Reporter: "Was exploring the source material a waste of time?" They can't even hide how full of themselves they are lmao
That was actually really weird to hear.
"What did you think about of exploring the source material?" It's so easy to ask a question without being disrespectful
@@jackkraken3888 Agreed, such a weird thing to say lol.
That was an offensively bad question
@@E-A-Z-Y fr
What's with the "Was it a waste of time?", what sort of question was that? Why do these journalists hate gaming so much man. What did we do to you?
There's always those types out there that gaming is a waste of time but spend as much hours or more watching reality TV garbage or pointless cringe tiktoks😂
A lot of gaming journalists absolutely hate video games, the industry and gamers.
Which makes you wonder why they chose that job.

@@Plight_ makes sense, it would make a big headline like the snow white one, bc the question was very random and not necessary
It's a good question.
The only thing under Master Chief's helmet, should be another full sized helmet.
Exactly as it is if you noclip into the fighter at the end of CE. Amen.
Exactly
I like the Halo reference. I was irritated by the people who made the Halo TV show, because they insisted they hadn't played the games. And yet, everything in the TV show looks exactly like the games. Almost as if they had used the games to design the suit, the weapons, the enemies etc.
The only reason they claimed not to have played the games, is so they could use it as an excuse to justify why the TV show is so shitty compared to the games. Plausible deniability.
😂😂😂😂😂
I don't understand why people care about the helmet thing. Is there a logical in lore reason why he wouldn't take off his helmet? I haven't played the games since halo 3, so maybe there is a reason? Does he shower with his helmet on, eat food with his helmet on? Like Mandalorian had a reason why they wouldn't take off his helmet other than in significant moments and it made it special. Don't get me wrong, care about what you care about, your taste is your taste, I just don't think it makes any sense why he wouldn't take his helmet off.
I like this lady. She seems quite genuine and just a decent and fun human overall
She's a really incredible actress, her voice work as Jinx on Arcane is very strong, and I loved her on Yellowjackets as well

The second the "master chief" actor showed his face he was no longer Master Chief.

I guess you could say it was the series'... chief mistake.
...I'll leave now. ;)
season 2 was even worse, took them till the last episode to get him back in his suit
What if they had sprinkled in some in-helmet shots a la Ironman ? Or give the character control over how transparent the visor is for certain narrative moments ?
its literally the thumbnail of the show, showing his face, i had a good scoff to myself when i saw that. you can tell they read like one page of source material and went yep, thats good enough lets roll

The guy who played Master Chief in the tv series and claimed you can't act with your helmet on clearly haven't seen V for Vendetta or Dredd.

That's such a weird argument btw, i feel like it should be easier to act with a helmet on...
Those are actual good movies from sane times!

DARTH FUCKIN VADER?
I see your point and the points of everyone who commented. I would argue that V wasn't the main character and in Dredd you know that's Karl Urban. Master Chief is always under his helmet. You might as well hire a no name who just has the physical size and a voice actor who will be okay never really being in the limelight.
Master Chief should've had another helmet on underneath.
Now I need someone to edit the video like this lol
Just like double sunglasses Ken in Barbie the movie. 😂

its not lmao the show is garbage. theres no way they actually played the game. they said that shady sands got nuked 4 years before NV and vaulttec dropped the first nuke lmao. anyone who says they did a good job is mega coping.
No, absolutely not. Cavill could write the shows because he's so knowledgeable on the games. While it's nice that she has at least played the games, she's still not a gamer. For all we know, they were all forced to play the games.
She's also Jinx from Arcane, I already loved her for years and now I love her even more. Great actress.
Pretty awesome that she's in both one of the best animated video game adaptations & one of the best live action game adaptations.
Omg I love her even more now...
She absolutely slayed Jinx in Arcane! Vocal perfection that brought me to tears more than once. hope she's back for a second season!
To be honest i don't hate the actress. What annoy me is the writing, cgi and lore retconning coming from ignorant producers, writers and Bethesda execs who provide them with their shitty low quality lore that would fit another shitty Fallout 76 game and not a high quality tv series experience.
That's amazing
Okay now I might check the show out, she's very respectful

I love how serious her face got when the jag-off reporter goes "So was that a WASTE of time or what?" referring to doing research and playing the game. She talks more about her playing the game during her Google search interview with Goggins and Maximus's actor. Now if he had asked if it was a waste-land...
she definitely knows whats really going on with gamergate 2 and she knows that the fans are whats important, shes a gamer for sure :)
It's so funny to me how the producers, writers and everyone around that feel like it's a waste of time to play, watch or read the source material.

Journalist really can't hide anymore...
Yeah it’s always double sided questions now. Nothings ever direct and exactly as described. They especially want the interviewee to screw up the wording of their answer so they have a nice clickbait title that supports whatever agenda they want. It was especially noticeable when they interviewed the show runner and he said trying to make everyone happy is waste of time and they completely butchered what he meant by it so the easily manipulated interpreted his response as a stab at the core fanbase when what he really meant was that he wasn’t going to appeal to the joy-haters that live to find everything wrong with anything Fallout post New Vegas. The ones that hoped the show failed for no reason.

