We’re continuing our discussion of Dave Hunt’s book Occult Invasion: The Subtle Seduction of the World and the Church. Now, Dave, for the last couple of weeks we’ve been underscoring the fact that the theory of evolution is not unique to Darwin or modern science, but its origins are religious and is, in fact, found in the lie Satan offered to Eve in the Garden of Eden, and is foundational to all false religions, especially Eastern religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism.
Then we covered theistic evolution, which we find among many professing Christians as an attempt to reconcile evolution and the Bible. Before we address the basic problems with evolution, let’s remind our audience why it cannot be compatible with what the Bible teaches.

I’m believe in Jesus Christ and I tried dowsing to prove a point to my boss. We both walked over a buried pipe that we buried. The rods crossed every time my boss stepped over the pipe. 5 times in a row they crossed. I used them as he placed them in my hands to assure I was holding them correctly. I walked over the same pipe 5 times and the rods never crossed. 😇

    Obadiah 1:4
Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.
    Matthew 11:23
And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
    Luke 18:14
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
    Romans 5:1
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
    James 2:24
Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

I don't know about finding oil and other things, but we used 2 brass rods to find water lines in our town until we bought an electronic line locater. When we went to class to learn how to use it we were told that the companies that make these actually test them against using rods. The is a magnetic reaction that works with the brass rods that make them cross when water lines are walked over. It's not magic at all. It's a natural reaction. IT IS Based in science, it is not some demonic or spiritual power caused the rods to move. If that is a sin, so is using the electronic locater.

There are many "dowsers" who would very much disagree with you. If it's "science," it works very often in a most unscientific manner. Dave Hunt wrote, "More than 500,000 water wells have been located in the United States by this method, which is used around the world. It is accepted to such an extent that there was even a favorable article on dowsing in the Smithsonian journal of January 1996, a leading scientific magazine. No “force field” nor any form of “magnetic energy” can be responsible because information is being communicated. Dowsers can use any material (wood, plastic, string, metal, etc.) to find anything (oil, gold, ancient civilizations, water, electrical wires, hidden treasure, etc.). For some dowsers the dowsing instrument will bob up and down to indicate how deep one must drill, and in the case of water or oil, for example, to tell how many gallons per minute the well will produce.
"An editorial in Gold Prospector magazine stated, “Dowsing is the easy way to get answers to your questions. You ask nature a question to which she (through your instruments) will answer with a “yes” or a “no”....For instance [in the case of gold]...the grade of the deposit; ounces per ton; width of deposit...total amount of ore in tons.” This is divination. There must be an intelligent source of such information, and it isn’t God, for He cannot be contacted by this means and forbids its use. Satan, however, will respond and provide the desired information to draw men into his net.
"As further proof that no scientifically explicable “force” is involved, dowsing is even done over maps. Bermuda was supposedly without ground water and for more than 300 years water had been caught when it rained or brought in by ships. But on October 22, 1949, sitting in Kennebunkport, Maine, Henry Gross located three well sites by dowsing over a map of Bermuda and described accurately the depth to drill, the quality of water, and the quantity per minute which each well would produce. The information supplied by Gross proved to be accurate. The wells were drilled and still provide Bermuda’s water to this day. Visitors to Kennebunk- port may observe the plaque placed there in remembrance of Gross’s feat."

@@TheBereanCall I love your ministry and have for years, I am not talking about all that. I am saying using brass rods to find water lines is a scientifically proven action.

@@bigjohnflJust because it may work doesn't mean it is right, nor is it necessary scientific. It can work because it is demonic. We are additionally to avoid the very appearance of evil.

I couldn’t find where the pipe turned down coming out of mom’s well house in the 80s. Well, I was also young and tired of digging 3 foot deep holes. No idea what I was doing. Mom called a local Pastor……..notice I said pastor, and I witnessed him dousing the exact spot. I don’t know how to feel about that to this day. But I did know the man, he was above reproach, pastor of the same Tennessee Baptist church for 50 plus years, and wore out the church bought cars every 3 years visiting the sick, a very good example for younger Christian men. He was my uncle. So like I said, I didn’t and still don’t know what to do with what I witnessed that day. He used wire. But he said willow limbs work well too. Don’t know.
But every thing else I’m pretty convinced we.should stay away from.

It is often said that we all have our blind spots. What this man managed to avoid could very well be a stumbling block for another.
