- In an era where the future of warfare is being redefined by cutting-edge technology and automation, Australia is stepping up its game with the Boxer, a multirole armoured fighting vehicle that is a marvel of modern military engineering. Gone are the days of the ASLAV's 'Light' designation; the Boxer is a heavyweight, tipping the scales at an astonishing 36,500 to 38,500 kg in combat configuration.
Engineered for raw, unbridled power, the Boxer is propelled by an MTU 8V199 TE20 Diesel engine, capable of generating up to 805 horsepower. This beast of a vehicle can reach a top speed of 103 km/h, making it one of the fastest Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs) in the world. With an operational range of 1,100 km, it's not just fast-it's relentless.
Whether it's reconnaissance, command and control, or joint fires, the Boxer is equipped to dominate the battlefield with its array of armaments, which can range from a 7.62 mm light machine gun to a 30 mm automatic cannon.
The Boxer is not just an upgrade; it's an evolution in modern warfare so powerful that a most unexpected European company just placed a multibillion dollar order in preparation for a potential new land war… - Věda a technologie
The overlaid music is very distracting and makes understanding the voice difficult...
Boxer is set to become the new British Mechanised Infantry Vehicle (MIV)
In November 2019 523 Boxer vehicles were ordered in four build configurations, covering eleven different roles. Following the Integrated Review, a further 100 of these vehicles have subsequently been approved and contracted for TBD.
The first vehicles are scheduled to be ready for service later in 2023.
Boxer will primarily be delivered to battalions within the Armoured Brigade Combat Teams.
It will also be delivered to:
Close Support Artillery
Close Support Engineers
Armoured Signals
Electronic Warfare (including Cyber)
Short Range Air Defence
Mini Uncrewed Aerial Systems
Close Support REME
Medical, Surveillance and Target Acquisition (STA)
What do you mean set to be? it is inservice with the Household cavalry!!
@@thetruthhurts7675 I guess the Army need to update their own website. Tried posting the link but looks like comments get deleted with links.
The army also said in July this year that they were beginning trials of the Boxer. Is the HC doing the trials?
@@BrianKnox-dd2pi I got my information a couple of days ago from Forces News here on CZcams, they were interviewing the first Troops to get them on Salisbury plain.
ever notice how many things on "Dark Tech" are a "force to be reckoned with"?
But can they defeat the Emu Empire with this machine?
I don’t know. The Emu empire is pretty tough.
@@ac1888 Undefeated and uncaring!
Hahaha we just didn't have the logistics to beat the emu's from what I understand.
Stupid people ONLY say stupid things.
We have a long standing acceptable ceasefire with the emu empire…
$50k drone? Hell a $300. Drone carrying a grande that it can drop onto the Boxer's roof... X-NAY the boxer-ay
Starbucks grande???😂
So would you rather be in one of these or standing in an open field? Have you served?
When something DARK is presented ob CZcams, your Day is Saved 👍
Wheeled, enough said, and at 20% better, tracked is the winner. Anyone says different is dreaming.
Not so sure. Tracked vehicle goes dead when it even hears about mines.. this could probably pull back for repairs after touching one, without slowing pace. Time will tell. But imagine one with steel spring wheels instead of air pressure tires. Even leave the steel cleats and cams bare with not rubber even covering. Quite a dream you got there buddy..
Nice, but as others have mentioned in other ways, the BG music needs to be lower.
Awesome smart thinking about the quick change abilities
$1B for 100 units?? So $10M a piece??? That seems pretty pricey for a wheeled combat vehicle
Not really
That probably includes training of the crew. Logistics transportation of the Vehicle extra parts and training of the maintenance crew it's not just the vehicle and I'm sure those numbers are not accurate there is a of other stuff that goes along with buying a new platform like this
For the drone, just add exploding armor to top and whever it can be hit hard.
i could be wrong, but im pretty sure that back in july 2023 it was announced that the land 400 contract had gone to the redback and not the boxer
Saw a couple of these a few weeks ago on the tank tracks near Salisbury
I was on the M1A1 Abrams. Still dominants the battlefield no matter what. Wanna Play?
Reading straight from the Rhein Metal's press releases.
From the country that brought us the Holden.
If only this thing had been available during the Emu War . . .
I don't get why we haven't seen any lav in different variants set to Ukraine there's so many that could be used over there especially the ifv version of it they should definitely send a bunch that's basically a wheeled Bradley with a little less armor and terrain capability but it's well worth it they can use it proficiently there like they use the BTR4
Some say: "There are only two 8x8 APC/IFVs worth considering - KMW/Rheinmetall Boxer and AMV Patria."