I think the nice thing about this series is that they weren't trying to write over any game story or concept or plots of he games, but just create a story that included the game ideas. While the issue with Halo is that they basically created a story using all the same concepts, but wrote over the entire story and plot. This is how it should be. When an actor or writer or whoever takes on a movie or tv show about a book, specific period or historical figure they don't say "Oh I didn't want to learn anything about the time, place or person because I wanted to make it my own". They do the research, and respect the source material. It should be like this for games too, the reason it often isn't is because there is still a stigma around games and they don't take it seriously. In other words, if you can take it seriously enough to take a pay check for it then take it seriously enough to show some respect for the role you have been given.
I don't think it has to do with just gaming. Far too many actors/actresses don't do their homework, aka. study whatever source material it is, in order to give us the best performance they can do. They want to do it their way. Well, maybe they just hate homework too. 😛
Well from people that know fallout lore the TV show is trash and crapped all over the lore... so maybe she didn't do such a good job...
@@thomgizziz Yeah but that's on the writers/showrunner. Not the actors.
I love how innocent and out of touch her character is, it's very similar to the Chosen One in Fallout 2
She could've just played Fallout 4 or 76, but I like to think that she also played the older games given her portrayal of the character
She almost certainly didn't play the first 2, maybe 3, and new vegas, but probably just 4. Which is fine.
considering that show is based on "bethesda fallout" I would think she only play relevant bethesda games
@@Veritaserum90 considering that nearly everything in the whole show is west coast stuff from before bethesda was around, I would think she'd play all of them
@@niox1920 Wouldn't mean much cuz Bethesda butchered the west coast. The series has a lot of merits but fuck I hate what they did with the environment, and especially with what they did to Shady Sands and the NCR
@@alloutpotato7939 Did you watch the show?
Loved her as Jinx and she was adorable as Lucy in Fallout. Both shows had respect for the source material and the fans and both shows are really good. Go figure, huh?
I expect nothing less from a voice actor that bring jinx to life in arcane.
If Guardians of the Galaxy proved one thing it's that if the source material is good enough to get an audience in the first place its good enough for the general audience. Yes James Gunn took some liberties with the source material but at know point did it feel like he ignore it
As an avid fan of the GOTG comics, I can tell you that he did more than ‘take creative liberties’ with those characters. Not even Quill is super accurate, his humor is never that proactive in the comics.

Are you sure you know what you are talking about? You sound like the people that said that star trek picard and discovery were great and that you were a huge star trek fan and you don't know much of anything about older trek...
@@thomgizziz It only contradicts New Vegas in very small ways, that's it. Everything else is perfectly lore friendly. Once again, the internet making something out of nothing. The show is solid.
Im so happy this show turned out great. Really gives you hope fir the future of game adaptions
They did a fantastic job. The scene when she gets the stimpack, heals up, goes to the armory and grabs the dart gun, it felt like the start of a new game or a dlc like dead money from NV. They stayed true to the spirit of the games, retconned less of the lore than Fallout 4 or 76 did, and told a great fallout story. Not to mention the fantastic set/costume/prop design. And the soundtracks! This was exactly what the IP needed and what Fallout fans have wanted for years. I really hope the success of this show pushes Bethesda to finally give us a Fallout 5, maybe even set on the west coast or New Vegas. The fact that the show honors the lore so well is bound to shape the next Fallout game for the better, and Im really excited to see where it goes.
She instantly became even more likeable lol
The Fallout TV show is so goddamn good!
Ella has been incredible as the Vault Dweller and her charm is so unique that she steals the screen each scene she’s on just like the Ghoul as well.
It’s in my honest opinion one of the best live action adaptations ever and the passion towards the games shines from it all while being a show that someone with zero knowledge of Fallout universe can enjoy.
This show is something that adaptations should aim to be and Purnell is a perfect example of an actress that wants to bring joy to the fans unlike Halo, Rings of power and so many other adaptations.
I fucking love Ella ❤
Her personality is infectious
Nah. They should definitely not aim to be like this "Fallout" show. They need to do better.
@@Penasta Can you elaborate? I mean, you’re completely entitled to have your opinion and if it’s completely opposite of mine as Fallout fan, I’d like to hear where they’ve gone so wrong that they need to do better in your opinion.
@@Joni_Tarvainen My only major gripe so far is the overall "mood" of the wasteland. I was hoping for more FO3 or NV vibes but im getting more so FO4.I think the Last of Us on HBO did a much better job creating a post-apocalyptic world that felt dangerous as well as bleak. Fallout is much more whimsical and less dark but maybe that was intentional. Still a good show, i can tell they care alot about the source material and wanna do it right.
Every Maximus scene is God awful though
I fucking love her
I loved her as Jinx. Incredible
You can just feel the reporter's smug smile slide off his face when she said "it wasn't a waste"
I am so glad that she enjoyed this experience. as someone who is in love with Fallout, it is my favorite franchise , I watched the TV show so happy to see everything and to think she enjoyed it the most like I would have makes me like the tv show and her even more.
Doesn't really matter what an actor thinks of the IP, the show writers can still mess it up.
Just watched the whole season and I can say I wasn’t disappointed
not just the actors but the writers seemed to have done their research and respected what fallout is in its essence.
I always viewed Master Chief as more a person-shaped hole in the universe occupied by the Player, rather than a character.
good for her, too bad the writers don't
Therapist: Female Henry Cavill isn't real, she can't win you over
Female Henry Cavill:
Not sure if i can trust the writers in the modern era, but Ella engaging in the source material so enthusiastically is refreshing
THIS is the type of person i always hope gets the role when classics are turned into movies! 👏👏👏
I watched the first episode yesterday. Impressive show tbh. I like her character. I should say I'm a rare Fallout fan as I enjoy all the games and now this show.
"Was it a waste of time to understand the source material?"
Moduhn yournalisms.
Never played Fallout.. love the show and love her. She is awesome.
never heard someone so blatantly straightforward like that reporter
