s always been on my list for the neutral aspect and the rock and roll heritage ... With Billie, Frankie etc coming up I think Stevie has to be next. Have you liked your name growing up and stuff?
@@aliceprobably yes I have long loved my name which is Marie. I am named after my grandmother who died in 1958. I do love gender neutral names though, especially *Nur* and *Leith*
@@aliceprobably I absolutely loved my name, I would use it for my children if it wasn't my name already! People love to make connections to Stevie Nicks and I love that!
I'm surprised Jackie didn't make the list😁
My daughter’s name is Harley and I’m obsessed with it. I also love the name Quinn but I feel like I can’t use it now for my next baby because of the character Harley Quinn😩
You could go with Queenie or Quill.
@@mariebrown4966 that’s a great idea! Thank you!
😆 we have a Morgan Charlie and Robyn all girls x
So I know you've done your fair share of botanical and nature lists, but something I would love to see very specifically is floral names for boys. Not just general nature or plant names but flowers or names with floral meanings specifically.
And in the spirit of your, "not the top 10 middles names" I would love to see some other lists built around choosing a middle name. Like a, "middle names that sound perfect with any first" with names that seem to balance or fit a wide variety of styles. I often see people get caught up on middle names because they get very concerned with the cadence or flow of the name combination, or because they're struggling to feel like the name combination feels balanced.
It's so funny but I love more typically feminine coded names for girls but love softer gender neutral names for boys. Most of the names on this list that I really like, Sidney/Sydney, Angel, Morgan, Remy, Aubrey, Bailey, Robin, and Rowan I would only use for a boy. Most of my favorites in general like Bellamy, Vivien, Ariel, Whitney, Schuyler, Elliott, and Lark are squarely in the boy camp for me.
The exceptions here being Noa, Noor, Wren, Georgie, River, Eden, and Frankie. Frankie, Georgie, River, and Eden feel like I would use them for any gender, and Wren, Noor, and Noa I prefer for girls.
I believe she has a floral for boys name list already
@@dmallow22 oh I'll have to look again and find it! I know she's done some soft nature name lists before, I just hadn't seen one that was florals specifically.
I know 2 Frankies but both are monikers of their registered names (Francesca ♀ and Francis ♂) The Milan I know is pronounced Me-la (n) with just a hint of the n at the end.He is French.