I do not agree. These are two very different vehicles. AMV is light 8x8 able to swim and be fixed in a truck service. The Boxer is one of the heaviest 8x8. It uses a more potent engine. Over 200HP more than AMV's Scania engine. It is also bigger and costs much more.
There are many new Vehicles similar to this there's the Puma and Ajax ,cv90 there's tons of new vehicles coming out and pretty much all are similar and capabilities
What about the Tracked Boxer? There are more of those in planning, and building than wheeled.
1100km range?!?! WOOOAH
Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi bring it on
What is the tracked vehicle in this film?
Germans are famous for their inflexiblitiy. But when it comes to engineering, never understimate the flexibility. I my mind the boxer is one of the most impressive invetions for modern warfare.
Do you know why most armies are going to wheeled vehicles now because unlike World War II today's world is predominantly flattened out and have roads pretty much everywhere this is for ease of transport but also has the all-terrain ability of a tracked vehicle to about 80%
Yes. Also, if you lose a track. You go nowhere.
Eight wheel's gives you a chance of getting out of trouble.
Not in soft ground or snow. Wide tracks will keep anything from sinking in spring east of the Fulda gap or in Finland.
@particles343 Ikr. Roads are not only the first things to get blocked, but you're easilly tracked and predicted by using them. Then if an when you can they'll all be mined heavily and have tons of anti tank crews set up all along them.
Besides. Roads aren't a new invention lol. We've always have a mix of wheeled and tracked vehicles for this very reason.
The fastest way to move to areas is a straight line. Often that's never a road ironically.
But yeah when they mentioned this things weight ny eyes rolled when I heard Germany want some. It may be fine for defense only style roles in the dry areas of Australia but yeah mud is a thing. The lighter vehicles already too are being stuck left and right there. Imagine this thing ffs lol.
I don't even know how well modular even is yet tbh. My ARs are modular but I hate taking 5 seconds to even swap those around and instead just buy whole guns instead.
Imagine buying only let's say 10 chassis and then they're all mined and now you have an extra 3 cabs for each blown up chassis but no chassis lol.
Some things just seems best made as one and get rid of it when it gets too bad off. So we'll see how that plays out I guess. Sounds fancy tho for sure.
But all this when tanks as a whole are becoming extinct more by the day anyways.
Most was already maxed at weight for transport as it was as far as planes etc moving them.
So yeah well see I suppose😂
They're also a lot quieter than a tracked AFV.
i saw a picture of one next to a LAV ... it literally made the LAV look like a child's toy
🤣 You got the pronunciation of Annastasia Palaszczuk's spot on, although she herself pronounces it 'Palashay'...
The Boxer Is a British Armoured fighting vehicle that is simply selling off the rails around the world. It is presently in service with the Household cavalry, as the British forces have already started reciving them!!
A British armoured vehicle? you mean a German vehicle from Rheinmetal AG?! Please
How do they compare to the Patria
But is it drone proof?
More food for the drones
Did they make that one unit for Evel Knievel's son to jump the Grand Canyon??😂😂
👍👍👍👍👍👍!!!!
Any chance you can add the LBs and MPH for us old buzzards who hate Metric plz.
Please give us weights, range, and fire distance in standard measurements.
He did
Poor Anastasia, that pronunciation XD
could also have used scania V8. one of the best diesel v8s in the world and probably cheaper then mtu
more concerned with the computer systems being hacked, rare earth elements supply chains, apt1, and the continued division of rich against poor, that no one seems to be concerned about. but as always great video! and thank you.
It's a British invention actually which Australia use.
Is this the same vehicle the British are adopting?
Super cool. Unfortunately nothing that a $50,000 drone can’t handle. War has changed. Time for the MIC to wake up. Drones and hypersonic’s. Unmanned fighters..
$50.000 more like $3000. But it's still a cool machine.
Nothing is or will be100%. Everything has it's place. Drones have absolutely changed the face of warfare just as IEDs had previously done. Defenses will be developed for drones, then counters for those defenses. Such is the nature of the MIC that Eisenhower warned us about. The only constant in military development is change and escalating costs.
Not with reactive armor and anti drone electro magnetic pulse radars
Drones have already, probably, been superseded recently. New radar and weapons are taking them out which has been seen in the Middle East with the Americans and Israel seemingly taking out drones without trouble.
Someone played to much black ops 2
Too late. All armor is now obsolete with the arrival attack drone squads. Most armor can be destroyed before ever getting to the front lines.
As technically superior as the boxer might be, Australia finds itself ping $300 billion for a half dozen new nuclear attack submarines. The funds will be coming from the army budget basically. In other words, any new technology, for the army will be postponed or canceled.remember that Australia has a population more than 10 times smaller than the United States.
The boxer is a german armour vehicle not a original Australian design
It’s a wopplydoonger
WHAT?! That's an odd name.
I'd have called them chazzwazzers
As an Australian it's disgraceful and sad how far (AUKUS) has fallen since 1939-1945. Three nations that not only saved Europe and Israel but the entire world, fast forward 75 years? *Insert Cricket Noises* for fear of antagonizing the "2023 Axis of evil." It is NO good spending $$$ on military budgets if you're not going to use it, or use it as a metaphorical deterrence that doesn't/isn't deterring said entity. Australia is not apart of NATO, we SHOULD be playing more of part on the world stage, which is a metaphor, for; fighting fire, with fire.
i wonder when the West is going to start a few new types of tank and a new main service rifle?
Do they have an action protection system but trophy or iron fist?
Otherwise, doesn't matter how ticket has inside, it's a death trap for ATGM's,
Not true it's not like a Russian vehicle the crew would still survive in the boxer the vehicle may be destroyed or disabled but the crew Will Survive that's what's differentiate Western capability compared to Russian
The correct answer is ALWAYS the 30mm auto cannon. Seems like something that heavy with tires would not do well in the mud.
Seems to work on all the other vehicles Russia uses 30 mm with a 100 mm gun next to it no problem the Ukrainian BTR 4 uses a 30 mm with wheels and it has no problems either every vehicle will get stuck in the mud depending on how you use it even the latest or lightest vehicles have this problem
@@brianv1988 The Boxer was designed as tracked vehicle, the wheeled version is for countrys like Australia.
This modern and overly expensive machine can be taken out by a 500$ kamikaze drone, they should have seen this by now..
hmmm.
1. Aussies almost canceled the program due to number of technical issues. Some are; too top heavy, system integration issues, no room for APS (weight wise) etc etc. if they openly criticised it, there must be some issues.
2. Being German design, the acquisition cost and maintenance cost will be horrific….
3. They use French tyres and German 30mm rounds only (not Nato compatible). If whatever the reason, there is to be disruption, this system is just a glamourised battlefield taxi.
There are dozens reasons what is wring with this vehicle but let’s leave it at that.
sounds nice untill a 30x30 cm drone with a shaped charge buzz in the area
So many buzz words so little info
36т с модулем, стоит наверное как 2.5 т90м
Seems overboard just to end their frog problem.
1 bil for 211 thats almost 50 mil a piece. I only see a mil or 2.
Yeah but being modular, you can convert it to any model you need in less than an hour, so it's much more versatile than any other IFV currently available.
I wonder if a civilian model will eventually rise up to see the light of day? It makes sense with road rage these days..
Those will be used against the citizens by their own governments.
Pure and utter BS
Well its shown in Ukraina where countries dump machines on them that the Ukrainians have less than adequate training on that no matter how modern the machine is its up to how the crew use it.
And it will be come the Russians...
Send it to Ukraine.... They will send what's left back in several boxes
6000 Australia soilders have died from heart attacks since they made them get jabbed...
i wonder what Western nation recruitment figures have been before and after mandates? doesn't seem like protection when it needs to be forced.
What!?
Yeah heart attacks they have had to have 7 covid jabs so far so they can stay in the army.. another one has just been announced .. bad shit
Someone's anti vacine grandmother took control of their keyboard
full of shit - tin foil hat guy
And a hundred dollar Walmart drone turn it and it crew into a pile of scrap
And the Alligator was far more advanced, better designed, modular and British... But someone has to pay germany out of it's self made economic crisis, so go out and buy a turkish made Volkswagon. Anyway, crap gun the CTA 40mm is more lethal and fires SMART amo, three Warriors survived a “purposeful” attack by 2 A-10's at the end of the Gulf War surviving Cannon and ATGM's. This aluminium box, small arms maybe a 20mm. Pity the Federation only uses 30mm Cannons ON EVERYTHING. A suppose another word for box is coffin.
Don’t worry the British profit from most of the armoured vehicles produced in or by German companies… Rolls Royce own the engine suppliers
Please lower the music volume or, better yet, don’t use any music at all. If you feel your content isn’t interesting or exciting enough unless music is as loud as this then why post such content at all? I don’t want to seem disrespectful, you do some wonderful work, but the music is so unnecessary.
Eh. I'd rather he lowered it. The music gives some ambience.
Use English measurements not Kilograms!
they are all the same BS.
A true game changer would be twice as big and thick, with tracks twice the width/wheels on long half axis outside the frame, popping out a new wheel once it's blasted off by a mine.
All this "technological marvel" bullshit only to be blown up by a cold war era soviet hardware. 😂
